Changelog 1.2
Auto-full root finally fixed.....
Added ICS Stock kernel LP1 N7000
Changelog 1.1:
Auto-root at each reboot
Tested with rom unrooted
Changelog 1.0:
Added Touch Recovery CW ver. 5.8.1.5
Added Auto full-root and Auto-installation CWManager
Added auto-backup folder EFS (in /data/.Abyss)
Added Battery auto-calibration (you must delete the file /data/.Abyss/calibrata)
init.d scripts support
Added ability to change the bootanimation and the startup sound (in internal usb memory you must create a folder called boot and insert ourselves bootanimation.zip and/or powerOn.wav, then reboot)
Please note:
When you install the fist time the kernel it will run the full installation of the root and CW Manager.
Then, if we want flash again the kernel (after having already installed it the first time), we will have to delete the file /data/test.
Otherwise, auto-root and the installation of CWMManager will not occur
Bug: Usb Storage mount not working in recovery
I am not responsible for damage caused by the kernel
to the device and/or media.
If you encounter problems using this kernel, in what a way, I am not responsible.
You flashed the kernel, it is your responsibility.
EDIT:
The kernel link are removed

Yes............

Is it OK for midnote

I had flashed the kernel on imilka's AOSP ICS, and lost root (cannot mount system/ as r/w in Root Explorer, data/ gives message: 'you don't have root access').
I reflashed the kernel with the same result - still no root.
Am I doing something wrong here?

Yes..........
Edit:
imilka's AOSP ICS is aosp rom, not stock
This kernel is for stock rom (chinese leak and derivatives)

So to clarify, you retained your root access on V3 imilka rom after flashing this kernel?
Trying to figure out whether I should take the plunge and try myself

Unlikely,
You already have root with imilka AOSP. Why would you even flash this?

hopefully this has better battery drain life. I'm on rocket 1.5, so I just use cwm recovery to flash this?
Thanks

How so? Proof?
Don't get me wrong I think it's great, but I don't see anything in the specs that would make this kernel any faster.

Seeing as you have not provided any documentation as to what initiates you took to enable CRT on here, I read your SGS 2 threat and presume its in the services.jar.
I have a modded rom already on deoxed KK1 and have no desire to install a totally new framework.
So should it be ok to just replace the services.jar on my system to enable crt-on animation?

Stock Firmware (no wipe) N7000XXLA4 (2.3.6 one file, odexed) Open Germany
Warning! Firmware deletes all data and settings!
ROM established with FULL WIPE
You need to have the root right
Installation by means of MobileODINPro https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImV1LmNoYWluZmlyZS5tb2JpbGVvZGluLnBybyJd

flash the first stock firmware is not above KKA and get root in this way selecting the method 2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
and then it flashed this ROM.)
Installation :
0. Save all the necessary applications to the previous your firmware, using Titanium Backup.apk
1. Download and put repacked Firmware N7000XX***_N7000OXA***_N7000XX***.tar
and root kernel CF-Root-***-v5.0.tar оn the internal flash drive.
2. Install MobileODINPro_v1.25 (Update plug-ins) then open it.
3. Press "Open file" choose at the top N7000XX***_N7000OXA***_N7000XX***.tar
4. Press "KERNEL" specify the path to root kernel CF-Root-***v5.0.tar
5. Deselect "Enabl EverRoot"
6. Press "flash firmware" (further "ok...")
Wait about 5 minutes...
Castom binary "no"! No Yellow triangle! Have root right!
And so the same program will install : SU v3.5, CWM recovery 5.0.2.7, CWM manager v3.
My feeling with the kernel CF-Root-***-v5.0 running smoothly.
I installed repacked N7000XX***_N7000OXA***_N7000XX***.tar on top of CheckROM™ Revo NoteHD. Everything went without a glitch

I already have CF Root + CWM for KL3 . Meanwhile I have also installed Mobile Odin Pro on my Note. What is the best way of updating to LA1 ? And will I lose the CF Root after flashing LA1 ?
Could you also guide how to Flash LA1 with CWM manager app from Chainfire , as suggested by you earlier . Abd after doing that , will I retain Cf root + Cwm app ?

The first step for you is to get root, and the easiest way to do that is to flash one of the pre-rooted stock Roms from here. Use PC Odin.
Rooting Guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
ICS Stunner Flashing Guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552554
so,having already LC1 i have to flash via PC odin the pre-rooted file "3*Files Wipe N7000XXLC1_N7000OXALC1 Open Europe (02/03/2012)"
and then follow the guide "ICS Stunner Flashing Guide"?is this all?

Yes, that's right. You'll only have to double check if you get CWM Recovery with the pre-rooted Rom. If not, you'll need to flash CF--Root LC1 kernel to get the recovery.
After that, you're set to follow the Stunner flashing instructions.

I think the latest Stunner could be flashed over a rooted GB kernel(Abyss to be specific), no?
Edit: Confirmed
NEW STEPS BETA 4.3 ONWARDS:
Backup data apps.
Download and copy latest Stunner ROM on your SD Card.
Make sure you are on Rooted ROM. Reboot in recovery.
ONLY IF YOU ARE ON GINGERBREAD: Flash Abyss Kernel. Goto Advanced and Reboot Recovery. Tested and confirmed working on CF-Root Kernel.
Wipe Data (Recommended but not mandatory if you on Stunner ROM already)
Flash ROM.
Flash suitable Modem (Optional, recommended ICS LP5 modem)(not included in ROM)
Reboot and Read Caution.
Do not restore system apps or system data.

[KERNEL][23/04][ICS] LP6 Rooted Kernel

Works on ICS Stunner 1.4.19 (tested) and should work on Touchwiz based ROMs and AOSP based ROMs (ICS Only)
Since I am working on new kernel from source, I decided to give away this LP6 rooted kernel which was planned to be released with ICS Stunner.
I found GPS better on this kernel but this belief can be placebo...
Consist of
CWM
SuperSu (Superuser app)
Init.d support
Rom chefs may need to take care of busybox installation via updater-script. Else users can try to install busybox via Busybox app in the market.
ICS Stunner users shouldn't mind above red line.
Welcome to the Kernel Planet Amigo! Taking everything to the next level!
Thank you for Rooting the LP6 for us bro!!
one word BRAVO!!!
CWM is the real difference here, there was a rooted LP6 kernel floating around (chas found it) but it did not have CWM recovery..

[Q] Moving from Rooted Stock GB to Custom ROMs Help?

Hi all,
I'm currently on stock Gingerbread, which I have rooted via the ODIN method (I flashed No-Wipe N7000XXLA6_N7000OXEULA1_XEU Europe (03/02/2012) from THIS thread) and would like to move onto installing custom ROMs (namely the ParanoidAndroid ROM)
I was just wondering if someone could provide me with some instructions on how to do it, as the ones in the thread doesn't mention any kernels or moving from stock ROMs.

since you are on GB, you may also flash abyssnote42 touch kernel.
you may wish even to stay on that GB rom with that kernel, but from that setup, you can follow the rest of the instructions.
I've heard a lot about abyss, but how would I revert back to stock kernel in the instance of warranty etc? And if I flash abyss I can follow the standard instructions for PA right? e.g
Install Rom: http://d-h.st/DtV
Install HYBRID Gapps: http://4ndr01d.com/drcmda/common/
Wipe caches, factory reset is a must if you're coming from another rom than CM9
If your statusbar is gone after the first reboot: longpress Powerbutton > Toggle Statusbar
Reboot and edit your Apps Dpi under Settings/Paranoid Settings/P.A.D. Hold the powerbutton to see the new fullscreen-togglebutton

I've heard a lot about abyss, but how would I revert back to stock kernel in the instance of warranty etc? And if I flash abyss I can follow the standard instructions for PA right? e.g

yes, your right, Because your on GB now you can just flash the abyss kernel and flash the ROM.
as for reverting to stock, When / If the time comes, just download a full firmware package from XDA or Sammobile and flash it using ODIN, that will flash everything back to stock
easy peasy !
That's it guys, I've decided I'm going to go with Franco kernel, from his thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1491428
BUT, I don't understand the instructions when he says
Stock XXLPY/LPF only - confirmed and working

Could someone give me instructions on what I would need to do to install his kernel? Thanks!
(Details of my current setup in first post)
If I flashed franco kernel or Speedmod kernel through Mobile ODIN that would be fine right? I don't want any yellow triangle and plan on installing either of the 2 kernels, and then after a while MAYBE install Paranoid Android.
Would that work?
Thanks!
yes, you can use mobile odin to flash kernels
you wont get yellow triangle via mobile odin
Custom Gingerbread ROMs
Hello Friends, I would like to humbly ask what are the various Gingerbread custom ROMs available for the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000?

Thank you for your response, dratif.
The custom ROM you have suggested, is it based on Gingerbread?
Also, what are the other available custom ROMs based on Gingerbread?
Friends, I am currently on a stock Gingerbread ROM and the Android version is 2.3.6
Considering I intend on flashing a custom Gingerbread ROM, should I look at one built only on 2.3.6 or would any custom ROM built on 2.3.x would suffice?
