Thinking about flashing beats audio. I already have voodoo sound.Which the difference detween them? Which is better? They are both sound amplifiers?
I dont know whether beats audio works on 2x but voodoo does work. Plus DSPManager along with Voodoo makes music complete. One more PLUS LG'S default music player is very high audio quality music player with lib dependent HW equalizing unlike other players which uses cpu for DSP.
So in summary,
LG music player + voodoo + dspmanager thats way enough for an ear

Now i'm using audio beats with boose and i have to say that i feel the difference between before (using vodoo sounds^^). Finally i think that audio beats is better...it's my opinion of course.
My vote goes to beats audio.
of course voodo sound, beats audios take no effect=.=
Well, manage to find working dsp manager.. my settings:
1) v20q rom+stock kernel
2) beats audio
3) dsp manager: bass boost moderate+rock eq
Results: Listening to Metallica, and surprisingly superb..
Wish Jason Newstead's bass sound a bit clearer..

According to supercurio, The Creator of voodoo, he said beats makes no diferrence, he measured it. Also I would really believe something really optimised to our phones, to our hardware.
Anyway, if beats do something(which I dont believe), it would be just some software enhancement like equalizer or anything faulting the clearness of the sound.
Just my opinion based on my logic.

I think its not which one is the best.. its about which is convenient to users. For me, the Beats Audio advantage is we dont need another app to configure it, as Voodoo we do need the app to activate it.
Just flash Beats Audio, install DSP Manager and find your settings. (To me, its simpler)..

Voodoo is all we need. Poweramp helps a bit too. Beats is just a marketing name that has no real advantage. Trust me you don't want what they got.

My HP touchpad has that stupid Beats audio and it sucks. My Nexus S with sony headphones (MDR-ex300sl) and Voodoo + DSP Manager sound wayyyyy better than Beats.

No "we" don't. Beats is nothing but anecdotal garbage.
All "Beats Audio" is, is a multiband compressor much like all the other "audio enhancement" crap (i.e Creative X-FI Crystalizer, Alpine's Media Expander, Sony's DM+ Advanced, etc), making certain frequencies louder at the cost of others. Which incidentally reduces both clarity and soundstage. Unfortunately, human hearing can sometimes perceive louder volume as better sound.

Particularly in the case of beats, and bass is pumped up at the severe cost of mid and high tones. Which is why I don't use my wife's beats headphones.

+1 Beat audio in p1000 would be great. I am using Voodoo sound + poweramp which is great but would like to explore beat audio in my GT p1000.
+1
For couple of days, I have been testing several music players combined with voodoo sound + audio equalizer pro using supplied samsung headphone. First, I installed voodoo sound, then audio equalizer pro and tried it on poweramp. In poweramp I switched on equalizer, tone and Limit but I kept Bass and trible volume to zero. The sound was good but not compact. Then I tried the same on ttpod and N7 music player which to score less than poweramp. Finally, I tried on Neutron music player and I was amazed at the compact sound it delivers. My phone is galaxy tab p1000 with overcome rom and I set the minimum cpu to 400 becos even at 200 mhz, some times the sound has glitches. This is my new finding which i would like to share to all music lover who are using p1000. If someone has better experiences with music sound quality, please share it. I play around with the settings to get the best out of it. If someone would like to know my setting, I will share
Hi friends,
Search beats audio installer in Google play and try, but you should have custom kernel.
I didnt try. But if you try, try in your risk. Sorry, I didn't test.

Trust me, Go For Lovetz beats audio + alsa with audio fx widget.
Dsp is crappy.
I'm using that on droidace v2 and sound is awesome.
DSP usually force closes some times, and provides screeches.
And yup, rembr to set transparency for audio fx, that's when it looks nice.

This is so awkward , ALSA is a almost universal Linux Open Source Audio driver created to replace closed source drivers.
DSP is just a sound manipulation.
Most known Android DSP's are SRS, Beats Audio, MusicFX, XBass, and of course DSP Manager.
The difference from an Equalizer and DSP on Android is that DSP uses the CPU thats specially reserved for DSP .The original Galaxy Ace (cooper) has a separate 320MHz CPU in a Hexagon QDSP5 DSP chip reserved for DSP and Audio/Video decoding.
Ow ALSA seems not working on cm9 RC1.....Cant find the files after installing......will use the inbuilt MUSICFX equalizer anyway....

LOL yeah when I saw this thread "Why is ALSA and DSP being compared?" lol
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
well....I THINK, both om em have different advantages.
dsp manager wich uses DSP(as mentioned above) that didnt affect device performance, but has bad sound processing
alsa that has great sound result but take some CPU power.
and i personally think alsa isn't something for SGA, because when I use it, phone become soooooo slooowwww.....
EDIT: I am not affiliated with this MOD at all, I'm simply spreading the word.
Alright, forget AwesomeBEATS, AC!D Soundmod and DSP Manager. I've been trying this out for a few weeks now, with incredible results. I have tested this on both Borked ROM and PACman, and works flawlessly on both so it should work on all ROMs available for our Vivid. The only bug I have noticed is the separate bluetooth settings don't seem to make a difference, it just uses the Headset settings. Here are the settings I've found with the best sound for me so far, it will make your ears happy.
V4A-FX Powered On- CHECKED
PlaybackAGC- Unchecked
FIR Equalizer- CHECKED- I use Vocal Booster
Convolver- CHECKED- srs_2_1_normal+headset.irs
Field Surround- CHECKED- Both set to Moderate
Reverberation- Unchecked
Dynamic System- CHECKED- I have Denon headphones so I select High-End, sometimes Extreme. I can tell a difference between the two.
Tube Simulator- CHECKED
Just read through the thread and you'll find the .irs files and what to do with them. Installation is super easy and makes a huge difference.

For our Vivid, choose A8Cortex with Neon when it does the initial driver setup.
If you have TitaniumBackup or can otherwise completely remove DSP Manager, I highly recommend this as to avoid conflicting settings.
thank you it works! my cm10 flashed vivid is so much louder and clear thanks again
I also want to point out my edit, if you can remove DSP manager from the system I recommend doing so, as its settings will conflict and deteriorate Viper's.
I'm glad you said something cus I deleted dsp manager and I'm using viper and I was gunna reflash the dsp manager since I think there's to much bass and music is a bid distorted.

It really does turn your phone into a high-end preamp/mixer, the audio profiles you can create with a little tweaking are amazing. This is one of the best setups I've found so far, for my headphones and the cassette adapter in my car-
Headset-
Master Power- On
Playback Gain- Off
FIR Equalizer- On- Vocal Booster
Convolver- On- IRS I use is samsung_i9300_soundalive_11_virtualchannel7.1.irs
Field Surround- Off
Headphone Surround- Off in the car, On for headphones (sometimes)
Reverberation- Off
Dynamic System- On- Extreme Headphones(v2), 16% Dynamic Bass, Tube Simulator enabled
Fidelity Control- ViPER Bass- On- Natural Bass, 40hz, 3.5db, ViPER Clarity- On- OZone+, 3.5db
Auditory System Protection- Cure Tech- On, Moderate
Master Gate (Limiter)- 0db, 0db
Glad it's working out for you guys!

Does it have a huge difference compared to DSP Manager? and what are the difference?
considering trying this mod...
but i need to know how to uninstall this mod ...just incase i don't like it ....
(I'm currently rooted running a stock dedoxed rom... using beats audio and poweramp so headphone wise i have no issue with the sound, but sound through the phones speakers is just too low.)
I'm on 4.2.2 Unofficial Dirty Unicorn (7-18-13),
after flash the rom,on phone speaker, default bass was too heavy to make it sounds horrible, and the dsp manager didn't work.
but this MOD works great!
Really thanks for the info, it fixed my phone speaker problem
Hello, is there any way to make my headphone louder? ( I use Apollo player, but not that loud as i want)
Did you try it with DSP manager?
I don't know how the feature is called in English, but its in the tab with wm8994... Try to play around with DSP manager, you can boost your bass there and get the best **** out of your headphones

Listen here DSP manager sucks, at least for i9000(just my opinion). Install Voodoo Sounds + PowerAmp and you will hear your music on a whole new level , trust me Btw you need good headphones, the original one are very good but there are some other that are compatible. Try the combination above and tell me your impression ^^
