ICS ROM's - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hey guys, with all these new ICS ROM's emerging...Im trying to get an understanding as to which one is the most ideal one. I know some have camera working, some don't....is it worth updating, or too many bugs?
Thanks

Use safe strap. You can test out the roms while still having your main rom on your phone

This is not a good place to park this thread.
But there aren't many choices for ICS roms...
ICS4Bionic would be my choice

I recommend th3orys aokp rom. Def runs the best in my bionic and has the most customizing features with the rom control. Front camera doesn't work though as with any ics rom on the bionic.

Who still on TeamRocket ROM?

Just curious who still on TeamRocket ROM v 1.5?
At least for me, hesitated to go across it to other ICS since this ROM work perfectly for my daily usage. (still find it the best)
Just a down side it only boost to 1.2MHz.
Knowing that LP5 kernel may reach origin speed but camera is not working (am I still stuck at yesterday?) Search and read yet cant find any solution (maybe I blind if there is one)
Anyway,I just want to find out any rocket souls out there with LP5 kernel and camera is working fine. If yes mind to share your experience for upgrading the kernel
Or you already hit another ICS which comparable good to TeamRocket ROM, may share...
Thanks

Haha, I'm on Rocket Rom 1.5 too. And for the same reason: As RocketRom 1.5 works good as a daily driver including S-Pen support, and worried about the fact that you don't exactly know what is working on other ICS ROMs.
Those are the main reasons for my thread "bug comparison of ICS based roms"
Was on it till yesterday test driving stunna rom... s pen I don't use at all at the most maybe 5%

Imilka's v08 atm, was on rocket 1.5, imilka is very stable for me, thinking of moving to imilka's CM9 v02
I'm still on 1.5, mainly because I am too lazy to go to anything else.

ParanoidAndroid V0.5. As stable as it can get. Have been using it from 2 months. Not a problem. *touch wood* LOL
I'm on "The Classic Rom" after Criskello has seized supporting his ROM. The Classic ROM is super stable coupled with the HydraCore kernel.

I don't suggest any ROM until you really tried one for yourself. What might work for others might NOT necessarily work for you...
So it's better you have to really try one (by flashing it), or look it up on each ROM threads you can find here on this forum.
Again, different strokes for different folks... Trust and rely yourself more than just taking the words of other people... Try to flash each ROM you like until you'll settle down to the one that really suits your liking....
Cm9 for raw power or cleanote if you still want tw stock

If you go for cm9 based roms remember that you won't get smemo, snote
I am using RocketROM v.11 with SpeedMod Kernel k3-13.
This combination runs pretty smooth and no any reboot needed.
I am using my GN for business with no game at all, so I am not chasing for top speed.
Hope this could give you some hints.

[Q] What are some good ROMs for a tech illiterate friend?

I've been using this captivate that a buddy let me have for a few months now, and I have enjoyed playing around with it. My friend needs a new phone so I am giving him this Captivate and returning to the desire HD that I have. I'm looking for a ROM that is fast and stable but I don't necessarily want to give him a stock odin rom. I am familiar with rooting, recovery and flashing custom ROMs. I've got a few questions and preferences:
I'm looking for something that will boost performance and remove bloat.
I need it to be incredibly stable as I will be flashing it and then it will be out of hands.
I would prefer ICS if possible, but a good stable gingerbread ROM would be fine too.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Check out the Collective team. They has several Roms...GB, ICS and JB.
Here is the ICS Rom thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29979761
Here is the thread for JB.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31145604
And here is the KK4 GB Rom...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20288065
The Collective does great work and produces stable, quality Roms.

Thanks man, I'll check them out!
Just a couple quick things to ponder while you are looking into the ROMs. If they need something stable imo gb is gonna be the way to go. ICS you have to worry about the encryption unsuccessful issue that is known to hit the cappy. (you can find the thread about this in the dev section). While there are some really great jb ROMs out there (The Collective included lol) sometimes can still have a few bugs.
BTW @ 4-2ndtwin you missed a ROM lol.
And thanks for your help on that sgs3 thing.

[Q] What ROM I should choose?

Hi,
I just bought a SGS+ and I am curious what ROM shoud I choose?(I`ve seen a lot here) Because stock ROM lag`s every time I unlock phone, sometimes apps lag a couple of seconds and I would preffer ICS based ROM but I can try JellyBean too.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Thanks.
Really comes down to your preferences. Some are feature rich, some are slimmed down, still others are aimed at gamers and performance. Personally I'm enjoying the Tsunami builds in the 4.1.2 flavor. Just check out a few until one suits you.

There are many good ROMs, you should try them and decide what is the best for you.
If you want more performance or if you don't want lag, you can flash a kernel with OC support, you can change the governor and the IO scheduler.
Good luck
I too own a SGS + and for me Bio Hazard is the perfect ICS Rom.
While Gigabread + is the perfect Gingerbread Rom.
But that are my views, it may not be the perfect match for you, so just try out all the ROMs, and one last thing, Jellybean at the sec is a little buggy so stick with 2.3 or 4 !
Ty Brahmnoor! I've tryed Biohazzard and it is a great ROM! Till now!
the topic can be closed! ty all!

no probs !
I strongly recommend using Jelly Bean ROMs rather than ICS ones. There are several reasons for that because JB is clearly an upgrade to ICS and not to mention the notorius ICS media bug.
You can start working with cm rom's i find them very attractive. although flashed today MagicBean rom, pretty nice to.
All you need to do is start working in that, keep on trying
My two favs...and the only 2 i switch between after trying almost everything there is.
1. CM9 + Devil Kernel (ICS)
2. Saurom + Semaphore 2.7.4 (gingerbread)
Currently using Saurom + semaphore 2.7.4
Just recently flashed this and im very impressed and pleased.

I would suggest trying out the JB ROM by Ivendor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828). I'm pretty happy with it, especially since I do not use the features mentioned in that thread as buggy/not working.
The overall performance is awesome, the user interface is very smooth and battery life is better than I had with CM9 ROM.

Custom ROM suggestions!

Hi all,
I've been a big supporter of the stock ROM ever since I got my Note with 4.0.4 (pre-facelift). Then there came to UX facelift (still 4.0.4), which added some lag. Recently I updated my phone to 4.1.2. Transition animations, launching of apps, etc became so laggy that it's hardly bearable (for me at least).
Now I'm wondering what are some of you guys' suggestions on custom ROM? I want to stick with a really fast TW ROM or AOSP ROM. I've looked into CM10, but it has issues with video recording, which I use often. Does anyone know of a ROM that is at least ICS and majorly stable and fast? Would anyone suggest CM9?
Thanks a lot!!

Looks like Alliance is a popular one. Since it's based on TW's JB, how smooth is it compared to the stock tw 4.1.2 (LM5 specifically)?
I would also like some inputs on CM9? Thanks!
Best ROM threads always turn into Pissing Matches. Best thing you can do is go to Dev section and read a few OPs. Pick a few that you like and read the last 10 pages or so for bugs. Narrow it down to one you want and start reading.
