I have to use the phone in 2g mode.
When I put the phone in 3g mode my signal goes completely. I have spoke to Vodafone and then said use 2g mode.
But I can’t send or receive picture messages.
I don’t use much mobile internet but I would like to use picture messages.
Thanks for looking

try another rom to see if the problem is in the rom/modem. try for example codename android ics, it has worked fine for me.

Make sure you always have 3G data turned on. Also use a Bell modem that supports 850Hz, JK4 if you're on 2.2.
Well aware to have that on its Never been off . .

Galaxy S not making or receiving calls or txt’s using XXJVT/XXJVS Rom HELP!

Hi all, I have been using the Stock Extra from the here for a number of weeks now with no issues. Until yesterday when my galaxy s stopped making or receiving calls or text messages, I get an error message saying text not sent & when I try to dial out it goes straight to call ended. I have tried a restore which didn’t help and I have even went back to XXJVS Rom 2.3.5 but still no calls or texts ! I rang Virgin mobile yesterday and they did all the usual checks and they said it must be a setting on the phone causing the problem as they cant see anything being blocked or barred. When I use my card in another phone it works fine ! My wife’s sim card wont work in my phone either so it has to be the phone ! Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this problem? I am Desperate now I have only had the phone 3 months!
These are my settings now on XXJVSModel No

Did you try a reflash with Odin? Never seen this problem before.
Hi Paulforde, Yeah tried re-flashing with Odin but no change
Cheers
Try a different modem firmware...
I had several issues with several different ROMs but in most cases anything to do with calls, data, wifi, GPS, or BT were solved by flashing a different modem... I didn't notice which country or carrier you're using but I'm in Canada using Rogers and the best modem I've found for signal strength, and keeping all of the other radio related functions working has been UGKC1 This is dependant on where you are and who your carrier is though.
You can find most of the Froyo and Gingerbread modems here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876391
Hope this helps,
Jamie
I have this exact problem with a Galaxy S I just got back from a RMA - the antenna was dodgy or something and it would get poor signal everywhere. Now signal is fine but it won't make texts/calls, again not the SIM.
Does your mobile internet work? Mine does which is weird..
Have you also checked your APN settings??

[Q] Dark Knight 4 and mms prob

Hi all,
I'm very new to this scene after only rooting my phone a week ago.
I was using icssgs but today flashed the Dark Knight 4 ROM, and love it.
The only part that doesn't seem to be working is mms.
Sms, email, facebook, phone calls all work perfect, just not mms.
I did find in the this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23500584&postcount=81
But that was no help.
I'm in Australia on the Optus network.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Not sure what was happening but turned phone off last night, charged it and turned it back on this morning and MMS's are now working.
Cheers
mms problem
try reflash rom again............
Thanks, if the problem recurs again I'll try flashing again.

[Q] Issue with out going MMS

My phone just suddenly stopped being able to send mms/picture messages (it was working fine uptill yesterday). No new apps have been installed, tried battery pulls but its still not working. When i try to send them. the phone will say "sending" but the message never gets sent, it will just stay that way until i delete the message.
Im in Pakistan so am using the international GSM note gt-n7000. Funny thing is, I am receiving mms just fine and can browse the net using the data network connection aswell.
I was on stock GB when the issue started and now just updated to stock ICS 4.0.3 and the problem still persists.(im non rooted btw)
Also the few other people i know who have the same network as me, but are in another city are experiencing no problem whatsoever.
I have tried everything i could think of, using the default access point settings as well as manually entering them but nothing seems to work.
Could this be a problem with my phone and not my network?
Hi, I am having same issues on AT&T: i am unable to send/receive MMS/connect to inet. Everything worked fine before the ICS update.

I would suggest that you call ur operator pertaining to this matter.
By the way, could you tell us what is your Modem, kernel and ROM?

its all stock, have yet to root the phone, the ics is the official Germany release. The problem started when i was on GB and persisted when i came over to ICS... i can cope with a network problem, just hope its nothing hardware related..
Do you have other Sim card from other operator? That is another way to isolate the issue

phone signal problem ?

okay so on my galaxy note i have a full signal usually with the H icon, and even with this full signal sometimes my phone gets stuck sending a message or i cannot ring/recieve calls ? it just goes straight through to voicemail. i check my phone and yeah full signal with H. sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt :/
what could be the reasons for this ?
i am in the uk and running the german official jellybean what i got told works fine
but also if i remember correctly it did the same thing on a different rom.
any help is much appreciated and thanks you
i get the same problem.usually only if i have my phone docked.
im running the alliance rom
yeah its really strange i can have full signal but if someone tries to ring me it says my phone is turned off haha :/ i need my phone to be reliable.
Don't use mobile Internet everytime? Disable it then make calls and receive calls it should work
