Of course, this is an issue, and of course, this has been discussed several times on the forum.
Do a search before you start a new topic!

It was already asked and answered, the lack of space is in datadata partition.
Any possibility on expanding the partition or is the /datadata partition doomed with such little storage? Any other solution other than App2SD? Because that has been very unstable for me.

It's onecosmic choice to put datadata partition on onenand memory, so it shares the total space with the system partition:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338636&highlight=datadata
If you want more space, you have to ask him to get it back to movinand.
Push, I have the same problem too...........
one more here with the same problem. will try to do some manual work on /data/data
the app cachemate from the market does not work for me
SGS i9000
Android Version: ICS 4.0.3
Build number: MyICs beta 2.1.3
My guess is that you maybe use titaniums option for restoring locations.... Did you try installing to system's default location?
I know I'm bumping an old thread, but did you ever find a solution to your "low on space" problem? If not, you may want to give this workaround a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22183016&postcount=5161
The command to disable the datadata partition is : touch /datadata/.nodatadata , running this command could slow your phone down tho
how to solve
try this one.. I have the same probs and it solve mine by flashing data.zip...

I have a tricky problem with the internal storage (Internal SD Card).
No changes are possible to perform. No format, wipe or whatever worked.
For instance, after every boot-up the uninstalled apps are back, no pictures can be taken by the camera and so forth...
I found other people with the same problem, so I'm certainly not the only one with this problem.
Here I found people with the same Problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941139
And here a possible solution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875042
Unfortunately, I did not find the mentioned Zip file to cure my sweet Galaxy S [running 2.3.5 XXJVT].
Does anybody know a solution?
Thanks!

What about non Samsung phones?
For an unknown China phone that is?
Hello all, and pardon the newbie question from me, as I've only really used nexus or AOSP ROMs on my devices.
I was searching the forums, and I found quite a few posts that were asking for help on fixing formatted internal storage resulting in a corrupted OS, but I was wondering how I would go about clearing my internal storage to make more room?
I'm currently using ARHD 12.1 (About to upgrade to 12.2) and I'm confused on why I only seem to have 16GB free with about 13+GB being used in the "Other" section.
I have a backup of my apps (1.5GB including data) and a backup of my ROM in TWRP (2.5GB) Even adding another 1GB just to make my point... would only render 5GB total used... so where is the other 8GB of data being stored?
Any help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

a opened the internal storage on my PC and added all the folder's sized by a calculator and the sum was about 12.65 GB.
almost same as yours
there is a video on youtube (I didn't watch it yet) about a fix for the One's internal memory after the 4.2.2 update.

I always make a backup every week, and after new ROMs. I know where the TWRP backup is, and I have moved it out, but there is still A LOT of space being used.
The settings in HTC Sense 5 aren't all that detailed, tapping the text in the storage settings works on pure AOSP ROMs but not in Sense.
The file explorer doesn't add up, and I feel that there are a lot of unused files there that were left over from previous ROM installs.

[POSSIBLE SOLUTION]
I was able to find this video that seems like it will do exactly what I want.
I'm going to try it later tonight and I will report back. Its basically just wiping the internal SD Card through TWRP (or choice recovery) and sideloading the Zipped ROM back to the phone. A bit riskier than I would like, but it seems like it will do the trick. Thanks for all the help though
Okay, so by following the video tutorial by TheSmokingAndroid found HERE I was able to clear out the space. Here is an "after" screenshot for comparison. This is a fresh install of ARHD 12.2 with only the Google apps installed.
I hope this helps some people regain the space lost in the 4.1 to 4.2.2 transition.
MODs - Please mark this thread as "solved" as it has fixed my original issue. Thanks

so this is how you fix it
1- get EX Explorer (or any Root Explorers) you have to be Rooted
2- go to your Root folder wich means "/"
3- there is a folder called "Storage"
4- inside there is 3 folders
5- if you will flash ARHD 12.2 i suggest you to delete every thing in that folder (it will delete your files like music, documents,,,etc)
6- if this didnt work your can install RUU and it will fix it
I flashed the official CM 10.1.3 on to my phone and everything seems to work but I have one major problem. It says that I have only got 6.31gb of storage left and I have a total of 12.26gb. I've looked on my computer and the file manager and there seems to be nothing taking up the space. What is this? Can anyone help me out as it's quite urgent that I get this space back?
Here's the problem.

You've got 6GB free, unused - why do you need more free space to put nothing in?
Also, have a search, this has been discussed many times - almost as many times as FM Radio on CM has been discussed
I need this space to put on what I have previously backed up and I have looked around but I can't seem to find the correct answer. Could you point me in the right direction?
if you were on 4.1.2, delete everything in data/media folder EXCEPT 0 folder. if you werent on 4.1.2 but on 4.2.2 or version thats higher, then format internal sdcard to fix the issue.
