Hey im sort of a noob with rooting, but I just rooted my galaxy tab 8.9 and installed clockwork recovery, and I went to install a custom rom but it wont turn on, nor will it boot to recovery. It shuts off after it gets to the samsung logo. I really need help and I thought maybe if I removed the cover and took out the battery it would stop the proccess because on the clockwork rom manager app I hit install from SD card to install the custom rom and it shut off and wouldnt go to recovery. Just my thoughts but I seriously need help with it. Thanks ahead of time!
Which tab type?

Rom manager doesn't work for gt8.9. You are not the first person who tried it, search in development forum for solution.

your phone just stuck at the red CWR screen, won't do anthing?
What exactly hqppened while yiu were flashing it? If it was done you need to go back while in recovery then choose reboot. Thats basic flashing procedure.

What the problem seems to be here is that your phone is messing up because you seem to be posting on the wrong section...try posting on the Q&A section and everything is going to be alright

Hi,
I was wanting to perform a nandroid backup of my phone so that i can upgrade to the latest baseband as I don't really want to wait for it to be released in the uk.
So I turned the phone off and then powered the phone back on. I have read through this forum and on google and found I need to press The power button and volume down until android appeared. So...
The first time I did this the first screen I got to was the updating screen. I let go before the screen appeared as my htc hero (phone before my O2X) booted straight into recovery mode after holding for a second or two. I had to pull the battery and let the phone reboot.
The second time I did it I got to a box with an arrow pointing out of with the android outside of it so I let go again. This time it has wiped the phone back to factory defaults.
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong please. Obviously the nandroid backup is useless now I have nothing to backup but I'd still like to know for the future.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction
Sedge
If entering recovery reset your phone you didn't install clockworkmod recovery. Install CWM from a thread in the O2X development forum or download ROM Manager from Market
Oooooo that makes me feel like a right n00b.... cheers for that. Do i need root access for cwm?
If i was to get rom manager does that do the same job as cwm to get into recovery mode??
thank you so much for your help!!

Yes you need root, if you use the one from my thread, it gains a root shell to flash it, but doesn't perm root the phone.
Use SuperOneClick if you want proper root.
Cheers for that rusty. I might just perm root it tbh then i can also do a titanium backup and use that. When you say it needs root to flash, does Cwm flash something onto the phone to make the phone enter recovery? If it does, what does it flash?
Thanks again!!

It flashes itself so you can boot into it.
You can use ROM Manger to boot into it, vol- & power, reboot apps from the Market etc
I have been flashing roms and kernels on my note since the day I got it on release.. Could say I'm bit of a flashaholic, but Friday I made the mistake of not using a SAFE kernel from xda but installed clockwork mod recovery from rom manager.. After I wiped data and proceeded to flash a custom rom my phone turnt off and I haven't been able to turn it back on. I can't get into recovery or download mode. My pc is picking up the phone but is throwing out USB not recognisable errors.. Could this be the dreaded hard brick and would a Samsung jig be my way out of it?
I hope it is charging while conmecting to charger.den it is not hard brick.jig is d solution man.nd in future plz dnt repeat dis mistake.
Hit thanks

Hi
I need help, if some one could help me was very good.
I upgrade my Galaxy Tab P1000 to Android 4.1.1 via Jelly Bean Sapir ROM (CM10-based) follow the procedure in this link
How to upgrade the Galaxy Tab P1000 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
Everything went perfectly until the end.
After the reboot re-enter recovery mode, I was doing a little research and found someone who says the tab came in recovery again to install the google app.
Okay I installed the gapps. He returned to boot into recovery, after tried it out of recovery mode but could not.
I opted to try again and get back behind the previously created backup. From then on the tab starts the past 2/2 blocks and only appears on screen Galaxy tab and bottom samsung.
Someone can help me?
Friends I am not well understood in this matter if I have said or done something stupid peoblemas not have to tell me learn and not just because I repeat.
From already thank you
When you first install CM10, you need to flash it multiple times, could be up to 4 times.
The first few just upgrades your cwm/kernel and converts to mtd, etc.
The last one will take the longest, you will see messages about flashing system etc etc.
Only then you flash gapps after the last long flash.

League is not as if there was software.

No, the battery died and I went by charging past few hours I went to see if it was loaded and the stack that appears on the screen remained blank but the tablet was light on the buttons ...
No power, no turn off, the tablet is frozen on the screen with the battery.
But even when he entered the recovery mode would not let me access the memory card ...
If you are talking about stock recovery (3e) then don't even bother to look into that.
For now just concentrate on charging the device and boot to download mode.

Strange thing is that I could get into download mode but after finishing the battery has not let me in ...

I want to acknowledge the help they gave me, after several attempts managed to get into Download mode and follow the procedure that has provided me, "http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1881981" resolving the problem.
Thank you ...
Now I have another probelama, put the rom Android 4.1.1 ROM Jelly Bean by Sapir (CM10-based) and I can not make calls or put Widgets.
You know tell me which is the best rom for Galaxy tab GT-P1000?
And also wanted for my HTC Tattoo with the best room possible, have any idea?
I have the mobile phone 1 year and is still with Android 1.6
Ok my phone is stuck on a blank screen after turn on, it was on Cyan but i wanted to bring it back to stock and that didnt work, so at this point im stuck with Android system recovery <3e> not much else to do, is there a way to download the stock rom at this point or what should i do?? step by step would be very helpful
You don't have cmw or something? I hope so. The first thing you need to do if you can is put a custom recovery. But the fact that it boots up at all is a plus. If you don't have a custom recovery you need to find a update.zip straight up factory deal. That may help you a lot.
