Hi guys,
pls can u tell me,what is new in #49 rel.?
I want to instal that #49,im currently at stock 2.2.2 rom.
My BB is : 1035.21_20110405
Phone is rooted and new cwm recovery installed from ROM Manager.
I wonder what works and what doesnt work in this #49.
Can i freely install this rel. or should i wait for some new rel.
Im not advanced user.
Thank you
Well, thats for you to find out with your curiosity.
Allow me to ask you. What is the difference between Android froyo and Gingerbread? Haha, huge different. Install it i believe you wouldn't regret.
As stated, video fails sometimes, but i haven't faces any fail recently... Other then that, i personally thinks its flawless.
Cheers goodluck
Thank u for reply,
i'll install it , just need to find SD card large enough to do a backup first.
Just to ask...
steps?
1.backup stock rom and data from recovery
2.clean/wipe data
3.install zip from SD card
4.wait to complete updating
5.enjoy?
am right?
One more question...
Battery life? Now my battery life is about 10h most.
Thank u
It doesn't matter an advanced user or not. And in that case, the CM7 nightly builds shouldn't be much of a problem for you. I haven't tried the CM7#49 personally, but i tried the #48 build and i found it to be pretty good. everything was working fine.

The battery well, its good.. I'm able to get 15-17h on the mondego firmware, No OC/UV, except for minimal frequency on sleep and i keep the brightness as low as possible..
You can see all changes here...

Guys,thank u for ur reply
I have cm7 on my i5700,SGS...and i want it on O2X...
i like CM7 and i'll stay with CM7
Uh...one more question...
CM7#49 contains google apps like market,mail...? or i have to install zip gapps-bg-20110613-signed.zip via recovery?
Why don't you just read the CM7 thread? Everything is written there:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 7 to your Optimus 2X (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Root your device
2. Install ROM Manager (search the market for it, no need to use the Premium version), and from there install ClockworkMod Recovery
3. Do a Nandroid backup!
4. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
5. Install the ROM
6. Optionally install the Google Addon
Thanks for reply,i‘ll do that.

Hi all,
I've been a long time lurker and not had any reason to post until now as I've found most answers by reading...
The last update I did LA1, wiped data and apps and I spent ages re doing them.I was aware of this and prepared to put the time in to restore my GNote.
I now have a rooted phone and it is set up just as I like it. I have backed it up with Titanium Backup, and have Titanium Restore app. as well as CMW
I would love to try LA4 however am dreading the full wipe scenario: with downloading apps, loosing data and seting up home screens as I like them again. It can be done but very time consuming.
My Question is: Will Titanium Backup/Restore and/or CMW put my phone back to where it was prior to firmware update, with home screens, APN, E-Mails as it was but with a phone that now has new firmware?
OR: Do I need to reconfigure the home screens, font, etc. post firmware update?
LA4 is non wipe version, you won't lose your data.
For information just, Titanium backup can restore your data like bookmark, settings(fonts sound country etc), homescreen shortcut (no widgets n folder) as well all user application with data.
Home Folder can be restore with Mybackup Pro.
It is not advisable to restore system data(you will see red coloured in TB) to avoid mess up new firmware.
Great, will give LA4 a go then.
I assume ICS will be a full wipe.
Can I use Mybackup Pro to get my GNote back to the way I like it?
Or do I need to re download all my apps and reconfigure all the home screens?
Thanks for the quick reply
i wold have thought that ICS would be a full wipe but apparently someone said that on a different handset it wasnt a wipe and just upgraded over the top

Desktop Folder can be restored with Mybackup Pro only. Rest of the things you can do with either TB/Mybackup.
Widgets you need to configure manually. niether can do that(android OS limitation)
Some complex widgets have options to save configurations, so if you do this, and then backup app data, you should be able to restore it on the other side.
I have had odd problems in the past with backing up and restoring apps after updating the system, so I have just made up my mind to do it manually every time. I almost find it fun now because I always try something different than before. It is time consuming, but I learn a lot about how I can best use my devices this way. My 'must have' list of apps stays pretty streamlined because of this.

Full wipe or not, I would still do it. No better way to introduce phantom issues than by leaving remnants of other systems on your device. LA1 to LA4 is not going to matter much IMO, but GB to ICS...I wouldn't trust the install to catch everything.
Thanks for all the info......

I will probably be doing a full wipe for ICS, as Beestee says, less chance of problems.
Will give LA4 a go if nothing else good practice for upgrade technique...
May also try a few costum ROMs as well......

Yeah this is right. When i flash a new rom i clear data & cache in cwm and then flash the rom, install titanium backup and resore and it puts everything as it was, with two exceptions as far as ive found. Bluetooth is not set to visible as it was before and it doesnt set my wallpaper, takes 30 seconds to sort out so apart from that its fantastic, i was surprised at how flawless it does it.
I have another question:
Iam using ClockworkMod recovery to make a full backup to my phone (HTC) so I can restore my phone back as it was before installing a custom rom I did not like or when I messed up with system file etc etc,
I can not do that with my rooted Note!!! I can not find backup and restore options in my ClockworkMod recovery!!!
What version of CWM are you using? I'm using 5.0.7 (or similar, dont remember) and i can do backups

1)Best way is Nandroid backup means goto CWM recovery and there select BACKUP and whole rom with all ur settings, apps apps data will be backed up on MEMORY CARD(sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/)
2)Just goto CWM do wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache
then goto advanced and wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats
then Select install zip from SD CARD and Start Flashing Zeus.zip that you downloaded and copied to SD CARD.
After Flashing Again do Wipe data and factory reset and Reboot your system
3)I never faced this cache memory low problem but yaa in new stock ROM v20o LG updated Low memory killer parameters so this will eliminate any lags..
I use android Booster app from play store and Set its Auto Optimisation ON so my phone Never get laggy and i use Stock Rooted v20_o btw..
Oh god its like not written for me to update or what :S !
tried unlockroot and superoneclick many times starts with killing ADB server then ends with FAILED TO GET SHELL ROOT and not rooted
any ideas ? sry for bothering
Hey...if you cant root, use smartflashtool to come back to 2.2 then root it, install CWM and install zeus
(Do erase cache, dalvik, factory default)
Btw the problem is not cache but your ram gets full quickly
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
thanks bro but when i got in smartflash tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803 says i got to flash to bk v10A 1st ?!
and if its a yes its also written erases everything on phone..how can i back up my stock rom then to get bk to warranty ( when i wnt ) if i cant use cwm? and how to back it up?!
sry its just confusing me .. thought its gonna be easier xD
- and about ram or cache..it doesnt really matter what is it to me but is there a solution for that if i face it in the new cust rom ? cuz its so irritating i have to clean it up like every hour
v10 is right. It's 2.2, which is rootable with superoneclick.
theaks30 said it already, after you've flashed v10/2.2 and rooted via superoneclick, you can install cwm and flash your favourite rom.
And if you want to restore the stock rom, simply flash the v10 with smartflashtool again and you've a clean non-rooted stock rom.
But if you're phone gets a hardware-error, and you can't turn it on, you logically can't flash back to the stock rom.
Hope, I could help you.
sry but this's not really helping
and im not a tech guy so if anyone please can answer with a clear detailed answer to help i'll really appreciate it
Now i have a stock rom froyo ( unable to get shell root ) and simply wants to upgrade with a custom rom like CM7 or Zues 6.2
1- Want to make sure to get backup of the stockrom with apps and data and everything
2-wanna solve the problem of ( Unable to get shell root )
Smartflash thread intro says IT ERASES EVERYTHING when i flash so is there a way to backup the rom before rooting or flashing or even with this smartflash that i dunno?
Really wishing a clear detailed answer before i get desperate with the new OB xD !
Hmm, okay.
So, which froyo version do you have?
2.2.2 Android Version
this's what i found in About Fone xD !
Yes I know.
But wicht firmware (v10a, v10c?)
sorry not following :d where can i find this ?
Im in egypt and same about the fone if its gonna make any help
Oh w8 i found it : V10H
Okay, I don't know the firmware names in egypt.
Maybe it's the old one. (like v10a in germany)
Then you can root with gingerbreak.
Google for it.
If not, you can use superoneclick, but you've to add these steps with cmd.
http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/lg_p9..._optimus_black_root_methoden.html#post1626677
I know, it's german, but I think you understand what to do. If not, ask me, then I can translate the part.
Good luck!
Edit: If gingerbreak is not working, this should be much easier.
Download this http://www.mediafire.com/?hhzc5k4189540hu

Disable your firewall and run blackjack.exe (Don't forget to reactivate your firewall after this )

i have searched for 2 hours before asking
is there any difference between 4.0.4 official roms and if there is what is the best one i tried LRG open germany but my note freeze a lot on it
your note freeze cause of installation route you followed.
they are different cause of regionalization stuff. Knoone knows exactly what it means, cause Samsung has no external changelog
sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
yes, you have not followed correct method of installation. Flash a GB rom via pc odin, root it, do 3 wipes in recovery and then go ahead with new plans. Its a full proof method.
Each new release of Samsung rom is first covered here in this section...just search . Readers are eager to flash and announce the changes they see...like new keyboard look ( LR6), sim lock ( LRk), signature unlock, video popup ( LRG ), new root method etc etc, just read those threads.
thx for your help i have installed gb and flashed through mobile odin i now have cm9 on my note which is fine no freezes but everything that makes the note special is gone before that i had LRG but too many freezes i think the reason is too much apps i have about 500 because this is my first android device and i like to know everything about it
i use go backup for restoring the apps each time i dont know if this is the problem

500 ??? Feeling like I will have the whole world in my note if I would follow you. I have only 210 applications including system lol
Do not restore backups unless you know what your doing.. The best software for restoring apps its titanium backup and you gotta activate the unknown sources option.. Also you gotta create a filter in order to only Backup your apps and data not system apps or data..

Dr Ketan has written a very guide on how to back up and restore. OP, plz check his signature.
you are talking about this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837984
i actually don't use nandroid backup so i don't trigger the brick bug
and i dont like titanium backup because as i said i have about 500 app and using titanium i have to press install and done for each one
gobackup is much easier to use and more simple and i can save everything including sms, wireless passes, call log
and i use nova launcher so all my homescreens and ui is backup
if you would like to use gobackup do not install the latest version it keeps giving force close

well cm9 says in first post dont restore...
Go to recovery, clean with format system, data and sdcard on safe kernel recovery, better take out external so you dont wipe that.
wipe cache and dalvik
then instal cm9.
dont use backup for recovering apps cause: first post says so
and because different version roms use different data structures, you are bound to run into errors
because just because.

Hello everyone , i have had this problem since forever , i can't get a normal google play store
first , the ( APPS ) homepage of the store doesn't update it self meaning that it gives me recommendations once and forever
2nd , i can't access the homepage of the market by clicking the top left google play store icon ( it's just not clickable ) , iam running the latest triamislim rom on ICS and i have the latest GAPPS installed :s
i have had this problem on JB as well , i tried marketunlocker / market enabler . but they don't seem to do much but show me the payed apps
Try this steps :
1- go to CWM and >> wipe data/cache/dalvik ;;;
2 - format system .
3- install any Gingerbread rom using odin.
4- open google play and install any app.
5- done.... you can flash any rom without problems now !

Best & simpelst is to come fresh from stock so when u encounter problems during process its easier to help so we dont have to ask what changed, when it occured (we dont know all the changes that have been made in the past) & come with solutions that"ll fix it or **** it up more & ull be more frustated. Just say the easy "factor". Plus I know in most cases it will be running without problems afterwards & ull be satisfied with x-bean or whatever rom u prefer. Just start over from "scratch" starting with flashing 3 file stock rom via odin.
Here odin & pits use 512 tick repartition: http://db.tt/yHvd2Brm
JVU rom: http://db.tt/z0WBjcFk
Flash it
When done flash
Cf root: http://db.tt/2Qre1j2k
Now u rooted go into recovery, do a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik), flash custom rom of your choice. U may have to flash custom 2 or 3 times. I recommend x-bean cuz its Running smooth & stable here. Hope u like it 2.
My tip is make a nandroid backup when custom rom is just installed & running fine. And make some more at several points of satisfaction when personalizing your rom
If you make changes afterwards & problems occure & cant fix it or find a good solution, u can just restore with the nandroid backup so u dont have to start from scratch again. It just saves u time in the future.

Did the problems also occure in GB? Or did it start when u were on jb? Either way try JVU like i mentioned in previous post, see if it makes a difference in gb. & maybe the gapps u flashed werent suitable for the jb rom u chose. X-bean has it included by the way.
About x-bean I would give it a try. Experiences are just opinions. There are always complains about every rom. But for me I dont have problems multitasking, battery life i can manage a working day, average i think between 4 or 5 hours screen on time at lowest brightness. When I go 2 sleep & wake up (mostly 8 hours) battery draining between a 2/5 %. I keep wifi on.
My settings LiveOc 120, big mem 404, ondemand ui, noop/sio, rasd 1024. Still satisfied Running smooth & stable
But at the end its on u to try it out.just flash a couple different roms, experience it & make a choice. The beauty of it is, if u dont like (anymore) flash another one till u find ur "dreamgirl"
