Do you have to clear data and cache before installing? I remember bootlooping old phones because of that.

no need to wipe says instructions. i didnt and ive flashed both w/ no problems. also, u need to be on 890 for it to work
Calendar seems to be missing...can anyone confirm this, and how do we get this back?
Waited over an hour. I was on 890.. not sure what I did wrong. Maybe I had a faulty 890? Say it didn't flash 890 and I was on stock, where would that put me? Phone is still bootlooping.. when it first turns on, shows motorola symbol with dual core, is on for a few seconds then flashes back to black, you know like before the boot ani. The pulls up same screen.. any way to get back to stock?
Btw- thank you for responding so quickly.

Are you using hashcodes recovery or koush's?
If you're using hashcodes just restore a nandroid by booting into bp tools.
If you're using koush's then you're probably gonna have to rsd flash the xml. You could probably moto-fastboot just the system partition and be fine
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Trying to get into bp tools. Won't even boot into cwm, does same boot loop.. uhh am I done for?
Btw hashcode sir.

Yeah sounds like your /system is pretty botched up. If you just usd rsd lite and flash the xml/sbf and then re-root then install either recovery(I recommend koush's going forward cause of roms) koush's will restore nandroid backups made on hashcodes recovery.
*if your nandroid is on your internal memory you're gonna have to copy it over to your actually sdcard.
Hopefully you made a nandroid haha

Power down. Press the 'm' button on the keyboard. While keeping it pressed it, power the phone up. You'll get a menu wiith bptools and ap fastboot, etc. Volume down navigates, volume up selescts. Go to ap fastboot. Then plug your d3 into your computer and let the drivers instal automatically, then click show devices in rsd and it should be there

Install Bionic Bootstrap. Open app, press bootstrap recovery. Exit app.
Open Rom Manager, flash clockwork recovery.
It should work after that!

Once you Boostrap installed it will also mean the "reboot into recovery" function in ROM Manager will work.
Worked perfectly thankyou

ok so i tried to flash over one of the roms from the droid 3 section and i got failed to flash and now well its stuck and can't do anything i can get it to connect to rsd lite but wat ever i try to flash nothing works its stuck at failing at 6/18 something about cdt.bin neeeeeeeeeeeeed heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp
backup
Can you get into safestrap or bootstrap and did you make a back up? If so you are in luck.
Have you tried the quick unbricking script in lieu of RSD Lite?
www.bit.ly/D3UnBrick
Just download the 450ish MB .zip and unzip it to your desktop, connect with the stock USB cable, boot into AP Fastboot, then double click the "CLICK HERE etc." batch file.
What are you using for a bootstrap? The droid 3 bootstrap or safestrap? What were you on prior to flashing, and what did you attempt to flash? What were your steps EXACTLY?

Good call here. I only jumped to quick SBF/FXZ because he had tried RSD already.
**Side note** When RSD failed for me a few times previously, I put my nuts on the chopping block and just closed it out and restarted RSD to run it again, against all warnings.
Recently, I have been doing some research on android os development trying to figure out a way to get android 4.0(ICS) successfully running on LG Thrill. I see that it's possible from this YouTube video http://youtu.be/YjEDY5yh90M BUT I have a few questions regarding some info found during my research. The Galaxy Nexus is equipped with a TI OMAP 4460/Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 chipset/CPU and the Thrill is equipped with a TI OMAP 4430/Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 chipset/CPU. The difference between the two are explained in detail here http://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-texas-instruments-omap-4430-and-vs-4460/ Other differences between these two devices are display, bluetooth hardware, wlan hardware, camera. Can an experienced Dev give me some input on whether I'm in over my head or on to something?
I have an sgs2 and would be interested in helping port ROMS over to the thrill but don't know enough to really get started...
I have been trying to get ICS on the thrill using this guide bit.ly/NCledu and ended up with this bit.ly/NrZ3YY It won't boot, but I was hoping an experienced developer could work with what I have.

Does anyone know how to get into fastboot on the thrill? I tried using
Code:
$ adb reboot bootloader
but it just restarts the phone and doesn't put it into fastboot mode, which I need to flash my compiled ICS.

I'm trying to get into the fastboot boot loader to see if my compiled ics will work on the thrill. I'm following the steps on the android source website which says
To flash a device, you will need to use fastboot, which should be included in your path after a successful build. Place the device in fastboot mode either manually by holding the appropriate key combination at boot, or from the shell with
Code:
$ adb reboot bootloader
Once the device is in fastboot mode, run
Code:
$ fastboot flashall -w
The -w option wipes the /data partition on the device; this is useful for your first time flashing a particular device, but is otherwise unnecessary.
I need to get into fastboot to flash it. I have CWM installed also.
i think you can just use CWM recovery
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
If y'all get ics working be so happy
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
now when I try the fastboot flashall -w command I get
error: could not load android-info.txt
and when I look at the file it only says board=

So far no luck because I barely have any clue as to what I'm doing, but I found something very interesting. If you search on google "cm-kang appspot" open the first link click lge on top and then p925 Thrill 4g, it shows a changelog for what looks to be cm9. I don't know if, where, or when you can get cm9 for the thrill, but it's interesting that it shows ics.

Nahh. No nightly has ever been compiled for P925. None will be expected until official ICS drops.
As for compiling, if you have an img to flash using fastboot, you're out of luck since fastboot does not work on the O3D/Thrill. What you can do is loop mount the img in Linux, extract the files and put them in a zip file, set up the necessary updater-script and flash it using CWM. It should do the same as doing fastboot.

Thanks for the info, but I figured out I was doing it wrong and I don't have the right drivers or something for the wifi.
Had a brain fart earlier and started to install a backup over the stock rom. Pulled the battery as soon as I figured out what I did, and now it won't go past the red M. When I try to flash via RSD, it gets stuck on #5, and reads
"Failed Flashing Process. 5/24 oem fb_mode_set -> Phone returned FAIL."
Any ideas? I can't find the files for the one-click recovery, and trying the other threads' suggestions didn't work.
