Are there any better radios i can flash to the OG droid by motorola? If so, where can i find them? I assume you flash them with rsdlite as an sbf

Hi,
as anybody knows the bootloader of the the Motorola Milestone is signed so no custom ROMs can be loaded. As far as i know the bootloader of the original Droid isn't signed and can run custom ROMs like CyanogenMOD for example.
Anyway... yesterday were on "http : // and-developers.com/sbf:milestone" and saw the SBF files for all Milestone bootloader versions. They can be flashed with RDSLight just like normal SBF files.
The question now is: Is it possible to flash the the Droid bootloader on a Milestone device? If this is possible the Milestone should also be able to run any ROM like the original Doid.
No.
This was tried at the start of the year, it ended up bricking the phone.
Droid is CDMA phone, Milestone is GSM. So they're not compatible with each other.
This question has been asked many times already. Don't you think an idea like yours would have already been tried out by now?
Do I understand this right. If I unlock my Droid 3 for T-mobile using this guide for changing the ROM and radios

I will have T-mobile service but I will loose my Verizon service and the only way to revert back to Verizon is to use the stock XT862 ROM or will I be able to change between T-mobile and Verizon with the flashed XT 833 Rom and Radios?

You can switch radios without SBF. Just edit the two or three lines in the build.prop needed for GSM and connect your phone to a computer, flash the SBF radio.img or the radio.img included in that thread.
Disregard
I was on verizon galaxy nexus for over two years. I wanted better radio performance, so i got a moto x. Nexus bootloader was unlocked and I was a bit of a crackflasher.
I have unlocked bootloader on moto x and installed twrp and supersu.
I did all this before taking firmware update, so I can see how it runs on 4.2.2. I ran it awhile and wanted to try kk out. I downloaded the ota update and went to have it autoflash, but instead, it rebooted into twrp.
so, I have downloaded rsdlite (i used to have a droid x, so i am familiar) and will get the 4.4.2 firmware downloaded too.
Q: can i flash aosp 4.4.2 roms with my x in it's 4.2.2 state or do i need the 4.4.2 update first?
Q: are there standalone radio (baseband) files around I can download and flash in recovery?
Thx!
RSDLite when you have an unlocked bootloader?
Grab the 4.4.2 sbf, extract the individual imgs, then flash with fastboot.
You will find the moto x is no nexus I'm afraid. Not a flashaholics phone for sure. There's just a few ROMs....not a lot of mods, and whatever you do, once on 4.4.2....never downgrade. It can cost you your phone. Dev edition or not.
Just a heads up!!
BTW....not knocking it....I still recommend it to everyone I know!!! Except the couple rooting and tinkering types....then I recommend the N5 hands down.
update : upgraded to kk firmware with rsdlite. bootloader still unlocked. I am on Eclipse now and enjoying it.

I moved from a galaxy nexus last fall to the X. I definitely flashed constantly... now with an unlocked bootloader (MotoMaker!) I don't have the need. Xposed is all you really need to get features you want, unless you just like to tinker.
Moto turbo have another radio img than moto maxx? Anyone check files?
Has anyone been able to fully boot a VZW XT1060 with only updating the modem to the version provided in the 5.1 SBF and keeping the bootloader at the version from 4.4.4 or lower? If I'm not correct, updating the modem to the Verizon 5.1 version is the only way to get a fully functional speakerphone. However, I am trying not to upgrade my bootloader and kill my chances of being able to downgrade. Any thoughts or personal experiences with trying this?
With a 5.1 VZW modem and 4.4.4 VZW bootloader, I get stuck in a bootloop at the initial "M" screen.
**Also, sorry for not posting this in the Q&A Thread.
You are right, the VZW 5.1 modem will cause bootloop w/ KitKat bootloader. You'll also notice that the in-call speaker phone won't work w/o updating the modem files which requires updating the bootloader.
