run the downgrade script and flash the ruu from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705913
it will downgade your hboot and put gingerbread back on. then you can ota to the newest update and sent it back for warranty.
all you need to do is follow section 1 from that guide. dont do the s off bit ;p
make sure your running a custom rooted rom like cm7 or icecold sandwich and usb debugging is enabled.

Download the file in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180688
Then put the adb.exe file in your windows directory.
Enable USB debugging on phone.
You should be able to get it working from there.

[Q] my phone is impossible to root

I have LG P880 with jelly bean v20b EUR-xxx, i have tried every rooting method i could find and nothing works, i have all possible drivers i could find, my phone is ok and so is my usb cable, my phone simply isn't responding to anything i try.
I probably could downgrade and root, but i want root to jump into custom rom world, so thats not what i want to do.
if anyone could help me that would be great.
PS my only android experience is with sony ericsson x10i and rooting, unlocking bootloader and installing custom roms with it was way different.

In that case your ADB, your PC drivers or your phone are not set up correctly. Make sure you're not using a USB 3 port, deinstall and reinstall the drivers, re-download ADB and check that. See if ADB can see your device when it's plugged in ...
There are guides and instructions for all of this already.

First you root, than you unlock the bootloader.
Yeah, unlocking the bootloader isn't related to phone being rooted. Try this method, worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180688

It is possible to root a device without custom recovery. But u need a PC or another android device with root and necessary cables.
Yes it can be roted without a custom recovery. However, you need a pc for flashing the patched boot.img
