hi guys , i have opened this thread to exchange opinion with other users..
I have installed volume plus 1.8.1.0 in both cyanogenmod temasek and in stock rom 20q..I want to see the opinion of other people around the world..
My personal impression is the stock rom 20q is so much louder,
with volume plus i have reached + 10 without distortion..
Somebody knows what's the cyanogenmod problem?I reach max +4 , if i set
+10 like stock 20q is a total distortion..
Nobody is interested?
This is the only thing in cyanogenmod wich i don't like..
If someone has the same issue , plz post a reply..
With the camera i have resolved the fps issue with Kostia mod , but with the audio i have tried a lot of things and i have always the same issue..
I'm actually using volume + but when i set the volume to +10 like stock rooted 20q in cyanogenmod the sound is distorted..
Plz post a solution..

as far as i know, volume plus only work on cm7 or cm9, its built for cm or miui only, not for stock.
u will not see any differece in stock toms, but never tried.
nope , it works very well on stock rooted rom 20q..+10 the sound is awesone..
In cm7 +10 is distorted , +5 is the maximum setting,but the sound isn't louder like +10 in stock rom..

Same problem, I love cm7.2 but come back to v20s for that problem. If I miss calls and sms notifications a phone is useless

To reduce the in call volume, simply hit side buttons (up / down) during the voice call. It always work for me.
did that bro but at low level im getting louder voice???

Are you saying the volume buttons do nothing, or when you press volume down it instead gets louder?

Then something didn't get flashed correctly. I had that issue once with the volume buttons reversed. Flash again with the correct kernel and such. In the meantime use volume up, he he.

hello , iam currently on Amestris V4 , but i have got this issue on almost every rom since i went from Eclair 2.1 to gingerbread 2.3.X+ , sometimes it's okay , the speaker volume ( the back one ) is also lower than normal , my ROCK equalizer in stock music player makes sound very ugly specially with the bass , it sounds like playing veryyyy loud music on very weak speakers
in addition to scrolling lag in any thing , like contacts menu , music player menu , browser sometimes , about kernel iam on Semaphore JVS , and i get this behaviour on any rom or any kernel , ext4 feels like rfs
i get also TOUCH lag from time to time ( in very short periods ( almost always )
iam looking for fixes all day long , for like 4 months so far ((( please help if u can , inbox me

Try a complete wipe
flash any kernel with cwm like darkcore or galaxian or speedmod
clean your dalvik cash , your cash partition
then go to mout , and do a wipe to your system file ( it will delete your rom )
then flash a fresh JVS stock
if the problem is still there , try going back to Froyo and see if it is fixed
ANYWAYS there is an Incall volume slider in your sound settings, try set them lower
Are you sure you're flashing the correct software for the correct device? I've only ever seen problems like these when people flashed the wrong firmware (ie., i9000 firmware for a captivate device).
wow, i actually feel the incall volume is too soft !
If possible i will like to increase in call volume too.

Hello, i am using CM7 Temasek's kang, and it is awesome, the best rom ive ever tried for the O2X, no slowdowns whatsoever, but there is a little problem with it, the sound of the speaker is very, very low, ive tried Volume+ but just activating it the sound is distorted.. (Also tried WIUI and it had the same problem)
Can someone help me, i like the sound on the stock rom its much louder and i would like the same loudness on cm7, can someone help?

Thanks, it is much louder now, although if i put it full it distorts the sound a little so i put a little less than full and now its great..
the cm9-based roms' (owain, nova, pandroid) sound is EXTERMELY small and broke that even l can't hear the sound
except incall sound and earphone sound (i mean while i jacking my earphone, earphone works fine)
i don't know the reason but i'm sure this isn't any installing problem
CM9 ROM for O2X tend to have lower volume than stock, but not so low as to be complained. I have tried all ROM above and never experienced that.
Maybe something is wrong in your configurations..maybe some app is limiting it.
Or it maybe hardware problem of your speakers!! If you still have warranty, contact the supplier. (Flash stock ROM/unroot before that!!)

In stock roms the sound just works fine
but in only cm9 based roms sound disappear
i dont know what this happen....
P.S. in cm9 selfkang2 the sound works...(rmcc's)

Have you checked it after wiping everything and flashing the ROM but without restoring the data? It can be some of you setting that makes sound off, and that specific setting data is recognized in Domination, nova, paranoidandroid but not in stock and other CM9 kangs.
Its a weird problem as actual sound drivers have nothing to do with ROMs. And there is no similar complain in ROM thread either. I guess you just have to work with working ROM and try above ROMs after they get an upgrade.
i have noticed the same. early builds of cm9 the sound was fine (unlocking screen selection etc).. the further on we have got the sound seems to be getting quieter.. only fix i seen was in qwians builds they had a system volume slider in sounds this helped alot with sound. not as good as stock but better than normal cm9..

Im experiencing quite the opposite, cm9 roms seems to have louder sounds compared to cm7.

MiniCm7.2 is awesome ROM and I am using this rom as for daily use because of the following reasons.
1. FAST
2. BATTERY SAVING
and many more
I have observed only 1 problem in this ROM i.e LOW in-call volume. Volume has already been set to its higher limit using side buttons. Also i have checked lots of application from google store but all are waste. I have tried MInicM9,MInicm10 and volume is very impressive and it is more than minicm7.
I tried to copy Soundfx folder from CM9 to CM7 but nothing worked out.
So if anyone can help me to modify in-call volume to atleast 2-3 levels up, it will be highly thankful.
are you using case or some like cover for X8, ,, it reduce the signal and sound quality
No, my X8 is not covered with any plastic jacket or cover.
if u use CM9 my incall volume is increased as comparing with CM7.

Upgrade to the latest MiniCM7 nightly..
I have tried MiniCM7-2.2.1-shakira-UNOFFICIAL.zip (released on 2013-03-27) and same result low in-call volume.
1 more thing I want to add is that incall volume in cm7.2 is same as of default stock rom. But some sound fix has been done in CM9 / CM10 and the same is required in Cm7

I think alfs kernels use different drivers so my advice would be to install alfs8c-GDX with FroyoPro 2.5
It's faster than MiniCM7 and has excellent battery life. It's also the loudest of all roms I believe..
used FroyoPro 2.5 and sound is same as in CM7. If Any tweak let me know.

why you don't try Jimdem Tweaks? don't ask for the link.. use the HIGH TECH search bar,

Hi All,
Ive been running Cyanogen Mod for sometime now and its frustrating as the External Speaker volume is low, I go back to stock and its normal.
Ive tried a few apps that ive read in threads, but yet haven't been able to fix this, Does any have any info on how to get this back to normal volume, Music is a little low, but ring tones are very low compared to stock.

Latest CM or PA have the low call volume fixed, also using Yank555 kernal with the re-vamped boeffla engine solves any low call issues.

i am using cm10.2 official, my sound problem resolved for earpiece. when i take headphones and call some one , i have still low in call voice volume. by the way i have no problem with bluetooth headsets.

I've tried and tried using different custom ROMs on my S 3 GT-I9305, but I still have the same problem.
I'm getting extremely low inbound call volumes - I can't hear the other caller speak. It's especially bad when I try call-recording, which I need for my job. I've tried volume fix apps too, they don't work.
I understand Foxhound has a built-in call recorder for their S4 rom, but that won't install on my phone right?
So I'm left with trying to fix my favourite ROM, LiquidSmooth 2.9.
Can someone please walk me thru getting the right kernal, installing it and any other steps?

I'm running the PAC man rom on my I9305 and I had the same issue with sound. I flashed the AGNi kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339848) and now no more sound issue and some interesting tweaks to improve battery life.
