EQDKP 3.5 and m1ndh4x8r ROMs - HTC Salsa

Anybody interested in it?
If I get replys in this thread. Im going to port my ROMs to Salsa and make a thread.
state if you want odex or deodexed choose only one cause I dont have to much time uploading 4 roms.
in odex you get 117mb free space
in deodexed you get 44mb free
either use link2sd or data2sd but you will be the one to find one thats working cause
kernel gb2.3.5 salsa source not yet released in htc dev. therefore cannot add ext4 features that works with my data2sd by starburst.
Ok then I'll be visiting this thread.

seems no one is interested. now I know why its a facebook phone.

Im interested
The thing is its a small section with a few active members, so not everyone is online all the time
But we are interested

Hey buddy m also intrstd....
There r lot of people waiting for roms...
Hope yo get one soon...

only 2 people, thats good than none. I will be working on it on the day after tomorrow.
when I accomplish this. I will be a non dev mode and change my username. Be sure to remind me.

i m here...always...ready to test roms forever..day and night....just pm me (or a thread) if u want me to test your rom and report bugs or app or just any other thing designed or developed for SALSA.

I feel.. I'm the first person to contacted you regarding Rom development for HTC salsa..
Finally u are interested and working for us... Whole hearted welcome to you... We surely test your builds and we help as much as we can... Thanks a lot for your great response

You guys should be jumping all on this thread. M1ndh4x8r is the only dev who has got kernel functioning correctly for marvelc phones (and marvel). Big props.. take a gander at his work on Wildfire S board if you're skeptical. This dev (for sense) and Alquez (for AOSP) are the torchbearers or examples for the up-and-comers.. but no one quite measures up imho as of yet on the aforementioned device family. So I just thought I'd say a nice word

New ROMs are always welcome..

I've been longing for someone who can cook cyanogenmod rom for salsa which is not officially supported. Please give us a hand...thx a million

Thanks
I have flashed the 3.5 and it is really cool. I cant post in the development folder else would have posted for few features which are needed in the ROM.

sry. i meant the addons. I am new to this forum so forgive if i say something wrong.
Here are the list of addons that i feel would be of great help. I can not post it in the develp folder hence posting it here.
* HTC sense 4.0 screensaver with even weather details . (not just the ring and the 4 apps)
Can we hide the status bar in the screensaver. good if we can show the missed calls and unread messages count in the screensaver itself.
*font size of the the content in friendstream is too huge. we can see only one post. can we make the font size as small.
*gtalk app does not seem to reconnect properly on mobile network after attending phone calls.
*can we have HTC location widget. I had it in my desire z. It was really awesome (Its similar to the 'places' app but all the tabs are shown in different pages in the widget and we can flip to next page right in the homescreen itself )
*Mirror app
*Friendstream does not have twitter account support.

* HTC sense 4.0 screensaver with even weather details . (not just the ring and the 4 apps) Unkonwn as its not native on these phones
Can we hide the status bar in the screensaver. good if we can show the missed calls and unread messages count in the screensaver itself. Doubt it sorry
*font size of the the content in friendstream is too huge. we can see only one post. can we make the font size as small. i can't change mine either lol
*gtalk app does not seem to reconnect properly on mobile network after attending phone calls. thats odd mine does...
*can we have HTC location widget. I had it in my desire z. It was really awesome (Its similar to the 'places' app but all the tabs are shown in different pages in the widget and we can flip to next page right in the homescreen itself ) will have a look for it
*Mirror app will look for that!
*Friendstream does not have twitter account support. mine doesn't either..have to have main twitter app

Thanks for a quick reply.
The first attachment is the location widget i am talking of. its present in the desire S also.
The second is the kind of lock screen i am talking off. Is this possible for the salsa?
This rom seems stop working and freezes . I flashed it yesterday and so far it hass freezed twice. i had to switch it off by removing the battery. Any other way to bring it back to working state?
Once it freezed when i went to check the wifi hotspot option and second was when i tried to open an application.

This must be the htclocation apk i am talking off. found it in the sensation forum. I tried flashing it but it showed 'aborted'
could you please check this and try to port it to work with our salsa. HTCLocationupdater

i tried installing them of my own handset and still came up with not installed. it must be something to do with the rom its self. but you have to realize though these roms were built for multipurpose and most things are removed to make the rom more lightweight. i tried installing the htc mirror and ti won't accept it on 3.5 as this rom ws never made for use really...just be lucky you got a different rom to play with lol...the minor things can be dealt with in the long run

[ROM][28/02]Honeyfire Alpha 2

Yes, at last it's here. This is a basic port from the honeycomb full SDK and more doesn't work than does work, unfortunately.
What Works:
Touchscreen,
All buttons but home,
Network,
Root,
What Doesn't Work:
Anything that has fragments horizontally, aka the Settings.apk in Honeycomb
Sensors,
Wifi,
Sound,
Camera,
New lockscreen (Reverts to gingerbread style),
New launcher (Reverts to gingerbread style),
New notification bar (Reverts to froyo style),
But hey, it's the first wildfire port and many said it wouldn't happen

Rather than honeycomb which really won't suit our screen size and doesn't have many worthwhile new features (at least for wildfire), I was thinking of making a proper gingerbread AOSP rom with proper LDPI support.... I have holidays coming up and nothin to do It would be a great learning experience too, wanna join in?
OR maybe honeycomb would be fine too

Oh I didn't know. Just saw it in his thread. Maybe I'm a little behind because I don't really look at sense threads
That is a good idea, you can all stick together (devs) and do a different thing from cyanogenmod with gingerbread for exemple
Or work together with honeycomb or honeyfire
I think honeycomb will be fine if modified, fragments need rearranging and such, apps from gingerbread will need to added such as phone but all in all I think it can be successful.

TWQuickPanel ported to the Nexus S Status Bar
This is the 5 widget quick panel found on the i9000 SGS phone. The included widgets are Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sound/Silent, and Auto Rotation. When I get more time I'm going to be attempting to replace the Auto Rotation with the Wimax control.
Requirements:
1. CDMA NS4G running any vareint of the deodex GRJ90 Stock Rom
1.a. GSM won't be comparable with updated files.
2. CWM recovery, I'm running the 3.0.2.4 version
3. A nandroid backup
Install:
Nandroid backup
Download ZIP file.
Place it @ the root of your SD Card
Boot into Fastboot, choose Recovery
Choose NexusQuickpanel.zip and flash
Clear dalvik cache
Reboot
The theme of the panel is pretty generic and the clear status bar code is already in place in it. All you have to do is replace the png shade_bg with a transparent image and you'll have the clear status bar.
I Kanged the actual images for the widgets from a thread posted by criskelo found

TBH I don't know haven't tested it. You can nandroid flash this, and then return to your backup if not. Also you can have a zip with just the SystemUI.apk in it from your phone instead of a full back up just restore your apk over this one. I'm still waiting I need a copy of a deodex systemui.apk from the GSM to start on it. One question for you, are the roms from the GSM versions all compatable, meaning the stock SystemUI.apk on the T-mo and the rest all match up? I would hate to have to make like 5 versions of this thing!
just flashed it on the gsm nexus s ( I9023) .Already had a nandroid backup. Seems like it works ok !! HAven't tested everything , but no errors so far.. As far as I know all nexus s gsm versions have compatible systemui.apk, because there are no different custom roms for them..
I can post the systemui.apk from the nexus s I9023 if you want it ?

I tell you what run with it for the rest of the day. If you have no errors, which if you did you would have a)bootlooped b)had immediate FC when unlocking or c) had fc upon hitting one of the buttons on the widget. Looks like you are clear of all 3 so now the only thing left that doesn't match our phones is the values is ids.xml, drawables.xml, and public.xml that control the 4g which your phone doesn't have. Seems like to me this works as is and you just have some code included that will always remain dormant and to actually port this to your Systemui.apk to remove a few 4g calls wouldn't be worth it. Let's get a few more GSM people to test it and let us know for sure and I'll update the title of the thread.
I will be your guinea pig, and post it here if I find issues.. Haven't said it yet but: you did a great job it looks absolutely gorgeous !

Thank you. It's pretty plain jane as far as the pull down background but I wanted it to be something easy to look at if you don't want it themed and then if you do I'm sure the themers (myself included) will be pushing out some interesting looking ones.
This is great! Thanks for this incredibly useful feature! Things seem to be going well with ports of SGS devices, hopefully we can get a couple features like the SGS Camera and manual brightness adjustment by scrolling left-right on the notifications bar soon! Much much thanks, this mod worked like a charm!
One suggestion if possible, when you figure out how to change the widget elements, maybe replacing the auto-rotate with a flashlight, i think the flashlight is used more by a majority of users

Update, tomorrow I will work on the one bug found I missed. When you turn in the wifi, the image overlays for the waiting period but instead of turning to the on picture when wifi connects it returns to the off wifi picture but the indicator at the bottom shows its on. This will be a thorn in themers side so I'll upload the fix.

OP Updated,
New version is out v1.2, same download link, same filename so delete the current zip off your SD card. First time I flashed the new zip over the prior, it bootlooped on me, I pulled the battery and booted again, it booted just fine. This version fixes the wifi icon when it's on before it reverted to the off png even though the wifi was on. Also noted on OP that the GSM version seems to be working just fine for the NS4G cousins.
The wifi icon still does not stay green when wifi is active .. are you sure you uploaded a changed file ? even the date and time of the systemui.apk are the same ase yesterday's file
I'm showing the correct time stamps on the phone and pc can you verify if yours shows a modified date of 5/31 11:53am. The only file inside that should have a modified date is classes.dex. If you show all the right modified times then I'll have to upload it again but it sounds like you got the wrong file

Well done man! I tried this on the open soju with no luck last night, might be a compatability issue though.

Josh, you're the man! I was hoping you'd do something like this where we get a chance to voice what we'd like to see in it. Here are some of my suggestions if you don't mind?
- V6 Supercharger Script or the init file for Option #9 (or whatever the general public finds quickest)
- the newest gps tweak which has really proven to be great for me the last 2 days.
- Miui Lockscreen (if it doesn't already have that)
- Honeycomb Battery Icon
I'm sure I'll have other suggestions as time goes on. Thanks for all of your hard work. You're a good man and a great developer! Keep it going.

Can't wait!
I flashed this this morning, and this is very smooth. But man! I've forgotten how bland Samsung's OS looks after using custom themes from other roms.
And unless this will be in the upcoming nightly, do you have plans to include a percentage icons for the battery? It's a small thing, but I like having it to gauge how much power I have left, and to not have to always dig into "Settings" to check.
Other than that, this is a great rom that you have, ECOTOX.

Take care of your personal life before worrying about XDA. Dragonmodz can wait. Handle your business first, friend.
so quick update
I apologize for delays on kernel and rom updates. As you guys know I've been in a very bad spot with $ lately. I'm workin on stuff still just I only have a few hours here and there right now trying to get all this sorted out. Also I will not be working on the Hercules for anyone who was hoping I would (unless someone donates one) I had to switch to sprint because I cannot pay the 700$ i owe for my Tmobile bill (3 months behind [will get it paid eventually =/]) So now I have sprint and a nexus S =[ (which btw.....sprint has WAY slow data and it sucks T.T) I will finish updates as i can. Also I will not be workin on th NS4G for those that may ask...I MIGHT post my personal kernel for it, but updates will be unlikely/few and far between. The Vibrant is still my pride and joy and will continue to be =)

Redux HD2 Port Theme

REDUX ROM THEME
First I just want to thank Xylograph for porting the wonderful rom to our HD2
and Mendozina for creating UOT kitchen, MexDroidMod for giving me permission to share their screen animations in this theme. Also big thanks to Kfunk from Mod Nation for letting me port his Red theme. Once Xylograph updates the multilang version I will update the themes and add more blue and red touches to it. This was I dont have to update lite and multi version because this actually takes time. BIG THANKS TO ALL THE THEMERS THAT CREATE FROM THE GROUND UP. YOU GUYS DESERVE THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR THAT. I JUST SEARCHED AROUND XDA AND BORROWED ICONS AND PUT THEM TOGETHER
It took me some time to put these themes together since im just a NOOB. So please HIT THE THANKS BUTTON if you like the theme to give me motivation to continue to learn more and share with you guys
ALWAYS DO A NAND BACKUP WITH RECOVERY INCASE YOU DONT LIKE OR SOMETHING GOES WRONG< I GIVE NO RESPONSIBILITIES

NOTE: CLK users might get USB tethering issues because the themes BELOW were made with V1.1a files. I will update the themes when he makes the next MultiLang Update
Here are some screenshots
This theme was made with Multi Lang version of rom. Lite rom version users can use it but you will need 70mb system partition. The animations are so badass, and you wont find them on UOT kitchen, you will have to flash this rom to see them for yourselves
Download Link
http://www.multiupload.com/LU8ULZDKWQ
Installation
1. Reboot phone into recovery
2. Select option .8 AD Recovery
3. Select backup and restore option
4. Select backup incase you dont like the theme
5. Go back to AD Recovery and select wipe cache partition
6. Go to advance section and select Wipe Dalvik Cache
7. Select Install zip from sdcard
8. Find "Redux MexicanDroid Blue.zip" on your sd card and apply
9. Reboot and enjoy
This is another theme made with UOT kitchen but will only work properly with lite version. If you flash this rom on the Multi Lang version it will erase the multilang features.
Download Link

Installation
Follow the same instructions as post 1 for installation
This is my red theme version
This theme also has the MexDroidMod screen animations also and it was made with MultiLang Files and needs the MultiLang partition for it to work. So this means lite rom users can still use it as long as you change your partition size and trust me it is worth it for the animations
To install follow instructions on post 1

I made these themes with UOT kitchen for myself I just thought I would share them with everybody on XDA since this is my favorite AOSP rom. All the images are from UOT kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/. The animations on the Blue and Red them are from MexdroidMod and used with their permission.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=886184.. Im trying to learn how to mod themes and roms as a hobby, Android is like crack to me and this is just a start. Thanks to people like Xylograph and [email protected] that always answer my retarted questions on how to mod my own personal roms I hope to someday compile my own rom to share but thats going to have to wait. Im planning on getting more familiar with Ubuntu, Photo Shop, 7Zip and mixing and matching images from diffrent themes on my free time between fixing cars and time with the family. Ill post them if thery come out good.
Im using your themed rom now. I didnt have a problem on cLK because i made a UNIVERSALcLK.zip that can be used on all Magldr roms, ALL from froyo to gingerbread.
http://www.multiupload.com/G4F5LG1Y96
You can post it for all to use if they are cLK users. Hope this helps.
Great job on the themes.

I put that warning because Xylograph had made some changes to the frameworks to fix USB tethering on CLK and I didn't want them to have issues because I used the old frameworks
What you think about the animations?
If I'm home alone tonight I'm going to try to make a red theme like the first one, I also added new icons to some of the apps like browser, messages, music, mms, and don't remember which others
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
The animations are off the hook
As for learning Ubuntu if you follow that guide it will compile for you My problem is I have a Dual core processor computer that is like 4 years old Im running Vista on it
See my problem? with debian my computer was fine but ubuntu is like a hog when it comes to downloading sources and my cpu keeps freezing. Income tax time im getting the best cpu out there than im gonna start compiling. Im gonna try and create my own build like MIUI/CM 7 and try to come out with my own phone
That is my future plans. But im a flashaholic so i dont stay on one rom too long i done went from windows back to android. Confused and addicted.LOL
You plan on still developing for the HD2 or a new phone?

Lol, hey I have Ubuntu installed on my laptop on a 20 or 30 GB position running next to Vista, you think that's enough space? I might try to setup the kitchen and build from source tonight and have a stock rom built by me with my compiled theme

My wife first smart phone was a G1, then my HD2 but she hated Windows do much so she [email protected] and b$tched so much with Tmobile they let her get a Samsung Galaxy S. I think she really likes her that phone because she hasn't bugged me about a new phone until now sorry of that the Galaxy 2 came out but she's not bugging about much at all. She really likes hey Galaxy. That's how I got my first smart phone. Before that I had a flip Nokia phone lol. I'm up foot an upgrade but the new phones don't really get my attention. I might let get her get a new phone with my contract and wait for the Quad Cores or something like that, with this Redux rom it runs crack head fast lol

Wait till later on tonight, I added way more blue to the themed rom everywhere, added more blue to the system apps, changed some icons, added blue to the pattern lockscreen, browser address bar, pulldown background menu, USB status icons, and things I just can't remember right now but I will make a video of. I got the okay from Xylograph so I'm going to open a thread I'm the development section since it's the entire rom themed.

**Post your Sweeterhome setup.**

So it seems this home launcher is picking up some steam again... I thought maybe if I started this thread, we could get some devs on board and pick up support for this great launcher. Show some love and support by posting your screens and if you would like to share your setup, it's up to you (just don't forget; like I did to credit the original creator if you use their work... :0}
Edit: here is the link to download sweeterhome...

Thanks to Reinbeau, here is a tutorial thread since this launcher does have a little learning curve... :0}

Thanks for starting this thread, I do hope the devs work on the launcher again. That said since all the themes are available for download within the launcher, it would be nice if we credited the original ones too right? I see you're using a modded setup of my original theme (sheepo), would be nice if you could mention that too. I have made too many sweeterhome themes to post all here atm, will do later sometime. Look forward to seeing this thread grow.

It looks like on the website the last build was from February 10th 2012... Seems pretty new... :0}

That's promising.. might be worth investigating.. I downloaded the beta and wow it looks like it's boundary is limited by your imagination though a big learning curve for customizing it.

Indeed a very nice launcher, I loved this concept of share to care.
I didn't know it existed until someone posted some screen grabs in a thread I watch recently.
Peeked at the forum and it looks dead & overrun by spam bots. Is the launcher stable enough for daily use? I'm downloading some different themes & messing around & it doesn't seem that hard to do. Will probably play with other people's themes a while before trying out one of my own.

I have been using this as my daily. So far so good. It took me a little while to get used to, but when I started messing around with other themes it all started to make sense... :0}
Sent from my rectangle robot.
I used it as daily for a pretty long time. It's not that it's that hard to customize, it is that it takes so much time!
I played for a while now and it seems pretty straight forward to me for most things. I like how in the sample themes people have made all sorts of setups that go in totally different directions.
Some quick thoughts/questions in no special order:
- User Base: I'm glad to see a couple replies already. I really don't want to get into this if I'm the only one using it. Need to have some people to bounce ideas off of & ask questions.
- Is it still in development, or is it 'finished' just the way it is?
- I like the idea of a slide down to the bottom of the + for all apps, but oddly I'm not seeing the use of the other 3 sides when it seems (off the top of my head) easier to hide & un-hide everything on one screen.
- There still no way to get to the other screens without a slide? Would be nice to make a button with a special action of jumping to one of the other screens.
- In some of the minimal themes, I see the use of the Contacts plugin/widget/thing. I like the look on the themes, but I don't want to see ALL of my contacts, just the favorite dozen or so. Any way to do it that I'm missing, or anyone know of a normal Android Widget that can show something like that?
- Overall, I'm probably going to play for a while & save version after version on my sd card (need to see where is saves, btw) BUT at some point I will really need to think if this method works any better then just Launcher Pro/Go Launcher/more 'normal' android home screens.

One of the main reasons I started this thread was I noticed more and more people using this launcher. It really is amazing how much customizing you can actually do. I was hoping if we get enough users the devs would pick up support for this and more features could be added. I am not sure if there has been any movement on this but the latest beta version was dated February 12th 2012(according to the website.) I too have not really found much use for the other slides but I guess it is nice if anyone uses a lot of widgets or simply just likes the real estate. I have not found if there is a way to jump to another screen by adding a springboard function, but I am still new to the launcher... Overall I feel this is the best launcher I have used as far as customizing goes, being able to move widgets, pictures, text boxes, wallpapers, colors, anywhere on the screen, as well as hide/unhide items; it's a themers dream... Just my two cents... On that note... Let's see some more screens!!!
