Sticky Thread
Hi all
As the sticky list in this forum is so long, i thought it was time for a roll up thread. I feel it keeps the forum uncluttered, making it easier for us all to find what we need.
For now i have just added the existing ones. But please feel free to leave sticky requests in this thread, along with good evidence why they should be added.
Your friendly moderator
G Tablet Themes and Apps Sticky List:
[STICKY][APP][FIX] Touch Screen Calibration App
[STICKY][FIX] Full market (improved market fix) on G Tablet
[STICKY][Walls/Icons] "Making it your own" |Boot Animation for Roebeet's BOS|3rd post
[STICKY][ANIMATIONS]Custom Bootanimations Gtablet
[STICKY][INFO] Games and Apps that are working on Gtab
[STICKY][Guide] Creating and Flashing Custom Boot Logo's (Replace Viewsonic Logo)
[STICKY][HOW-TO] Google Apps - Update.zip installer w/ extras
[Guide] Replacing "G-Tablet" boot logo
This thread needs to be made sticky as well. It's got info. on how to change the /initlogo.rle file which is the second splash screen displayed on the gTab.
The threads for changing the first and the last eye-candies (ie., the boot splash screen and the boot animation) have already been made sticky.
Thanks.
Another minor thing: the description for the "G Tablet Accessories" sub-forum should say "Viewsonic G Tablet" instead of "Viewsonic T Tablet".

Have u tried searching this site using boot animation? I did and came up with a variant of CM's boot up screen. I am using the one where the android is dropping boxes to spell out CyanogenMod. Now I love to reboot the phone lol...

this website doesn't have a section dedicated to boot screens...if it does please link me to the section. I'm looking for a collection of android boot screens all in one place. I don't want to hunt and peck through threads looking for them. I'm hoping there is some where on the internet with some sort of organization similar to sidekick themes for instance.
geezzz, noobs!
You should search. Really.
This has been discussed countless times before.
This website doesn't NEED a dedicated section for boot animations.
What you will find, if you had bothered to visually scan the Nexus One forums, is a sub-forum titled: Nexus One Themes and Apps.
Within there I found these threads:
nexus one boot animation the attached file that you find there is a zip file. Unzip that to your computer, and browse the two folders it contains. That should give you an idea of how they are made.
[Boot Animations] & [Live Wallpapers] Nexus Holiday in a variety of colors more here with preview animations, so you can choose before you download.
{MOD} Bootanimation [Blade, Laser, Blazer] *Six6Sicks* 7/25/10 has a Cyanogen style to it. I like this alot!
After following those above, you should check out: [SCRIPT] Random Boot Animations v1.3 (Updated 2010-04-20, works on CM 5.0.6-5.0.8).
I haven't used the tool/script mentioned here.
But in the first post, you'll come across SAMPLE LIST OF BOOT ANIMATIONS. You'll find eight links to others.
(i bookmarked it. i actually would not have found it if i didnt search)
On a different subject, Live Wall Papers. Everyone loves them.
You might want to make your own.
[Live Wallpaper] Custom Creater 2.6 [SCRIPT] [WINDOWS]

I hunted and I pecked, and look at what I found!?
I'm going to call you lazy.
I'm going to call you a newb.
Don't be offended.
I've helped you alot more here than others probably would have.
You may even get more help. But really seeking, you aren't the first nor the last member wanting help to make their own bootanimation.
The information for this and countless other Android™ related projects are out there. They're in here. You just gotta invest in the time it takes to find them, just as I've invested the time and patience it took to copy/paste all those links for you.
PAY IT FORWARD, help someone else out.
If you find something worth sharing, please come back to this thread and post it.
Some other newb may need it.
Hey, I appreciate that you are trying to help me, but I've gone through all of this. I've been using xda since the original tmobile mda on windows mobile. Searching is nothing new to me, especially on the updated vbulliten version of this place.
This is not a matter of being a "newb" or being lazy. This is me asking a question (in the questions and answer forum) about any websites other than xda that might have a collection of boot screens similar to how the sidekick had a website that had nothing but themes.
I know its "cool" to tell people to search and to call them newbies (even when they hae been members longer than you) but you are completley missing the point of this thread.

I apologize for missing the point of this thread.
If my information hasn't helped you, I hope it will help others seeking this information.
I rooted my phone and got some over clocking stuff but i want moto incred, how do i install it and do backups n stuff im confused
Do a rain dance, throw your cell on the toilet, flush it, then pray to Thor for help : right after it you'll be struck by lightning, then you'll wake in the ICU with everything sorted in your head and your phone right by you and with the desired ROM flashed!
Seriously, read the FAQs, the Wiki and use the "Search" (on top of the page) before opening a new thread for asking something that already has more then one tutorial posted, please!
Mods, please close the thread, there's no use for it...
EDIT: OK, I've been kinda too ironic before, I'll play nicer now:
1st. Look at the first post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734802, there's a topic/paragraph under the title of "Installation".
2nd. If you need info/instructions on installing an backing up the OS, read this other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698059.
Cheers!
Please keep your inquiries unrelated to development in general section.
Also, please don't insult members. It is better to pass a link to the tutorial that you mentioned. In the worst case, ignore and let the thread bury itself if it contains repetitive questions.
Thanks for keeping xda-developers a peaceful and helpful place for all.
Hi All,
I know that there is already a Splash Screen Thread in HD2 WM6.5 section, but i think it would be nice to have one here to get together those, wich fit Windows Phone 7's clean style.
I already made one.
Dear Moderator,
If i am not allowed to have a new thread because of a few already exits with the same purpose. I am sorry.
If you like it, please hit thanks button!
DFT Splash screen
Hi Magdan,
i went back to WP7 yesterday and i was searching my Harddisk for a suitable Splash Screen.
I did many for the Android world and for WinMo but none for WP7 as it seems (oh my gosh my memory is so bad i am glad i got huge harddisks and a searchfunction )
I will drop a few in here soon for your pleasure. Was specifically thinking of some DFT Splashes as i use their ROM's on my phones.
Thanks for creating this thread.
PS: there's a guide on how to do HD2 Splash screens in my signature (in the Android Documents) which is using POF's nbimg.exe if anyone wants to do his/her own. Its easy once accustomed to the process.
[EDIT]
I don't find any suitable DFT graphics and in the meanwhile I went back to Android. If anyone is searching for splash screens just do one yourself.
[EDIT 2]
actually i managed to extract the DFT logo from their UltraFruit ROM. So here's the splash made from it, packed with LEOadvancedRUU for your convenience:

thanks for providing
will try it thanks
First, thank you for giving us this awesome community. I just have a couple minor issues that I'd like you to consider.
1) The new emoticons are very childish looking. Though I do like this one--> :cyclops:
2) "Sorry, you are limited to 8 thanks per day" is very annoying because whenever a new phone comes out and Dev comes on strong, I may need to give thanks up to 20 times a day.
3) There is no option to go back to the subforum I'm in. So if I'm on page 3 of a thread, I can't just click the back button on my browser to go back to the main page. I have to scroll all the way up to click on the subforum name to load the subforum.
4) None of the sub forums are listed alphabetically.
5) Mobile signatures are always placed inside when I quote someone. And there is no line in someones post to indicate something is their mobile signature. Gets a little confusing sometimes.
As you can see below, there is a line above my signature. It's not like that from the XDA app. And my signature is not quoted but it would be if I were on the XDA app.

1) The new emoticons are very childish looking. Though I do like this one--> :cyclops: Deal with it
2) "Sorry, you are limited to 8 thanks per day" is very annoying because whenever a new phone comes out and Dev comes on strong, I may need to give thanks up to 20 times a day. Prevents thanks spamming. It was unlimited, until people just went around giving thanks for no reason, this way you choose who you give thanks to, also, thanks dont make your e-peen bigger.
3) There is no option to go back to the subforum I'm in. So if I'm on page 3 of a thread, I can't just click the back button on my browser to go back to the main page. I have to scroll all the way up to click on the subforum name to load the subforum. Look for archer's toolbar extension. I have it. He included a button which you click that takes you to the top. Then you can click the subforum name.
4) None of the sub forums are listed alphabetically. There's usually like 5 of them anyway
The mobile sigs are just added text. Remember signatures for emails? You type in the text you want to show up, and when you compose a new email the text is already there, and you can modify it. Same with app sigs.

Answers (my trolling) in BOLD
Much of what you've asked has been answered above (thanks jaszek). For many other topics, and the relevant forum, have a look at "About xda-developers.com". That forum is dedicated to discussion about the site itself.
With that said, thread closed.
Hopefully this will be the new thread helping others out who are working with GO Themes Factory for creating new launcher themes. There seems to be a lack of unity when it comes to non-programmers helping each other out with this topic. Unfortunately the GO Dev team does not have their own forum where we are able to post questions or even tutorials for simple tasks.
I'm in the process now of creating a tutorial video (youtube) start to finish on how to create a theme using GO Themes Factory. For now if there are any questions relative to this topic please post it here so when it is answered others can gain from it as well.
If you are posting please title the post as follows:
Ex. [ICONS] Adding new icons not on their list.
Ex. [WALLPAPER] Sizing appropriately.
Ex. [.9.png] WTF!?
Many users on here decide to create their own .apk in eclipse instead but this thread is NOT for those who are educated in the field of programming. This thread will be strictly for users who have minimal knowledge about the process.
Spanks and have a great day
Jeremy
[CANT PACK] Blank Notice and a button "I Got It"
Hello,
I've been trying to pack my edited theme but failed, I keep having the blank notice with a button said "I Got It"..
Is it just me or a server down for packing?
anyone experienced the same?
thanx
For some reason yesterday their server seemed to be having issues. I attempted to simply open a theme and was having issues. Theres definitely a lack of communication between the GO dev team and developers/designers.
Also try a hard refresh on your browser. I use Google Chrome and typically find that if I use the site for hours on end it tends to freeze up more.
