I am posting this in here just to start discussion on the Beats audio mod ported to all devices by fuss132.
I don't take any credit for this.
What it does:
1.It really improves the sound quality.
2.If you like bass this is perfect as it gives balanced sound and bass.
3.The sound is clearer than before.
4.Effective for headphones than speaker.
How to flash:
Just download the attached zip and flash through CWM.
also if you would like to revert dont forget to backup. There is an uninstaller available though to be on a safe side backup.
CREDITS
fuss132 for making this working on all phones.
P.S.- If i helped in anyway don't feel shy to press the Thank you button.
wow thanks would try it right away
It doesn't make sound better:

Placebo effect
Useless...
Inviato con il mio P990 DjangoManouche!
will try it...
can it be ported to CM7 or CM9?
It seems line it's gonna blow my 2x's speakers ...the speakers (even the earpiece) seems to vibrate while listening to music, calls etc..
Is there any patch or something to remove it ?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
Maybe this is placebo, too?
I made a backup before trying it and restored my backup, this mod is useless.
If you want the speaker to be louder, install Volume+.
Hallo,
For all GB ROM means that it's okay also for CM7?
Thanks

Yes, on CM too it works good, but your phone speaker will start 'trembling and vibrating'- due to increased audio, make a backup before installing so that you.can get back whenever you want...
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
how do you actually uninstall this mod?? it is messing up my message tone sounds...
Either you have an old cwm backup and restore it, or delete all files the pack added.
I agree with Flix123. If you want more volume then go with Volume+. It even has Beats emulation as one of the equaliser settings.

yes it works on cm7 too. And if you feel that it is blasting your speakers keep the volume below 10 it works fine then.

I don't hear a difference..

haha yeah placebo effect, I thought it improved quality but it didn't. You can find some files in your system folder called "beats", don't know if it removes it completely.
GOOD JOB!

Any particular disadvantage of letting the beats audio files stay there? Any performance degradation?
Beats Audio mod Lg 2x
Hey Ya'll.
Found this and thought it might be heplful to anyone who might take a look at this thread.
This is suitable for the 2x, as writen on the page of course .
Personally I have force close with the sound in general when I flash it, but there is a description to copy/paste files using file explorer, which I did not understand . If someone could despribe that to me I would appreciate .

I hope it works on your phones!!
Enjoy.

Nice idea. I installed it, tried IC2 and IC3 and neither seam to show a difference. Perhaps a more detailed guide needs to be created? Aside from your color chart, the rest is kind of foreign to me.

any chance for some version for Nexus?
What a shame no nexus support :s

Working fine on SD Desire HD
I know this is posted in the HD2 section but when you say "NO NEXUS SUPPORT" are you referring to the Nexus One phone, or Nexus based builds?

They are saying Nexus builds are not supported and never will be. There must be something in those that is incompatible with this .

sup people, im using revolution rom and it is very good but the sound with my headset is not as good as when i was using cyanogenmod with that dsp manager that had bass boost..
is that possible in my current rom, ive read something bout voodoo an galaxy tuner but galaxy tuner just freezes when i select the sound option..
thanks in advance
Voodoo has bass boost, just download Voodoo control app from market and try if you have voodoo sound on your kernel.
If not, then flash kernel that has Voodoo sound.
Yeah, use voodoo control app and a kernel with voodoo sound. Or buy the voodoo control plus app and load the voodoo module - you need root. Voodoo has pretty nice bass boost.
Voodoo in conjunction with power amp pro.......awesome!

ok but when i open the voodoo app (plus version 1.0.5) i deont see any bass boost, all i see is headphone amplifier and some other things? where exactly should i enable this ? i need some help guys
Well, you should get the free voodoo control app from the market and flash a kernel with voodoo sound. If you want to just install the plus version of the app and load the module, you shouldn't pirate the app but buy it. If you had done that you would know that the current version of voodoo control plus is 3.0.3 and you need at least version 2.1 of the app to have the bass boost option.

Well, I remember some friends had such a problem but I'm not sure what was the solution. It's probably kernel-related.

I saw it yesterday. I just hate Beats and all their overpriced junk. Anyway, if you value quality sound you're will be more satisfied with the sgs. Its wolfson sound chip makes it one of the best DAPs out there. You just need voodoo and enable the options in the voodoo control app (did you check your inbox?). SGS just sounds amazing - I doubt that any Beats improvement in the dhd rom can make its sound chip better. Wolfson and SGS is the way to go - believe me. Almost no other phones come even close to the sgs with voodoo sound and a nice quality pair of headphones.

actually dude, i take it back, i have played around with the settings and it is good (enough) thanks for all the help man, if u find anything bout the market let me no. peace out
Well, I'm using the ROM from my signature. Anyway, voodoo is not not just "good enough" it is awesome. You should know that 50% of the sound quality comes from the Hardware and the software of the device and the quality of the music files - and the other 50% come from the headphones. The voodoo bass boost together with sennheiser ie8, for instance, will blow your mind. If you're using cheap headphones yo can use cyanogenmod or whatever and still complain. Just my 2 cents
edit: about the market - which version of the market do you use.? Are you using the new market or the old one?

thats true, but im also usin sennheiser but i dont know what model, im usin v3.0.27 or something, i tried updating and even downgrading to 2.x, im gonna flash darky's rom and see if that helps.
So, you're using the plus version of voodoo. Did you mount the module from the app? You should be able to hear the difference and especially the bass boost

OK, flashing went well, but I'm not sure that there are some benefits
There is no on/off, so it's hard to compare from memory
I don't trust it, but maybe I'll test it after a few reviews. There could be any disadvantages. I can't imagine this will make the sound really better...

confirmed too
I tested it now, too and the sound has really more power.
does the improvment apply only to music (speaker/headphones) or is the earpiece/headset quality also improved (call quality) ?
I don't know. The audio (music) isn't clearer only more bass. It's too much, so I remove it again.
How this works without replacing existing system files?
I recorded the sound via audio jack with and without beats audio mod to compare the differences. Audio levels and spectrogram are exactly the same...
I asked me that, too, but I don't know. Maybe it's only louder and so placebo?
It makes difference in headset when play music or video.
Yep, working great for me too
Well if not satisfied, there are other options for sound freaks - DSP Manager from CM is included in DjangoManouche 1.0, works great with (also included) Google Music. There is a free Equalizer app on Market. Even LG stock music player has some decent presets. Choices, choices...
Anyway, respect to fuss132

I'm on Temasek's Kang 69. Is there any difference whether I flash this or the original one from Fuss132?
The original port was by RockoDev. I have edited the OP and put the link to his thread. (RockoDev's zip file can be flashed on ICS too)
I am not sure whether this works or not. Supercurio has stated that it doesnt.
supercurio said:
Tested, with a precise and valid methodology I use in my work and reviews
All it does is strictly no change in audio output.
If you claiming you're improving sound quality while implicitly asking for donations (aka [Donate to me] button) I strongly suggest you to bring some elements supporting your assumptions.
I might add that by distributing random files and libs you're violating several manufacturers copyrights and intellectual property.

Audio is something special.
When you say there is an improvement, people tend to listen closer and perceive something different even if it doesn't exist.
That's called placebo.
All I'm asking is intellectual honesty in order to not abuse of this many times proven fact.
I also think placebo-mods are affecting negatively everyone's work and also the confidence XDA users have in developers.
The solution is simple: It improves audio? That can be measured then!
If you can't measure it, it means it does nothing.
Me, I measured, Galaxy S II. found it wasn't working. It's not an opinion or a critic. It's a fact.

Does this mod have any kind of clash or side effect on the default DSP Manager which comes in certain CM based & other ROMs?
Cause the last time I flashed Beats Audio Mod on my Mini, it did improve the sound for a while, but DSP Manager started force closing.
The next time I restarted my phone, my phone went silent like Charlie Chaplin
Please state about that kind of side effects too..
