"Another impressive factor is battery life..."
You are kidding me right? You are correct that this phone has wonderful features - it is the best phone by far. But one of them is NOT the battery life - everyone is working hard on getting the battery to last longer but stock from AT&T and moderate usage you will be lucky to get 8 hours out of your battery.
Just my opinion.

LOL I think my 2 year old Treo650 has better battery life then my tilt.
Just 8 hrs? That's bad.. When I used it came almost a day but ofcourse lesser than other devices. Anyway, I removed that line and added the poor battery performace at the end of the article.
Regards,
Carty..
It's all relative - for the all the functionality the Kaiser has (including very power hungry HSDPA) I think the battery's pretty good. I routinely get two days out of mine, which for a powerful PDA and phone combined isn't bad at all, IMO.
With this type of device, anything over a day is a bonus.
What's up with your site? I followed your link and Norton informed me that it blocked an attack on my computer.

"prise open" ???
TeleNav - while cool - is not obvious to the initial user that you have to have a cell phone signal for it to work. In other words - when you r cell phone has no signal and you cannot call someone for help, your navigation system iis also down. This is not a TILT problem - just that you mention TeleNav and I think it should be mentioned.
Thanks for listening.

batt life is trash, but if you have 3G to autoturn off after a couple of minutes you can get 48 to 70+ hours. Ilve been getting good life because of that. try it.
I have used Kaiser Tweak to turn things off automatically and you are right - it improves the battery life.
This gentleman is writing a review of the stock phone and had in the article that the battery life was wonderful. My comments were directed to THAT specific comment that the STOCK delivery ROM and battery life were somewhat less than wonderful.
Now -the fact that you can hack your phone and get a better battery response is also truly wonderful about this phone.
But I doubt that he wants THAT in the article.
Thanks
Bill
I use everything that my Kaiser has to offer, including GPS, long-term tethering, videos.. and I don't think that my battery life is bad. It's actually quite good, and when it comes to all the features that Kaiser has to offer - it's not bad at all.
On standby it can easily last for several days.. and since I charge/recharge/connect/sync it all the time, battery was never a problem for me.
Just my $.02

So - as delivered by AT&T - with no adjustments (like the normal person would make no adjustments and only have the AT&T store to help them) your phone had great battery life and you had no issues?
Or - (as I suspect) you have to download Kaiser Tweak and load another ROM or radio to get this significant good battery life?
This guy is writing an article on the STOCK AT&T TILT phone and it's features.

I should hope so - the Treo 650 has an anemic processor, little memory, and no 3G.
with an 8 hour battery life there isn't too many phones (in the US) that can get near that mark..
of AT&T's active lineup:
LG Shine: 2-3 hours talking
Razr (depending on software vers), Nokia 6555: ~4
w580's: ~7-8
comparing the tilt to other phones (from AT&T), that are currently on the line of active phones, it's on the high end in the top 3 or so..
of course, that assumes your not using BT, GPS, 3g (HSDPA is not an option on a stock rom/no tweaks)..
So, it is an upgrade, but yeah.. my 755p lasts years by comparison (but again, hardly use it as it doesn't have all the same fun features & tweaks)

Well, you don't need a V8 6-liters engine on Mazda Rx-7 or Rx-8 to make it runs damn fassst, do you? Furthermore, treo palm OS have some 3rd applications that make PPC WM users become jealous e.g callrec, takephone, pocket-tunes and many more.
BTW, does iphone have 3G, yet?!
For those who owned this phone, how's battery life so far for you?
very good, and getting better for each charge
with a normal varied use of the phone I can get almost 2 full days use - compared to the same use lasting only 1 day on my HTC Desire, Samsung SGS and my Iphone 4
That's weird. There are reviews of bad battery life..

do you have sources?
Like others mentioned. It shows rapid drained to begin, but gets really good after a week or so
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
not weird
Reviews were of early pre production units with an early software
Relased production units are naturally better - in many ways
From the first day the batterylife has been better that any of my other phones (see signature). My usage style is really heavy too. As others have reported it keeps getting better at least it has improved every day for the week ive had it.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
How does it compare to Nexus S and iPhone 4?
Anyone know of the above?
battery life comparison
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4144/...ra-2-review-the-first-dual-core-smartphone/15
Yup, saw it already. Not very good for a dual core processor phone.
Sad.
Well the batterylife will be better on gingerbread and up since our fancy dual core isnt supported in 2.2
send from mah ubersmexy tricorder
Yeah, but gingerbread also doesnt support dual core right?
I kinda forgot if it was gingerbread or honeycomb hmm eitherway on a next update it might improve allthough as previously posted before it gets better after some charge cycles also letting the battery drean all the way down and than fully recharge +2 hours additional charging a month improves battery drainage in general
send from mah magic toaster
But I heard people saying that by doing that, you are actually harming the battery life. I'm not sure, maybe someone can come in and clarify this.
Since 7.30 this morning (3h ago) with 3g, a little app sorting, and 30min of music ive lost 52% battery. This is rooted, factory-restored and with frOzen unnessesery apps.
Also it seems that now, a week old, the battery is getting worse and worse Since it reached its peak 2 days ago.
Help please
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
Am i the only one experiencing this? ;(
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I guess not, some others are facing the same issue too. How long is your set already?
if you mean how much battery its now; 29%
the stragest thing is, as i said, that it was better 2 days ago

Tests here made on a preproduction unit with prelaunch software making this test slightly useless as anadtech should now.
Both stability and battery life are better on production units being sold after launch with a more mature software.
This test should be repeated now with a production unit to have any validity.
Hi,
I just got an unlocked HD7 a week back, and am loving it!!
I upgraded from a 3GS and have a Galaxy S alongside, so it was a frivolous by for me, but I don't regret it. i'm a music on phone fanatic, and the HD7's music quality is excellent!!
But the only thing that is really pissing me off is the battery life. It barely lasts me 15 hours even on moderate usage.I've turned everything off, even data connectivity and only use wifi if required. The screen is set to auto brightness as its really difficult to read the screen in sunlight.Otherwise the only thing i use the phone for is sending texts and occasional calls, and some music playback through wired earphones.
Anyone has any tips and tricks up their sleeves to help extend the battery life.I'm sing the stock battery. And, yes I've seen the extended battery..the one which is rated at 3900mAh...bt I'd rather sell the phone than use that fugly thing.
Please help me...

I know its sometimes considered a load of made up nonsense but I get 18 hours now easily with heavy usage, and a few days with nothing on, and all i've done is simply kill the battery and charge it, the battery is a pain at the start (i know someone who ordered a Desire HD and took it back without speaking to me and there now kicking themselves, and when I got my HD7 in march if i got 6 hours out of the thing it was a miracle) and that has the same battery, but if you just train it and let the phone get used to how you use it, the battery will last a lot longer, plus it also depends on your software version, NoDo version: 7390 is the best at the moment for battery life so having that on board is also a good move
Hope this helps
Thanks for your reply.
I've actually tried it once or twice, inadvertently, because the phone died on me as the battery ran out.
HTC could have packed in a better battery. It wold have been awesome that way.

yeah they could, had a few android phones in my time and my motorola milestone suffered with a 1500 mAh battery, and more closer to home the battery life is terrible on the EVO 4G and thats also got a 1500mAh, and the same processor.
HTC just seem to be going downhill, with them locking their bootloaders and such. Shame really

You gotta think as well, its not ALL on HTC. it also depends on the carriers. if they want the bootloader locked them so be it. look at motorola, you cant even install 3rd party apps, as well as some samsucks. Microsoft even had a problem updateding the samsung focus. HTC has been the best so far.. i just cant wait till Nokia or Acer starts making/releasing their WP7.

It says alot if HTC are locking (Sensation/Thunderbolt/Droid Incredible S/2 are all locked sadly), and the original companies that used to like Motorola (August Starting) And Sony Ericsson (Xperia Play/Arc/Neo/Mini/Mini Pro Are All Unlockable) are stopping locking their bootloaders, its all fine if carriers want to lock phones down but the people who buy unlocked phones should get an unlocked bootloader as well. HTC are brilliant, i'm not saying that, but if one of the only reasons (I'm not saying there aren't others by the way) people went to buy HTC was cause they were developer friendly and now they're not, its going to dent their sales.
And take the Motorola Droid/Milestone into account, if it was all carriers then why wasn't the droid locked? cause the milestone is but the droid isn't. And I could always install 3rd party apps on my Motorola, same as all my Androids, the only company that didnt allow you to was AT&T and there stopping to do this, The new mammoth samsung allows 3rd party apps.
But yeah I agree with you, really can't wait to see what nokia unveils, its got to be good, as this could kill them
there is no idea to deal with the phone ,because the phone has a lot fuction more than the others.
Hey guys. I am currently a HTC One X user and I am thinking of buying the HTC One. I am slightly dissapointed by the HOX. Bad in gaming, alful battery life, heats up and doesnt have S-OFF. So I wanted to ask a few questiong about the One.
1.There were a ton of faulty HOX's so are there a lot of falty One's too ? What is the thing I should look for when buying it.
2.How is the battery life ? I mean on my HOX right now I can barely get 2h of screen on time with moderate usage (a bit of youtube, browsing, camera) And how is the battery when gaming ? I mean on my HOX my battery drains in around 90 mins when gaming (real racing 3). Will this phone be suitable for me ? I mean will it last around 7 hours (not screen on time) with 40-50mins of Real Racing 3, 20 mins of YT, 30 mins of browsing, some music and 30mins of other apps (like FB, Viber, etc.) Currently my HOX is not capable of this.
3.How is the gaming ? Are the games running good (25FPS+) and are most of them running on full graphics ?
4.How is the camera ? I mean I have heard a lot of thigs about it. 50% of the people say it is not very good, the other say its amazing. Also the video stabilisation. Does OIS work ? On my HOX the videos are shaky as ****. Also doest the camera (during video capture) lose focus ofen ?
5. Is it easy to scratch the screen and the metal body ? On my HOX the screen scratched and broke pretty easly. I had to replace it one time.
6.What would I gain if S-OFF my HTC One ?
Also I was thinking of should I wait for something like HTC One+ or similar. It would probably pack a S800 and a bigger battery. I am hearing some things about a HTC One Max but 5.9'' is just an overkill for me. 5'' is the absolute maximum for me.
I was thinking of buying S4 before, but I realised that the performance is worse and touchji** lags.(also I hate touchwiz...) The only thing that I like is the bigger and removeable battery. How doest HTC One's battery stand next to S4's battery ? Is there a lot of difference ? Thanks and sorry for my bad english :highfive:
Battery life will vary and is solely based upon your usage, theres really know way to tell you honestly if it will hold up under your usage or to compare it against another device...IF your looking to buy it and it get amazing battery life from the door, this will never happen, the rom/battery etc take at least 3 cycles to settle in.
Yeah I know I have to do some recharge cycles to unleash the full potential of the battery. I just wanted to ask if there is a HTC One X user that upgraded to HTC One to tell me if the difference in the battery life is huge.
One just did and answer would be the same....
There is no One+
That Pocketlint article everybody will quote is bogous. Or anti HTC Propaganda by Sammy Fanboys, Or just confused. Looks like the mix up One based phablets or new Butterflys with the One.
Again: if you wait for a HTC One but with different compunents (Snap800, Battery etc.) you will wait for ever. There is no One+
I'm really interested in the new HTC desire 626;;; but I saw tht its only having 2000mah battery while my current phone HTC desire 501 is having 2100mah and it gives very less time on battery while playing games or when using internet,,,,, I rejected HTC desire 620g because of its size ,and now I found this HTC desire 626 smaller with good screen to body ratio ,, all I'm confused about is the battery,,please help

I am currently using HTC Desire 626 for couple of days. I also have iPhone 4 and also Xperia Ray too. The back 13MP and front 5MP camera is really poor like chinese phone compared to my iPhone 4 and Xperia Ray. If you want to purchase this phone, read some actual reviews, camera sample before purchase.
Hi. I dunno about 626 but I have 620g and I love the shape and size.. Battery life , better than my ex stolen S5 .. Especially in watching videos and a little bet better in gaming .. But 626 has a different cpu and smaller battery capacity.. I cant advise that.but if you can accept the size of 620, its a good choice better than 626 or 620g
Right now I am using the phone to listen to music when I walk to work (20min) and back. WiFi is on all day long. I do/receive calls like for 1.5 hours every day. I don't really use the camera since I have another camera. I also play some games (1 hour) every day. It has been 2 weeks I have this phone and I recharge battery every 2.5 almost 3 days.
I am sure it will be getting worse over the time but I don't really care since it does not cost too much, my expectation were not so high. The big issue with this phone is WiFi, I have this problem, and the camera quality, mine is fine, but alot of people are complaining about the camera, especially the one in the back 13mp.
Hope it will help you to decide whether this is a phone for you or not. Bye
