[Q] Bluetooth volume too low - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I bought a bluetooth FM transmitter to hear music in my car. Basically I connect the i9000 via bluetooth and FM transmitter connects to the car radio through a radio frequency.
The problem is that the sound coming out of i9000 is very low.
I've tried to change values in service mode (*#*#197328640#*#*) but without success.
I tried also the "voodoo control plus" and got no improvement.
Any suggestions?
My version of Android is the stock rom 2.3.6

You could try using some form of management on the audio output...

how to "speed up" a2dp / bluetooth. HELP!!!!!

I need some serious help please.
Situation: My car has bluetooth for phone but not music. So i bought an A2DP FM transmitter. I am trying to use both in the car. one for phone, other for music. problem is, when both bluetooth devices are connected, the music SKIPS horribly.
I've tried a bunch of different roms and radios and tried the a2dpfix and everything I could find.
Basically, when i disable the car bluetooth, the skipping stops.... so it's the radioload or the workload on the tilt that makes the music skip.
So......
1) what can i do to increase bluetooth performance or general system performance?
2) what is the best rom or radio for bluetooth performance?
3) what is the best setting for bluetooth performance in registry? bitpool? framerate? jointstereo?
4) what is the music player using the least amount of resources?
THANK YOU. Please help with knowledge, not speculation.
also, any thoughts on prioritizing bluetooth devices or signals to give higher priority to a2dp?
overclocking?

Most likely. Several people have reported that issue. A2DP needs lots of bandwidth and realtime availability, if a second connection needs to be maintained at the same time it's very likely to cause interruptions.

What I did to fix this problem was to purchase the new Motorola FM transmitter - it does BOTH on one device - it transmits music to the radioo and gives you hands free for phone - really works well - much better than the Parrott that was in the car to begin with.
Bill
I saw the Motorola FM Transmitter but decided to go with my Satechi model because 1) it starts up automatically with ignition and 2) I can hide it away in the glovebox instead of having it attached to my visor.
so the best set up was to use both at the sametime but i'm not sure if i can anymore.
anyone know how to dedicate more resources to radioload or set priority in task manager?
THANKS
No.
A possibility, which depends on your Satecho thing, is if possible not to connect it to the Kaiser (leave it on, paired, but don't expressly connect to it when getting in the car).
That way there's no active BT connection between teh 2 so you shouldn't get skips. When you receive/place a phone call, the Kaiser will search for a present known handsfree and connect to it automatically anyway.
how do i pair it and not connect? when i get in the car, the car handsfree connects automatically.

Did you happen to do any registry tweaks to maximize the performance of the A2DP BT Stereo performance in the past by increasing the Bitpool and MaxSupportedBitPool DWORD. I found on my Vogue that I lost simultaneous BT connection when I altered those settings from default. I now leave the registry A2DP settings at default and have not had problems with simultaneous BT connections (hands free, BT stereo and BT GPS puck).

Jabra SP 700 bluetooth to FM transmitter

Anyone tried this hands free device? I am interested in its use as a hands free calling device as well as the ability to play mp3's via bluetooth to an fm transmitter...
I am interested to know how it works with the X1

why waste money on bad quality FM transmitter instead of BT? Get a header that support bluetooth (e.g. JVC BT-1, some models from Sony and others). If you header has aux input and you want to do it in a cheaper way, get an Sony DS-205 and connect that to yr header.
jackleung is rigth.
I have the sp 700 and the FM is bad,but if you need a good portable carkit it's ok.
The sound of the internal speaker and the mic is good.
Still one minus, i had to install this http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-zoa2dp.html
to get it to pair rigth.
Only got the systeemsound over bt but after installing the cab everything works great.
No more bt trouble

I don't now about the fm and bt kwality, but as far as i know it suports multipairing and thats a big + if you have more than 1 device

Would there be a way for you to record a sample of the stream through FM transmitter? I'd REALLY appreciate that as i'm looking to buy the SP700 as well. The only thing that's holding me back is your comment.
I really want the FM option and this one was the only one that i could find that had a nice design and good features.

I try ,give me a day or 2 to do this.
soundfiles
First of all ,this is very subjective.
I don't have a kwality recording device. This is recorded with a mp3 player.
It's done in my car(no engine) and it's hard to hear the high tones and the static of the fm transmission.
So don't kill me if you do something and regret it later.
I have recorded speech and music. For reference i have 1 empty soundfile from the recording device so you can hear the static from it.
I stand to what i sayed before ,the sp700 is a great handfree device for calls and navigation, but the fm performances for music is on it's best tolerable but not good enough.
If you don't have 1 and you want it for the music...., i wouldn't buy it,for handfree , great!!!!!!!!!!!, even over fm

Kudos. I actually got mine last week and love them so far. I'm having a problem in that after the first pairing when it automatically connects, music will play through the device, not the SP700s, i have to sometimes repair to get it going or do some weird stuff. I've tried A2DP toggle with no success and it seems like a lot have this issue, find a remedy for this?

This cab solved all my BT problems.
Read about it hire:http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-zoa2dp.html
Just installed it (didn't find an icon so i'm guessing it runs in the background). I deleted my connection with the SP700 and i'll check how it works out tomorrow (after the first pair).
Is this only good for WM 5? Does this do anything for WM 6.1 phones which supports A2DP?
I've been using A2DP toggle with success, but if this works with the toggling it sounds great.
Update: loaded it on my Tilt. Works GREAT!! Switches between BT headset & SP700 with any toggling or pairing

@kareem9nba You use ATT. Have you experienced any problems with your Internet connection after installing zoA2dp? It seems that after I use BT and access the Internet, I get a 403 Forbidden error on my screen. I've tried enabling and disabling the hidden proxy, but I can only get access restored with a soft reset. Anyone else experience this problem?
Another minor glitch. I use Resco radio to stream music through the SP700, after a phone call, the radio has to be manually enabled again.
Don't have a data package so i wouldn't be able to try that. I don't use Resco Radio either. When you uninstall it, does your internet work again?

I can't seem to find what is causing the problem. If the problem gets worse, I'm sure a Hard Reset will fix it.
I will say that if I keep the power cord plugged in it works like a antenna and actually will get a better signal. I love how the SP700 works with calls, transmitting and music (when you get it to work). As of now when I want to play music over the SP700 I need to turn off the wireless stereo on the phone and then re-enable it for it to work. Or just re-pair the unit to my phone. A lot of people are say to use zoa2dp to fix this. While it does work and allows music to be played with no re-pairing necessary, the sound quality seems to be greatly reduce. Is anyone having the same issue? Is there a ROM for the Tilt that can fix this bug?

I have a Fuze and the same problem. It sucks. zoa2dp is automatic, but the sound quality is degraded a bit. To maintain the sound quality I have to manually turning off and then on the Wireless Stereo setting. Another option is you can install the a2dptoggle app. It seems to do the same thing but in 1 click.

Bluetooth Stack - Can't adjust volume

Hi Guys, firstly apologies if this is in the wrong forum but I guessed the ROM chefs are probably the ones in the know when it comes to low-level software stuff like Bluetoot stacks...
Problem - When using a Jabra BT3030 headset Windows tells me “The connected Bluetooth headset does not support volume adjustment from the device. Adjust volume on the headset itself.”.
This means adjusting the volume in Windows doesn't effect the volume through Bluetooth (any volume that is, the "System" volume, the "Ring" volume or the volume control in any application).
Trouble is, the volume control on the headset is pretty limited, even at minimum volume the headset is still way too loud.
On my old phone (Tytn2) this wasn't a problem, I was able to adjust the volume on the phone itself.
Does anyone know the reasons behind this and if there is a workaround / ROM that I can use to fix it?
(On the Stock HTC ROM, 1.19.401.0)
Can anyone even confirm whether this is something that is changed via an OS ROM upgrade or whether it is changed via a Radio ROM upgrade?
Has anyone even had this issue at all?!?

I have exactly the same issue. Verbatim.
Its probably the issue with compatibility of the headset with tp2. I have moto695 and I can adjust volume just fine in any ROM.
Since the stock rom, htc have changed the bluetooth stack as it was not working to well with bluetooth head sets. (i.e. voice command would not work from the headset).
With the latest stack communication with headsets is much better (i.e. voice command works)
Perhaps changing your rom to a later version would solve your problem as well.
I have the exact same headset and it seems that volume only can be adjusted by using the volumebuttons on the headset. I'm using the NRG ROM and I haven't noticed any notifications about volumelevels.

Radio via Bluetooth. HELP

I am the happy owner of a HTC Topaz.
I ride a motorbike, and have recently bought a bluetooth crash helmet with built in speakers / mic which works a treat for answering and making calls and also for listening to TomTom navigation instructions from my HTC Topaz.
However, I have yet found a solution to allow me to listen to the built in radio via bluetooth. Because HTC requires the plug-in headset to act as an antena the radio doesnt work without it.
However when I plug in the headset, i get instant radio reception but then the sound is routed to the plug-in headset , rather thean the bluetooth speakers.
My logic tells me that there must be some way to use the plug in headset as ONLY an antena allowing the sound to be routed by deafault to the bluetooth headset. Surely this is software driven?
I am not a software Guru, but keen to learn and frustreted that there doesnt seem to be a yet obvious solution to this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Why 4 threads?
You have to use plug-in headset as antenna.
Then try this:

Sorry if i've messed up with protocol. I thought that i'd have more chance of a solution hitting various forums areas..
Unfortunately you might find it's not possible because the audio routing to the bluetooth encoder inside the phone is probably before the point at which the FM audio is injected. Just speculation, but I believe it may be the case.
If the first one doesn't work, check this:

Bluetooth music quality

Super new here, I tried searching for my problem but I may just be blind. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help out.
I've got an 06' BMW with a witson android head unit.
The issue I'm having is Bluetooth music audio quality. Oddly enough Bluetooth calling isn't a problem. The upper range of sound is distorting. Don't know if this makes a difference or not, it's connecting to an iphone *hides under table. If I listen to the radio or to a cd (like it's 1997 or something) I don't hear the issue.
I've gone into the factory settings, and adjusted the BT volume up and down and found no change. I've changed all of the volume options, and found no change. I've tried changing the amplifier settings as well and have found no change.
MCU version MCTB-KYD-V2.77
Android version 4.4.4_27082015
Kernel version 3.0.36+

Have you tried factory settings, and turning down BT master volume. Mine was set well above the others, which could cause issues when in higher volume ranges.
Yes, in fact I was super excited when I searched and found the factory settings code, and that the bt adjustment was in there. It was set to +18 I've since set it to 0 and saw no improvement.
I guess my question is this
Clearly, a setting isn't going to fix this, should I just install a new Bluetooth app, or is the Bluetooth app essential to the operating system and I should just install a new operating system??
HI
I have erisin 2046 and my bluetooth music is scratching hard.. quality is very bad
set the master volume down already in factorysettings (126) but nothing changed.
Sounds like a firmware update is required... maybe to android 5.1? If only people answered more often about doing them... (I have no idea how)
I have two units (MTCB KLD, MTCD KGL) and an old clarion HU with bluetooth.
This problem exists all three units. It's not a firmware problem, problably MCU related issue.
I was digging many forums about this, but I cannot find solution.
I have a MTCD unit which is functioning well but the BT streaming quality is quiet bad.
It's quiet easy to do an A and B comparison with our android units so it will be obvious but if you didn't know, you'd think it's ok.
I just think bluetooth streaming quality is generally bad if you don't use APTX
probably there is a problem with smartphone. When I using android one, there is no distorting in upper range. However, when I use iPhone SE, it's hard to hear distorting sound and quality is really bad.
I have the same problem. Very bad sounding, upper range is distorted. I've tried 3rd party Bluetooth apps, but it doesn't recognize the unit as having Bluetooth. Probably cause the Bluetooth chip is in the MCU, and is not actually part of the android software. That's my guess.
Does anyone know if a Bluetooth dongle to the USB will work? I have a spare one laying around.

The bluetooth module connected to the MCU.
The MCU provide the Bluetooth audio stream to the Android OS.
The Bluetooth app can control the BT module through the MCU.
So there isn't direct link between the android OS and the bluetooth module.

Audio streaming over Bluetooth App from my iPhone (say from Pandora) is noticeably worse quality than using an app on the HU (say, Pandora App on HU). Do not have this problem streaming to other HUs (like the one built into the Prius) or my previous GTA Kit.
