Our capacitive touchscreen wont work with a normal pen. Capacitive touchscreens require a conducting material. You need to buy a costly pen that conducts and it needs to be calibrated so that it would work properly with our screen.

Like how the S pen was calibrated for the Note .
Nevertheless the touch is still bad

Yes but it doesn't really work well. Himalaya doesn't have resistive screen, so it's just a hack to detect double touch (not more!).
If you want to observe how it exactly works open Notes and put one finger on the left side and another on right. Now try to move those finders down. You will get one continous line at center of the screen.
Try it

Yeah i know. the hima does have a resistive screen, it doen't have a capacitive screen. Otherwise we would have multi touch.

Hey guys, when searching google for the answer to this its a bit vague.
Will the s-pen work?
not s-memo or any of the samsung apps..
Just will the pen still work.. like can i use it instead of my fingers?
Like, could i still draw on draw something, or sketchbook?

Yes, there is apk that can work similar to s-pen. If you flash Stunner, it has two apk, one works in phone mode and the other works in tablet mode.
I mean, do i actually need the app, can i still use it instead of my finger.. to browse the web etc?

edit: Oh crap, wrong thread.. Can someone move to AceII general forum ?
If you change the thread/topic icon in the warning triangle, it will be moved to its respective location.
P.S.: What do you mean with "cheap" ?
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda premium
By cheap I mean, that I did not pay much for this phone (50euro). And the specs are quite good and I really like the not so big size.
Kick ?

Already did that and using now, but I still want to repair it. Already ordered the button and some tools to open the phone.
The button seems not be on stock at different online shops, does anyone know where to get a Ace 2 Home button ?
Hi everyone ! Recently i started thinking about the possibility of having the Note 3's Air Command on the Note 1... Because the Screen recognizes the S-Pen BEFORE touching the screen... So, there might be a possibility to do that on the N7000?
Thanks !

Increase the screen sensitivity, you can do it with this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vital.tst.n7000&hl=en
When you take it up to max, then you will be able to operate the screen without even touching it

The s-pen is noticed by a magnetic pad under the screen not by the screen it self. There is a app that uses the light sensor to notice your hand movement

It has nothing to do with your hand, its not Air View (feature which already have in GT-N7000), its Air Command: You hover the S Pen in the screen and then press S-Pen Button, then a window will popup and you can hover to select multiple options. You cant use it until Samsung release 4.3 update (something that might not happen) and devs port it.
Definitely something to look forward to.
If some out there can come up with a ROM :silly:
the same functionality is very much supported in N7000.
came across a thread here of a Note 3 app for N7000.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444504&page=2
sketchbook.
installed it on my Device...m running cyanogenmod 10.2, 4.3.1 Jellybean. works lyk a charm.
a particular feature here i noticed which exactly captures the air command function is wer u hover over the screen & press the pen button...the shortcuts pop up.

Is it possible to port HDC galaxy note 3 OS on our GT-N7000?

Exactly I m using sketchbook.
If on sketchbook we can use air command gesture with s pen then its definitely possible to port note 3 air command feature to note n7000.
I hope devs will look into this...
Cheers
know I can do this with root? there is the all in one gestures app but it uses to much battery it seems... I'm coming to the Samsung world from using nexus so the reversed buttons are confusing...

You mean swap the capacitive buttons?
It should be possible by modifying the key file, but come on really?
It's the same with my htc and my tab, buts it's no big deal.
In any case you need root.
ya too bad Google couldn't standardize these... I know it's fairly minor but sucks to have 2 devices with different buttons...

I meant that Google should enforce the buttons to keep the ui consistent across all the manufacturers...
found a OK solution just hold tab upside down then buttons are at least on right side.. also easier to hear speakers when they fire up...
Simple,
