Hey there,
I got my SGS a few months ago. Everything works fine but one thing still annoys me: The vibration is too strong and lasts too long when I revieve messages (like 3 seconds).
Is there a way to change the pattern to make it less noisy for example?
I've already tried apps like Smart Vibrate. They don't seem to work.
Phone is already rooted and DarkyROM 10.4 runs on it.
Thanks in advance.
This app has worked fine for me:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...arch_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kZnMiXQ..
with it you can create your own sms vibrate pattern
hope this works for you!
Thanks for your advice. However, I need something more global. I don't only receive SMS, my phone also vibrates on Whatsapp messages, eMails, phone calls and stuff like that.

Is anyone noticing that at times your screen turns on like when you get an incoming SMS or phone call, but then no message comes in? I've confirmed a few times now that it did indeed seem to just lose the sms.
I had handcent sms installed for awhile, but I removed that, and only have the stock samsung sms client.
I've got the same problem as well. Guess about 1/10 of my sms never come through. Often I get an notification with Noled app, the the sms is nowhere to be found. Really a big problem, cause dont of from who or whetever I missed a sms or not :-(
ps: the sms is lost forever it seams, not delayed
(I'm using stock JPM rom rooteded and voodo)
Did you find an solution? Any possible help would be appreciated
My phone stopped vibrating on notifications and incoming calls for some reason. So did my brothers at the same time. It'll still vibrates on screen unlock and haptic feedback. I have my e-mail set to vibrate only, sometime it'll vibrate, but more often than not, it wont. But never for notifications or calls. And yes i checked all the settings i could. (That i know of)
It first started when we switched to aosp mod from cm 6.1. So I tried flashing back to cm6.1(jaybob version) hoping it would fix, but it didn't. Yes, I did all the full wipes and everything. I really don't wanna RUU to see if its the phone or just the roms. I mean, it happened to my brothers phone at the same time, that can't just be coincidence.
Has anyone else seen this? or know what iI can try before I RUU?
i downloaded an app called sound manager. its free on the market. in there i clicked menu, vibrate settings. i enabled all the vibrate settings. tested it, then deleted the app. that reenabled my vibrations for messages and calls.

on aospMOD go into sound settings and for vibrate make sure you have it set to something other than never
Tried both of those suggestions and neither worked. Vibrate was set to always already.
I don't understand cause haptic feedback works but the actual vibrating will not.

Hi Guys!
I got a Galaxy S I9000B to replace my Galaxy Ace. As soon as I got it I flashed it with the latest CM7 nightly. I know there is CM9 and 10 for this phone but I had CM7 also on my ACE and I definitely love this rom and GB.
So far everything is great, this an old but really good piece of phone.
Anyways, I noticed something that on my ACE with CM7 didn't happen.
Everytime I have my phone locked (not using it) and receive a SMS text, besides notificating me with the ringtone and vibrate, the softkeys turns on and keep that way until I press the home button. I didn't wait much than 4 or 5 minutes, it might be some kind of notification that this CM7 has for the I9000B, and it might turn off if I wait more but I didn't try that yet. Also it might be a bug, I don't know.
The question is, do you guys know if this is normal ? It it does, do you know if there is an option to turn this option off or at least configure the time the softkeys are turned on ?
Thanks!
It is perfectly normal for your phone to do this:
The Galaxy S lacks a notification LED so the softkey LEDs are used to show unread messages or other notification.
Since I've never used CM7 I can't tell you if there is any option to change the duration, maybe someone else knows more about that.

Thanks dude! I was hoping to be normal since I didn't want bugs hehe.
I was kind of surprising since I have never experienced this behavior with my previous Galaxy ACE (which don't have any notification led either).
If anyone owns CM7 with this phone I would really appreciate if I can get some advise on this. Is there anyway to configure the time out for it or to disable it ? I have just received a text message and let the phone alone without touching the home button for 17 minutes and the lights were still there
Thanks!
I'm no longer getting vibrations on my wrist with my Gear Live. I haven't touched anything, but they just stopped. The motor does work however, I've tested it using the Phone Finder app. I've tried resetting the device, restarting the device, and making sure that it's not on mute. I can't seem to find settings for this anywhere; could someone help me out?
Edit: I love how as soon as I post this, vibration starts working again..
Could it be that certain apps aren't getting the thing to vibrate, but others are? Anyone else getting vibration notifications with Textra?
I swear vibration didn't work every time. It's so faint though that even when it does, I don't notice it

Watch not vibrating for text messages
I noticed my Gear Live wasn't vibrating for text messages. It seemed random whether or not it vibrated for text messages. It vibrated normally for all other notifications. I have now discovered (and I believe and hope it's a software issue) that my watch will vibrate every time for incoming texts if and only if my phone is set to silent or ring mode. If the phone is set to vibrate, my watch will not vibrate for incoming texts. My Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 on the Verizon network running Android 4.4.2. I have tried rebooting, powering down andback on, and even a factory reset all resulting in no change of behavior. Is this similar to what you were experiencing? Anyone else experiencing this?
Text message vibration not working
I also noticed I'm not getting a vibration for text messages. Not sure why, I've had the watch for a week now and this just started a day or so ago. I've also restarted and reset to factory settings with no luck. If anyone knows of the issue, please post. Thanks!

Not sure if it's a permanent fix or not, but I actually shut my phone down completely (Samsung GS4) and turned it back on. I did a couple test text messages and the watch is picking up the messages and vibrating again. Again, this could just be a band-aid but it did seem to work.
Hi
I dont know what is going on with my phone. I'm getting notifications from gmail and messenger but not for calls, SMS, IG...
I use suunto watch and I see notifications there but not on my phone. All notifications are ON and I haven't changed anything it just suddenly stopped working.
I've googled a lot and tried almost everything short of factory reset.
Thanks in advance
