Thank you. I did see that post however it doesn't seem to have the options that dsixda's Android Kitchen has. I haven't downloaded it to check it out as I am at work right now. I do intend to check it out.

After looking at that post again it looks like a program to just change some options in that particular ROM only. The one I was asking about is for making an entire ROM. I'm interested in getting into ROM development.

No you cannot make an entire rom out of dsixda's Android Kitchen it can only modify files from an existing rom like zapling all the apps deodex and etc but you cannot make a rom and it's porting feature sucks...
I dunno maybe you can make it work but i can't so i install ubuntu and am learning compiling from source instead...

[TOOL] Flash_Patch v1 "The easiest Way to Port a ROM" UPDATED 10/21 With AOSP Version
Credits: IncDoes, myself.
This is the first stage of flash-patch development, this will be used to get the ports done on the Evo/Nexus over to the Inc in an easy suitable way that fits us all. No more rebuilding or packing a whole new zip
I will be updating the patch as we get more fixes.
What the patch does:
- flashes Inc system files replacing the Evo/Nexus system files
- flashes Inc boot.img replacing Evo/Nexus boot.img
THIS PaTCH NOW SUPPORTS PORTING OF N1 ROMS, TOO!!!
Download:
(SENSE): http://bit.ly/asxO8s
(VANILLA): http://bit.ly/aC9bSr
(ENOMTHER'S THENEXUSONE): http://bit.ly/ajrWsn
How to install:
- download flash-patch (posted above)
- download an Evo/Nexus ROM
- full wipe required
- flash the Evo/Nexus ROM but DO NOT REBOOT after install
- flash the patch over the Evo ROM
- now reboot
CHANGELOG:
v1 Sense/Vanilla/Enom- Initial Release
v1.5 Sense- Install Script deletes kernel modules before reboot
this patch was designed to work on any rom from the nexus or evo>>>any other rom will be unsupported!
cool idea guys
thank ID for the idea

Right now, it was only tested on EVO Sense ROMs, just to let you know...i should have a working version for Vanilla roms later or tomorrow.
Yeah, I remember ID talking about this yesterday. Cool idea. I guess, but why would you want a evo sense rom? Anything that's been done for the ego has been done for the dinc, no?

They have their own roms (ava froyo, virusrom, nosenseevo just to name a few)
I am also working on one that will port from the nexus
rom kitchen does this, but does it even better. using this may cause issues if your replacing the whole boot image. if you want to make it better, include a kernel and use koushs any kernel flasher. some roms have rom specific data in the ramdisk that if you remove it, can cause issues.

This could be cool. I'm not a dev though.
Is this what ported CM6 Night97 Into Blackhawkmod?

Always i prefer improvement in performance
App2SD should be enabled by default
You need to have basic apps like Rootexplorer and SetCpu preinstalled.
It would be great if you can build 2.2 or try 2.3 versions...
Why don't you go for 2.2?
2.2 take ages for me to do for example openswift. 2.3 is out of the question.I am looking to make a 2.1 custom like quarx

why can not you make rom based on cyanogen? I think it wouldn't take ages...
2.3 is easier to develop than 2.2 was apparently. 2.1 is too outdated mate, just hit high and base it on Cyanogen mod 7. Look at Roms for Cyanogen mod 7 on the Desire or LG p500 and work from those?

hmm, I'm not sure, but I think you need to modify a lot of things to make whole 2.3 working, and it is too much work to do for one man, we would need a group of developers, and we don't have it :/
Thats what i mean but me and someone else are trying to setup build environment to make some.
Anyway cehr is workin on it

Porting SENSE, MIUI, TouchWiz, MotoBlur ROM to GT540

Ok, i have started this thread because of peoples interest in SENSE so i thought we could port it.
Someone in th SE X8 section ported quite a few ROMS and i have his ported legend downloaded to take a look.
If you are interested in getting involved in development then post what you know here and we can get started.
I am trying to see if i can get this to run at all on our device and how to make it work with our harware.
If we work from a legend ROM we could get this to work.
If we can get more variety then cm and other rom builders might support our phone. Also this might be teaching us all of what other ROM builders do and we will have more in depth knowledge to create our own ROMS and become DEVS
I love your idea but my knowledge of deving doesn't stretch far enough to be any help, but yes, I can't wait to see a sense ROM!
Good i would like a sense Rom

Anything is possible mate, it's just the difficulty in porting such roms. Lets hope these Sense and MIUI Rom's are not too difficult to port.

Great miui will be great. Thanks ZduneX25 you would be a great help and sense is allready mdpi so no worries everyone has their own taste.
everyone go and do your studying and report back here for some discussion.
Thanks
Hey thanks for moving the thread,
yes i like both miui and sense but..
do you guys think miui would look good on mdpi?
i don't think so..,
if we port sense then a 2.2 rom cuz i want to move my apps,
without all the app2sd ****,
Hmm.....I don't really like Sense that much...prefer TouchWiz, Motoblur or Timescape.
Yes now go look around for some peeps who have done this and ask them where they got sense or miui parts from.

If you like that stuff then go study on it and come back here.

[REQ][Q]Droid X Gingerbread Keyboard

Hey, I was wondering if someone can turn the Droid X Keyboard from the leaked Droid X Gingerbread ROM into an installable APK that works with Gingerbread. I already tried multiple ways to install the APK's designed for 2.2 and 2.1 but none work on Gingerbread, so I decided to find the leak and take out the APK from that.
EDIT: The post at the bottom of the link below has a download that contains both the ODEX and the APK for the Native DroidX 2 keyboard

My apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I think requests for apps go here as well

I really like the keyboard though. It's great on the DX. There's more button space on it, compared to the stock Gingerbread KB.

Yeah, both of those WERE my options but in the end I decided I didn't want to go resizing everything. Building looked quite long and a hefty task so I left it. But maybe soon I might get a AOSP rom and resize, if you could help find me one I will mention you in my post. I'll call it "Even More Feathers" haha hopefully I'll start soon, I'm uploading v0.2 in a second improved a huge amount of things

There was a guide floating around this section from xbdg about compiling gingerbread AOSP for the wildfire and incorporating some of the CM team fixes. (Video recording, faster UI and such!) I will try and find this if you'd be willing to try it out. The tutorial was based on 2.3.5 at the time, But since its using the AOSP sources. The end rom should be 2.3.7

What is? The rom is based on oxygen. Which is 2.3.7.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Don't worry if it says 2.3.5, it is 2.3.7 because the user that ported the rom previously used DevNull ( 2.3.5) and he copied the build.prop file over to the Oxygen rom so basically it says 2.3.5 but its 2.3.7
then change in the build.prop from 2.3.5 to 2.3.7 when is basically on it ;D
Oh look another Oxygen winzippah...
@mrweqa - any chance of sharing the changes you've made (eg to GPS), so I can look at integrating them into Oxygen?
With regards to the 2.3.5 & 2.3.7 confusion - Oxygen is built from the 2.3.7 sources, but identifies itself as 2.3.5 for Market compatibility reasons.
Add (Replace is SUPL's are already there) this to /system/etc/gps.conf
