Hello guys! I have Xperia x8 and use nAa.-11 and 2.1.9 CM7 ... I just want to say that the processor can accelerate your mobile phone... How! go to settings / CyanogenMod settings / PREFORMANCE / OK to the warning / CPU settings / Low CPU frequency is 480MHz and select, then go to MAX CPU frequency is 729MHz and select... That's it! : D I was not trying a speed up over this so that we would not have stuck ... :/ The only problem is that the battery lasts one day :/ If I've helped click thanks... : D Sorry about the bad English...

On demand means the processor will clock to whatever speed within the set parameters it needs to run smoothly. It will always try to run as low as possible while not compromising speed. This is generally the best option and there's little to no reason to change it. Unless you want to save as much battery as possible of course, then you could put it to energysaving. You really don't want maxperformance as that will drain your battery and give little to no advantage over ondemand
The other is the clockspeed of the CPU and should generally be left alone. Overclocking it too much can permanently damage your hardware. There is no cooling system, so increase it very conservatively. You should leave it at stock, unless things are being slow, but don't put it too high. The higher you put it, the faster it will process yes, but also the more energy it uses and therefore heat it creates. Too much exposure to heat will mean game over. Overclocking is also likely to lower the lifespan of your device.
Hope that helps
can i have some script for better RAM management. and also tell me how to implement it [ i am a noob ]

1.do not oc your device more than 800 mhz and use ondemand governor,
2 .use the inbuilt option to choose the frequency because app like set cpu use 4~5 mb of your ram (setting> cm setting> cpu setting)
3. try using adw ex launcher it uses 11 mb ram only avoide go launcher
4. create a swap partition of 512 mb and set swapiness to 80%
5. use only default android keyboard (ics android keyboard is better)
6. use task killer to kill ongoing useless task time to time
7. do not use much widget at the same time
I remember mebitek or yagya or some other famous dude said that moving cache to sd card slows your device down..?
I set JIT off, and VM heap to 24. Also oc to 710 MHz, phone works like a charm. But i don't play games, i just want the phone to be snappy. I think the vm heap might cause fc's for bigger applications, at least playstore always force closes when i had VM heap at 16.. but otherwise the phone was really responsive with 16.
Battery is also good with those settings. Please correct me if i'm somehow mistaken!
jit on should be better

Just leave min cpu freq to 245, yes.
Also, if your kernel has Smartassv2 or Lilgv2 available, use those instead, they're better for Mini than stock Ondemand.

(FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE IN CM9):-
go to settings
1)developer option-mark Gpu rendering ,windows animation &transitin animation as 0.5,mark kill app back button.
2)performance-use 16 bit,processor lilg as governor at max710(u don't see much flickers)
3)use apex launcher as default .(push it in to ur system-apps)
Hi guys I have a i9000 rooted with custom from and I wanted to improve performance and battery life can that be done by setting the CPU speeds or overclocking as I believe its called any help would be great cheers guys

If you need an app, try NSTools.
I got it I was just wondering what the best settings would be
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Every device is different for over clocking because of the manufacturing process just make sure the setting "apply at boot" isn't ticked while trying out different settings then test the settings and make sure its stable then if it works for you you can check apply at boot overclocking will decrease battery life though if you want to increase battery life you will need to under volt your phone (this is assuming your kernel supports overclocking and undervolting)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Yea I can do both just don't really wanna mess about with it until I know more about it.. am I right to assume undervolting would reduce performance
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
No I thought this at first as well, the performance remains the same the only way it will result in performance issues is if you do it to much the phone will become unstable but as I said before test the settings before saving

Okay guys I've had this PA JB 2.1 with hydrocore running. Now I've used hydro v1 and 4.3 and both my battery is not great at all. I've gone back to v3.5 as I was running this one the longest. I have nothing synced at all aand I mainly use wifi to browse watch videos etc. Nothing to heavy at all. My phone has fully charged and in batterystats it says my phone has been on for 20 mins and it went down to 88%! Now is this normal for some of you or is their really any tips that truly work as I love this rom....I've asked before but I just need if possible tips that have proven to work.
Thanks all.

You can change the Governer settings by using SetCpu and make your phone battery friendly.
Here you can find the tips

Thanks for the link...its quite difficult to understand it all. I've got my gov as conservative and the Max freq set at 1000. I saw in the link that's recommended. I dont see friendly in CPU?

You have a tonns of info, how to fix the things.
Check the second link in my signature.
First rule - any "dirty" install can't be counted as an objective reason for complaint. But - submit your BBS dump, as stated in the thread's OP anyway.
i was previously using Hydracore V4.1 with PA JB 2.1 and it has a very good battery life. i am currently on Jellycore V2 with Hydracore 4.1 again as the newer versions of the Hydracore seems to drain more battery so i sticked with the 4.1 version.

Set it to lulzactive with noop scheduler and max freq to 1400...rest of the settings you can apply from the link given above. (For battery friendly)
Swyped From My Juicy Flavoured AOKP JB.
Ive set everything as stated except that friendly bit as I cant find it. The info in those threads are not easy reads for me lol...so I'm not understanding but after an hour of using just wifi to browse the web I've gone down to 79%. Also does having a theme kill battery as I have a theme set?

Hi everyone, as i have been starting to fiddle around with governors i discovered that my setting won't stick and I'll have to reset them after rebooting, what could be the solution to it?
Also after researching it seem the better governor is smartassV2? Should i change any voltage or GHz for balanced performance and battery life?
Thanks all for helping out yet again:beer:

What app are you using to do this? Try trickstermod or daemon controller
And have a look at the guide linked in my signature, that might answer your questions about overclocking and undervolting
You'll have to look on a pc or on a browser on your phone

Ah right, knew I forget something. I am using vipervivo ROM with redux 0.7
The venom tweak is the one i used to change governors, and yes i did tick the setting to apply setting on boot.
Thanks mark I'll have a look at your post to decide on oc and UV

hope that help.

Never, ever, ****ing ever set your clock speed apps to set on boot.
Why? If you set up a frequency that your device cannot handle it will set these frequencies as soon as your phone hits the loading screen. You will not be able to boot your device as the clock settings will kick in immediately and freeze your system.

So basically wt it meant is u want to the settin keep g u set after every reboot..
If you dont check that option the settings will revert to default setting when u reboot

Most roms running ics or greater have built in safety, so if the phone force closes set on boot will not apply. It is perfectly safe to set your governors and I/o on these roms. Check for info about current Rom you are running, if it has this feature go nuts and test the limits of your phone . Do your research peoples, can't stress that enough, find out what you can about your phone and current rom/radio/kernal and you won't hurt your phone. Fail to do so and risk bricking your device, its that simple.
