[Q]How to Root LG Optimus Black P970 with V10E - LG Optimus Black

Hey guys,
I'm currently on Android 2.2.2 with V10E.
I've tried many methods but none is being successful for me.
I've tried the Superoneclick, unlockroot, gingerbreak, gingersnap and blackjack but none is working.
Any suggestion/advice/help is highly appreciated
Thanks

Try LG Esteem

Can someone tell me the reason that the root for v20 is still not come?
why the other(HTC, Samsung) phone comes with their root tools few days after they have been rolled out, but LG's phone seems so hard to crack?
Can anyone?
Because LG has fixed his kernel against any known exploit.
We have to find a new exploit (but our community is small) or wait that else finds a new exploit that can work also with our kernel.

Yes, but not just the kernel, the framework is fixed too (zergRush & Gingerbreak were framework exploits).
ETA: of course, it wasn't LG who fixed the stuff, they just picked a fortunate point for the release.

That's really enought, man!
don't you know that SOC is useless to root 2.3.4 (v20B)?
I guess your must be 2.2.2 or v20A(leakage version, buggy)

AFAIK 2.3.4 does not denote one specific state of the source tree, but several, possibly spanning months. If so, it is quite possible for an exploit for work on a 2.3.4, but not on another one.
There are two rooting threads: one in general and one in q&a.

No reason to open another one. Just read that just some two or three guys did root the 2.3.4. We tried all available options and none of them worked. So we wait for the smart guys to come with solutions. Stay tuned and read first.

i have recently upgraded to v 2.3.4 and its giving me a real hard time , lg promiced better gaming performance and battery life , so far ive only seen apps crashing games lagging like hell and real slow performance and only about 60 mb of free ram at any given time .
i'd really like to root and install a custom rom on this device , i've heard about gingerbreak and superoneclick but none of them worked with me so can anyone please give me a link or something to a guide on how to root this device ??

Check out NOOBYs How To Thread. Its a sticky somewhere. Gingerbreak and Superoneclick only work on certain versions. Rather use Smart Flash Tool to install a patched ROM.

The new rooting method is generic it install new firmware already rooted and is not dependant on what software the phone is using ( why it's also a recovery method )
The older rooting methods fool the OS into giving you root permission through various exploits and then properly root it with its new permissions. The older methods relies on vulnerabilities and that is why a lot of rooting tools don't work after the software has been patched.

Its highly subjective. Its depends on what you prefer.
I think Zeuz is the best ROM at the moment. CM10 is fast becoming very good. There's still a few minor bugs but its getting better and better with each nightly. I really like the way the V30 Repack looks but there's a few bugs that are quite annoying like USSD codes don't work and SD mounting doesn't work fully.
