Hi,
I've had a wrong kernel flashing recently, couldn't put my phone into download mode until I buy Qcell batteries. Now the phone works perfectly, however even though I've charged the original battery with the charger, the phone doesn't turn on. How can the battery be dead ? Can I RMA it ?
As you said flashed wrong kernel, it might a problem with kernel & not with battery. just check the battery in other Note.
My bad, forgot to mention I flashed back to stock ROM using the battery I bought.now the phone is working with the batteries I got from Amazon. But, it doesn't turn on with original battery.
.......................................
Tried to charge the battery for an hour as someone mentioned in an another thread, no luck
Doesn't anyone know the issue ?

Check the battery with another note.If it doesnt work and if you have warranty take it to the service centre and get it replaced.Becareful not to tell them that you used third party battery. If they ask you how concluded that the battery is gone say them you checked it with your friend's note's battery

Hey guys,
I have just brought a new extended battery and cover for my HTC HD2, i got it deliveried this morning, turned the phone off and changed the batterys. i then put it on charge while the phone being turned off, to give it a full charge. The light for charging starts, but then after 30 secs it flashes one orange light then a green one, which suggest its not charging. I have tried charging it via the computer and still get the same problem
Can anyone help me as to what the problem actually is?? as if it is the battery i will order a new one.
Kind Regards
Shane
Ive just put my old battery back in, (standard one) and it seems to be charging fine. does this mean the battery i have is faulty, I have herd sometimes when they havnt been used they dont charge but after using and charging it works.
I need to sort this out as soon as because of trying to return the for another one??
i have the same problem with my spare battery i bought it only charged once and after that it only flashes orange and green. the only solution i found is charging it with my craddle in the spare battery slot (which doesnt work anymore for some reason it doesnt charge either battery so its probably the craddle thats bad so make sure you buy a good one and thats compatible to your hd2 version)or having your phone off while charging. which sucks if you use your phone as an alarm because you have to up in the middle of the night just to switch batterys and miss any late night calls if you know what i mean

Have exactly the same problem. Old battery charges fine, new extended doesn't.
Did you find any solutions? Is it a fault on the extended battery?
Hi guys
I am having the same problem, new extended battery and does not charge just getting the flashing led's, normal battery charges ok!! charge from mains or computer is gives the same result....any ideas???
I had this problem, i was running the stock rom (02 ireland) flashing red and green not charging with the extended battery (official), i fixed it by flashing a new rom.
that tells me its a software issue as the original battery would charge fine and the extended had the issue.

yes its a software issue and if your provider wont let you use the rom update on the htc site then i think until they bring a new rom out for eg.vodafone we are stuffed....
Older ROMs don't support the extended battery.

I recently rooted and flashed a Galaxy Ace. The phone was running well but after completely being drained the phone did not charge at all...I turned it off took the battery out and placed it again and it turned on to Download Mode...I let it charge like that and worked but the problem happened again and it looks like its not charging at all....the phone does not have a Samsung battery but a generic (chinese I guess by the symbols). What can I do? Battery problem or Flashing problem?
Battery problem. Why are you using a generic Chinese battery though?

Let me give you something which I tried before a long time and which worked for me.
If the flashing has a prob, try this (but at your own risk)
1. Charge to 100%. Not to even 99%. Full 100%
2. Recovery
3. Wipe Battery Stats
4. Reboot
IF you find considerable difference then it might be just solution.
If battery is the prob,
change to company battery then.
PS: I know Google engineer Dianne Hackborn has debunked the myth of Battery Wipes.
I have not really seen my answer on here so excuse me if I am asking repeated ?tions
My battery is NOT holding a charge, so i went to the mobile store and they tell me that the battery is not designed to last more than a year blah blah blah so i bought a new one since this one drained super fast anyway when using the GPS
So i get a new extended life MASSIVE battery and now it wont charge either. It worked fine for about a week, and now its just yellow exclamation point city.
I cannot get the phone to stay on, I have tried multiple charging leads, used the wall, used the computer port, nothing.
So I guess my only option is to mail it to Samsung as maybe it is the usb port itself?
I only think this as last night when I plugged in before bed it made the connection/disconnection sound like 4-5 times as if to say the plug is not in.
But with that said, even when i would plug in and see that it reads the charge is being accepted, I still get nothing hours later.
So if Samsung gets it, will they go into my phone and see the custom rom and tell me to have a nice day as my warranty is now voided for tampering with the original firmware?
Because clearly I have no way to flash it back to stock since the battery will not charge at all.
Entertaining suggestions
Thanks
You do have a way to flash stock, charge the battery externally/put a new battery and unroot and flash stock. Yes if you send it to Samsung they may notice a root so better to get the original firmware in place. I guess the internal charging circuit is flawed but then it shouldn't have charged the new battery at all, not even for a week.

And how do i charge the battery externally, you left that bit out.
Using some other N7000! Look, I'm just suggesting u, maybe there are other ways to charge externally.
I just took it to the phone shop in the mall and the battery is fully charged, just the phone is not excepting it for some reason.
So the phone is screwed up for sure.
Not sure what to do since I cannot get it to turn on to put it back to stock rom
Send it to Samsung, the circuit must be damaged. Hardware problem, you may get away with a root.

I have not touched my phone since I put the custom rom on there about a year ago.
Problem is I have no pc anymore, i only have my mac, is there a way currently to flash the stock rom without needing a pc?

only other way is using mobile odin but phone need to be in working state for that. Try the last option for the service center if it is not even starting they would not be able to check which rom you have and if the motherboard is replaced (just assuming) then there is nothing to be worried about.

Well i took the battery to the shop and they said it was fully charged so its the phone
But now the aftermarket (extended life) actually took a charge when I got home, the phone read 100%, so i turned it on and it said 53% and charging, hmmmm
SO i removed betterbattery app and restarted the phone, then it said low battery again.
So its taking a charge but not holding it now.
I dont remember how to use the Odin since I did the rom flash and so on a year ago and have not touched my phone since I did the root and all of that so I dont remember how lol.
Plus I have only my macbook now and no pc

Use Mobile ODIN Pro, available on Google Play.

You can put a stock firmware in your phone and then flash it. Refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899

What screen on time do you have from 100% to 0%? You are always connected with wifi/3G? Before buy a new battery you can try to recalibrate: plug the charger, wait almost an hour after it reached 100% then unplug, use the device without charge it and let the battery discharges until the automatic power off, with device off plug again the charger and let it reach 100% then you can power on and use it without charging and again discharge to power off, do this for three times. If after this operation the battery backup is still poor you can buy a new battery on eBay, many are original, just check that is 1500mAh and is as the battery that comes with the phone
I have tab s 8.4 lte model. Got it new. I was getting 3-4 hours of screen timing which was ****,
I did the back cover removal procedure and disconnected and reconnected the battery connector to see if it fixes the problem.
I then started tne device and draimed the battery to 0%. I then connected charger and charged the tab for over 5 hours. Just now i saw that it showed 100% charged.
I removed the charger and switched the tab on and it says 1% battery...WTFFFFF???
I connected charger again and now it says 9% left.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?? CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP ME?
Its probably not reading the battery correctly. Have you tried recalibrating and drain and chargeing it for like a couple times?

Im guessing your rooted. Well go into the play store and search for battery recalibrate. Pick one and install. Then follow what it siads to do and it should clear your battery stats. Now about the charging, i had a phone that didnt go above 50percent charge. So what I did is let it drain completely till it cannot turn on with the power button. Now just use a different charger or somesort and let it charge fully and dont turn it on till its at 100 percent. Then try and turn it on without the charger and see if it reads correctly.

Now completely drain and charge it for about 2 times. If that doesn't work then it might be something loose with the battery.

Had same problem custom kernel fixed my problem i have tab s10.5 lte battery drained from 100 to 0 in 40min
---------- Post added at 04:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:09 PM ----------
If u dont want to try custom kernel install advanced battery calibrator from play store and try with that it seemed to help with tab s aswell
Yeah resetting the fuel gauge could help. Try sky high kernel
Hi there. I also face exactly the same problem as you. Today I open the back cover and disconnect and connect the battery connector. But my Tab S become worst. Does your tab become better?

Its not software problem. I have flash the stock firmware and wipe everything and reset still the same. I also put custom rom also doesnt fix it. Still the same. I guess I got the defective one. Custom kernel also no use.
Gee wilikers Beav, could it be a bad battery?

Then your best chance is to rewert it to stock and hope that they wont check knox count in warranty repairs.
I'm guessing you have a micro sd inserted.
Check your battery stats. See if "media server" or "indexservice" is in a high percentage. Turn it off. Tha saps the battery more faster than Sylvester says "suffering sukatash!"
Heavy usage results into 4 hours batt average
If all else fails looks like you have a faulty battery
HI... How things athithi going on? Can't you replace by your self the battery? Someone knows where to buy an OEM battery?
My 8.4 battery is doing really weird things.
It'll be at say 34% and then plummet to 5% and shutdown.
So i plug it in, and the battery meter icon will pop up saying theres 25% battery available!.
I turn on the tablet and use it normally again. Very odd/
i had this issue once , the battery went crazy , auto reboot after a few minutes, then i went to customer service and they said that this issue was common :v They fixed the battery connector and it was normal again :v
Download battery monitor, this is probably the most comprehensive battery app available. It will tell you if your battery is actually charging and not just the phone detecting the charger being plugged in. It measures mah, if this doesn't change then the battery isn't charging
