Hi guys,
Ive noticed that there isn't really much activity on these forums.
Only a handfull of roms, nothing like the Desire ( the phone i had before this one).
So my question basicly is this phone unpopular or just not sold alot or something?
the phone is expensive and then maybe people would think 2 times before you flash it, now as you can see there have been some steps forward! ics rom etc..! now that was released on one x I'll show you that the phone will be popular because of price and audio and thank you and terrific at the price you will buy will decrease in many ... the desire hd 4 months after launch did not have all the Rom, the same goes for the hd2! (which continues to grow thanks to the ridiculously low price and the amount of ROM)
The phone is popular, but Lot of people bought For that price an Apple because The name

I didnt see a dual core, for the same price, which is faster than the sxl.. 1.5 dual or single.. the different is to small.. think the phone is not unpopular, but lot of guys bought last year an sgs2, and the apple 4, so most of them have an smartphone.. so i think..
It's unpopular because of mediocre specs. Particularly the single core, older gpu and lower display ppi. But I rate the actual user experience better or equal to the highly regarded sgs2. In practice the single core processor is pretty speedy and it shows in benchmarks where it outperforms the excellent sgs2 in vellamo and sunspider. The screen resolution is fine for my use and has better view angles and contrast than the XE. Most people condemned the phone before actually using it.
I bought the phone purely for the size of the screen... just perfect for me...

Same here. Loving the bigger screen, and it looks fantastic. Everyone i know who has seen it thinks it's fantastic. Even the local iPhone owners are jealous and want it.
but then again, i did used to have the Athena....

Hey guys,
I'm currently choosing either the sensation or the inc. s as my next phone.
opinions?
- i heard sensation is a little laggy/buggy and that is has wifi issues. (i use wifi ALOT)
- also heard the sensation's screen is a bit more "washed out"
- sensation is more future proof, and has a better design overall. (imo)
- i prefer the 4" screen of the incredible, but not the back design. (maybe i'll get used to it though!)
- audio quality is important (through headphones)
thanks for the help
sensation and incredible s is both being offered at the same $0 on a 3 year so price difference is not an issue.
i'm also not interested in rooting/modding
I think the Incredible is enough, if you prefer the larger screen (4.3"), should be choice Sensation. Because the dual chip of sensation is less quality compare with Galaxy S2...
If both cost the same and its a 3 year contract, go for sensation. Sent future proof with the dual core.

personally go for Incredible S
commercially go for sensation .
its the choice you make .......
Is go for the sensation myself.

Pick your pros and cons
Mine:
Sensation
pros: - Dual core (It'll last awhile but honestly.. i dont think any phone will last a while at the rate they're currently coming out!)
- Since you don't like to root.. you'd get sense 3.0 instead of what's currently on the incredible and I'd assume that you'd get more updates on the sensation
I wish I could help you more but I've honestly never had or even played with the sensation yet.. (I've only had the incredible S and would LOVE the sensation)
Incredible S
pros: - 4" Screen (I love 4" I don't like any bigger)
The cost (It's cheaper here in Canada (~250-300), as opposed to sensation (~$500)
- I like the back! Phone will also last a while!
Yeah.. I don't have too much reasons, I don't even have both the phones anymore (Just sold off my incredible S for the Motorola atrix and DAMN I REGRET IT motoblur is absolutely terrible.. I've rooted it but I still hate the UI and everything. I have to really focus the 5MP camera on the atrix to get a good solid picture, the incredible s takes pretty solid pictures without trying to focus!)
If I were you.. I'd go for the sensation
a) It's worth more
b) It's better in most ways
c) thats it sorry!
Well I have been in this Chaos for the last one month and thats the reason I didnt buy any ..lol..
HTC Incredible S compared to Sensation:
1) Compact perfect size
2) Very good battery life
3) Expensive for its specs. I mean only abt 100$ price difference from Sensation.
4) Laggy on some HD games like I played Avatar on it and it laggy.. not smooth
HTC Sensation:
1) official full sense 3.0
2) Dual core (future Proof)
3) Touch screen issues
4) Worst battery life. (poorer than DHD)
5) Massive size
The main reason I dont like Incredible S is because its not future proof and I had the HTC Desire and its not very fast comapred to that. Just slightly better
The Reason I dont like Sensation is coz it has worst battery life and not as fast as other Dual core phones.

I'd go sensation, or if you're able to wait a little longer, hang on till the next device is released whether that be the holiday, bliss or kingdom
Swyped from HTC Desire S using XDA Premium
For the same price I would choose Sensation, without hesitation.
Incredible S : CM7
I almost went for a sensation but 2 things stopped me:
Screen problems - widely reported all over the net, check out the 106+ page thread in the Sensation forum IIRC, still no effective solution to solve it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129272
Price (UK) - Currently, for a limited time - Carphonewarehouse are selling the Inredible S for 270ish which is imo a great deal (hence i bought it).
If you can wait, wait otherwise imho - you can't go wrong with IS
thanks for the replies everyone
leaning towards the incredible s after hearing about several issues withthe sensation as well as the smaller 4" screen. i hope sense 3.0 (minus the 3d animations) come to inc s though

You do realize you're only going to get biased answers here, right?
I went for the Note because it has a bigger screen, a stylus, a replaceable battery and an sdcard slot.
Likewise...mainly for the screen size... I mean I have friends who all have 4.6 in down and it looks absolutely normal from spectator's, I on the other hand love the attention - yrs spec wise HTC one x does outweigh the phablet - you can compare this to apple laptops vs Sony, HP... the Macs have the lower specs overall yet people buy it for its unique looks and simplicity...(probably why the upcoming windows 8 look so much simpler than W7)

It pretty much come down to this
GNote: Battery life and huge beautiful screen
One X: Quad-core
I don't think quad is needed as of now, so I would pick the GNote
Another "me-too" phone with higher-end specs (One X) vs. a genuinely unique, niche device (phablet with Wacom digitizer; N7000).
Seems like two different markets.
the main improvements over the note come from the one x's quad core CPU. if you compare them both in GPU benchmarks at the same ressy, they both perform quite similarly. when nvidia announced that the tegra3 would be 3x faster... they were comparing it to the tegra2.
so the main improvement will be in web browsing (android browser supports quads), smoother interface, and improvements in apps that support multicores (very few do aside from benches).
the only thing that peeves me about the one x is that it doesnt have a microsd slot, but im sure i can work around that with a usb on the go adapter since the htc one x supposedly has an mhl port.
at the moment, im just waiting for the other quad core phones to launch to see if there are any gems. the LG 4X interests me with its expandable storage (support for 64gb microSD), but it doesnt support the 850mhz band on 3G which would be bad for me since vodafone AU has a better 850mhz network than it does with its 900mhz network. theres also the galaxy s3 (same mali gpu but with quad core, so should perform on par with tegra3) and theres a fujitsu tegra 3 phone that has a 13.1mp camera and expandable storage coming soon as well, which should be quiet interesting.
i generally buy my phones outright... so when theres competition, theres a price drop, and thats a win for everyone!
Im gona put my Note in the drawer until ICS and probably get an One X just because i wanna surf the web from its stock web browser flawlessly in contrast to Note's choppy stock browser that loses its hardware acceleration all the time which is a big let down for me.

True! Although i'd get smooth browsing by flashing one of the custom ics roms available in the dev section, i wont have a complete and stable rom with all the features that samsung is going to include in the final ics rom! So i'll be patient rather than flash ics just to see 4.0.3 under Android Version..

Galaxy Note
I was able to play with a demo unit of the HTC One X and I have to be frank after having used the Galaxy Note since November the screen size and quality has just become so familiar that holding anything smaller just feels odd. I might be biased to the Galaxy Note for now as there doesn't seem to be any apps that utilize all four cores and any gaming I might do would be on a PS Vita or Nintendo DS.

Hi there personally I prefer the sensation xl.it is what I have.havnt had a problem with the screen and the camera is great.my best mate has the sensation xe and there isn't much difference between the phones.the main difference is xl bigger screen and no sd card slot.the xe has dual core processor and xl has one.but don't let this put u off.it handles multi tasking fine.but the choice is yours ?

Well if U have to choose between those 2, I would say the XL, better camera (my opinion), better design, the performance is not bad.
About the screen problem, well yes, there are few people who reported about scratches or cracks, but, it's quite easy to avoid it: Buy good screen protector, don't put it in skinny jeans all the times, when U have to put it there, try not to run, jump or activities makes your legs/hips work to hard. Follow that, U'll be fine
Camera? Well, what can I say, Stunning! The best I've ever use apart from the One Series
***However, If U don't have to choose between XE or XL, get yourself an HTC One X, much much better to be honest***
Thanks for replaying fast guys..

It annoys me when people say dual core is better than single core both the XE and XL have a clockspeed of 1.5ghz. The extra core in the XE does not magically make it more powerfull. In theory the XE should be better at multitasking. But by that logic. It will be much slower with applications that support only a single thread, as it can only utilize one 750mhz core.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using Tapatalk 2
Buy xl , in my opinion it looks better than xe, but if you like new sense 4.0 i mean full sense 4.0 not lite version ,then rather buy xe
Thanks, and as i can see by time the XL will get Full sense 4...already now Beta ver
and not worth it to buy one-X right ? as i can see there is Auto restart and heat up problems with one x
Every phone has it's own flaws. When you start comparing you would never buy one. I kinda was disappointed at first, of all oppinions about dual/single core but at the end you get a phone not wife So go see them in the store, scroll the menu and you will decide
doovd
XL is better than XE in my opinion it does not matter that is single core it is smooth and fast....it has bigger screen aswell and the battery life is much longer than any dual core phone but the speed is the same U can't tell the difference I think.... but thats only my thinking
Thanks for ur feedback all, i am getting XL after tomorrow

Exactly. I am holding off getting the one x because frankly my sensation xl feels smoother and more responsive in general operations as well as browsing the web. Despite the quad core multitasking is much worse on the one x. You can't switch between apps smoothly like on the xl without having to reload. Oh and battery is much better on the sensation xl than the one x.
If you're into custom ROM development, go for the XE

XE.
XL is 1.5 GHz single core
XE is 1.5 GHz dual core. That is 2 cores at 1.5 GHz each not 750 mhz each
The deciding factor should be screen size. XE will beat XL in performance any day...

It will beat it, if you are hacking in to FBI and CIA. Why should we bring up always the "beat" word. What is there to beat? If you buy a car you don't go to race the s*it out of that engine, right? There will be always something better. We are just talking about the advantages. There are flaws of course but it is still a nice phone....

I would advise against the Desire X as a replacement for the Inc S. It probably wouldn't me much of an upgrade, if at all. The Desire X does have an S4 processor, but it's the lowest end S4 available and is nowhere near the performance levels of the S4's you find in the One X/S, North American GS3 etc. It also uses a significantly older CPU architecture in the Cortex A5, whereas our phone has a Cortex A8 CPU and modern dual cores/quad cores are based on the Cortex A9. The latest S4 processors are loosely based off the Cortex A15 which hasn't been released to the masses yet.
TLDR; Go with a Nexus phone or a higher end HTC than the desire X
Personally, I won't buy another HTC phone until they release a phone with on-screen buttons and 2GB of RAM. I'm hoping they make a phone like that, I really want another HTC.
I like Xperia S.
SGS3 though I don't see my IncS dying anytime soon lol. Ganna have to wait till my contact ends in 2013 Aug. Even then I think I'd be happy with SGS3 though new and better phones would be out by that time lol

I wonder why text reflow is not implemented by default into Android.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I understand it wouldn't be much of an upgrade if I chose the Desire X, but I love the incredible s so much I wanted something similar. I really don't want anything larger than 4", I have my Nexus 7 for things that require a larger screen so that seems to limit my options to mid-range phones these days.

I wouldn't buy me another one. In my opinion other phones are better than this one. If someone has other opinion please tell them to me, i have the phone now for ~1 year and in the last 2 months i am not "good" with this phone. (Sorry for that bad expression don't know how to write it in english actually).
Well there are a lot of awesome Developers for this phone, sorry i am too lazy to list them up here . But the amount of custom roms isn't that high as the poster in over me posted.
I wouldn't buy another one of it, because of some reasons:
- Not many Dev's
- This is my 3rd battery in 1 Year (this is not a reason against the phone, but its a reason for me).
- There are better phones for this price (I can't list some, but i think so).
Hope i could help you

It is only your decision! If you are up for more gaming and ROM flashing then it isn´t a choice at all.
But then again, i love mine it still serves me well. After a year i still got the original battery and it keeps me warm more then a day
