Please help me, what can I do?

Galaxy Odin Stuck on "Set Partition" (Emergency, Please Help!)

Hello,
I just wanted to upgrade to XWJS5, so I flashed JPU with 512 pit and re-partition checked (so then after it I flash JS5 with 803 pit and no re-partition)
Now odin is stuck on "Set Partition" stage and my phone doesn't even show any progress, what should I do?
I don't want to brick my phone
Please answer me ASAP, my phone is stuck here now
The USB is still connected... anyone please?
did you definitely uncheck re partition ??? and have you got all 3 files ??
I flashed stock JS5 with 512 pit (even tho samfirmware says 803 pit )
and its worked like a charm,,, dont panic just breathe and relax and try again.
I'm flashing JPU right now not JS5. You know because JS5 has only 1 file if I flash it alone phone wont bootup.
Re-partition is on, pit is 512, firmware is JPU and CSC/Modem files are selected correctly. Will my phone brick if I unplug it or maybe close odin?
IT WILL BRICK but it will just be a soft brick which means you can fix it by flashing another ROM thru odin...
you will be fine just make sure download mode works after u unplug it
and also js5 comes in 3 files now its on here somewhere,,, download that and flash it
So shall I unplug it now or close odin? And after i've unplugged it, should i re-open odin or keep it there and press flash button?
Can you please give me the 3 files JS5 link? I found one but i'm not sure if it's the correct one.
well you cant keep it plugged in forever lol, unplug it, restart odin. make sure kies (if you have it) is closed (even in the icon tray) and download XWJS5 link is below. flash that with PIT and RE-PARTITION and that should fix it

Issue solved, thanks alot!

[Q] ODIN - Check image files !! Works for others though...

So I've downloaded the following kernels from a link here on XDA that should be swapping kernels to allow me root on my recently upgraded, stock ROGERS 2.3.3 Captivate. Odin is telling me to "Check image files !!" when I load the .tar files into the Select Intergrated Package (and yes, the one package switch is on). I opened the tar to double check it wasn't double-compressed.
What else would be giving me this problem? I'm using Odin 4.28. Curiously, it is showing my phone as detected, my phone IS in downloading mode, but Odin just says (Android) in the Title, no specific model. But it says it's found it on COM 6. <1> Added!! and Detected!!
It's when I load up the kernel tar's and try to start that it yells at me. Is this triggering anything in anyone's mind that I'm doing wrong? Or do I need to provide more info?
I am using Vista 32-bit (legit) on a Dell studioXPS. And I ran it as administrator.
never heard of ODIN 4.28. i think its only up to version 1.82 or so.
sounds like you are using the wrong ODIN

Yeah. That is def the wrong version of Odin. Download the i9000 bootloaders in my sig. Unzip it. Delete the pda.tar.md5 file. Use the included version of Odin (1.82 I think) to flash your kernel.
Alright, quick question - I accidentally flashed the phone, not the pda. I tried to flash the KH2 modem back via phone but ODIN failed. Kies is currently not detecting the phone, and so I decided to try flashing the PDA while I had it open and I would figure the modem out after. ODIN hung, so I closed it and rebooted out of downloading mode and got the Phone ! Computer error. So I figure now I have to flash back to the stock rom and start over again, but this time I would like some advice as to which step to take next. I downloaded I896UXKH2-HOMEBINARY.tar.md5 from another thread here. Can I flash this with Odin - and if so, which is the place to load it? Bootloader? PDA? Phone? CSC? I have no PIT files.
Think it goes into the pda slot. Go back to the thread t you got it from and read the first post of the thread. Also restart your computer before trying to flash again.
can someone upload the modem.zip, please thank you

no recovery , only download mode (i need .pit file )

Hi
I was on RocketRom V5 and wanted to go back to GB
so i tried to install a stock GB rom using PC odin but it failed in the middle of the proccess
now the phone can only go to download mode
and if I tried to boot it or go to recovery mode it says "Frimware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again"
now every time i try to install a stock rom using PC odin it fails
and the useless kies is giving me an error like massage in chinese
so if there is a way to install any rom without using kies it will very helpful

I too am facing the same situation. Hope someone comes up with a solution.
have you made a wipe while on ICS? was your phone booting normaly when you flashed it with PC ODIN?
try version 1.87 ,and if that doen't work then search for version 3 of ODIN
also do note that you should open task manager and shutdown any kies processes (usually two of them) ,kies will stop an ODIN flash ,so make sure to kill it first
i was really excited when i saw a reply i thought it was an answer
if you found a solution please post it here

it is an answer !!
kill KIES and you should have a smooth flashing ,unless you have corrupted your emmc by wiping on ICS of course

i was referring to the post above you
as i said i uninstalled kies completely
and i was on speedmod kernel which its developer says he did something to the kernel which should prevent the emmc bug
is there a way to know for sure that i corrupted the emmc or not ?
when you uninstalled kies, drivers may have been affected. reinstall drivers and try again. if you can, use another pc.
Zapped through server hops to XDA forums
just tried PC odin 1.87 and no diffrence

yes speedmod is safe ,you have nothing to worry about a brick.
now there could be many things that effect a flash:
1.bad cable
2.running as a standard account (select run as administrator)
3.wrong set of drivers ,to resolve download and install the latest KIES ,then kill it's processes.
4.wrong ODIN version (1.87 recommended)
5.as a last resort you shold flash a pit file (but that's risky)
anyway go to this thread and download ODIN from there and flash a GB ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
note that the drivers are included in this thread if you do not wish to install KIES again.
just follow this guide to the letter and you should be fine.
i changed the cable with a brand new cable that was in the original package of the phone
run as administrator
reinstalled the drivers from DR.ketan thread
tried odin 1.85 & 1.87 & the new odin 3 that has a slightly diffrent cyan UI
so im afraid i need to take the risk (BTW, what are the risks ?)
and flash a pit file
so can you please tell the right way to flash a PIT file so i can avoid the risks
your help are greatly appreciated
so anybody has a sulotion for this ?
i have been searching for a solution till now with no luck

If you can have it covered under warranty somehow, then try to seek help from SS service. Otherwise, the method in the thread below could be useful.

cheers,
i think i will take to samsung service
thank you guys for helping

the risks could involve a permanent brick (not even download mod) , can you post exactly what ODIN says?
post ODIN log please
EDIT: maybe by any chance that you flashed an ICS bootloader? if so then it maybe the cause for this ,you should try to flash the official LPf using ODIN ,and if it works and the phone boots then flash Speedmod ics kernel on top of it (before wiping or anything).
here I found this pit file on the internet ,you need to choose your model (16gb or 32 gb) ,it's most likely 16gb ,right?
remember this is a last resort ,so don't use it
i will go with safer method and take it to samsung service :d
thanks anyway youve been a great help
EDIT :
sh*t , its a day off for samsung service
so ill live another day without my Gnote
this is ODIN log
<ID:0/009> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/009> cache.img
<ID:0/009> NAND Write Start!!

<ID:0/009>
<ID:0/009> Complete(Write) operation failed.

what do you think ?? flashing a .pit file would solve anything
and should i load a pit and a PDA file in odin or only .pit file ??

if you still have warranty then by all means ,take it to the service center.
if you don't however then you should not give up this easily ,unless you have some cash lying around and you wish to give it to them.
either ways it's your call
good luck

weird ,it's failing to flash at factoryfs ,but it's not getting stuck during the operation.
I want you to try two things:
1.try to flash just a kernel ,try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1068654&d=1337346991
this is the cm9 safe kernel ,if the flash with ODIN goes successful then you can boot into recovery and try to fire a nandroid restore from there
be careful flashing this with ODIN will give you a triangle and count ,so if you still have your warranty ,try to find and flash a stock kernel (which will not give you a triangle).
2.if none of the above works ,then select only the 16 GB pit file and flash it alone ,do not interrupt a pit file flash ,let it take as long as it wants . if you interrupt it then your phone is gone.
after that flash a full GB ROM with removing .pit and unticking repartition.
but I haven't done this before so if you want to go through with it I suggest you wait for someone with actual experience at this.
pit file
Here you go with 16 GB pit file

Semi-Brick....could be the eMMC brick!?!?

Hello all,
I recieved a Galaxy Note for repair from a friend of mine. She says that the phone was working normally until it rebooted and then didnt get past the first Samsung Galaxy Note Logo.....she took it to samsung who said it was a faulty motherboard (hint: possible eMMC brick, though in India, thats their go-to response). The phone now shows a firmware upgrade failed sign (PHONE----------!-----------PC) telling me to plug it into Kies, which doesnt recognize it. It doesnt go into recovery mode at all but goes into download mode. I opened odin and flashed a stock gb rom with pit file(repartition ticked). The phone gets stuck at Set Partition. Have tried different Odins, different USB Cables, ticking diff. options in odin and god knows what else. How do i get this phone up and running? Is it the emmc brick bug? I think it is...
did you kill kies processes before using odin?
Yup. Done already....no change
if it gets stuck at repartition process, then its more than an eMMC brickbug. How its the phone right now?, can you go to recovery?. The best you can do: flash a safe kernel and then a cyannogenmod (or AOSP) rom, if it boots (probably you will get a lot of force closes), try to flash a jelly bean stock rom (without repartition) and then repartition it.
If still not work, the last option its jTag (riff box), it will repartition the whole phone.
Sorry my bad english
Hmmm, I'm not sure about that last part, but if I do it without repartition, it gets stuck at nand write of cache. Right now, it either goes into upgrade failed connect to kies sign or into download mode, both of which I'm guessing are the same
try uninstall and reInstall you samsung usb driver...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
and try use other pc odin version..
try flash without repartition.
Checked. Same issue

Odin stuck on?..
lets try flash kernel using pc odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Odin is stuck on this screen. Phone is in download mode. Cannot go into recovery.
You might need a usb jtag thing.maybe that will help in getting ur phone 8dentifiedby odin
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
It is recognized by Odin, it just cant flash anything. One thing though, odin 3.07 atleast has the courtesy to tell me that it failed on set partition, odin 1.85 gets stuck at set partition.
what are you trying to do? you are only selecting the PIT file and nothing else in Odin. use the Original PIT not modified one with the rom file in PDA .
Nothing more is supposed to happen if only PIT file is added to odin. Donot use a custom PIT file till its confirmed a EMMC corruption.. use the original PIT file from Dr Ketans Guide in Original Dev Section

[Q] unsoft brick i9000

Hello!
I softbricked my i9000 trying to root it with Odin. Then I found out how to unbrick it also using Odin3: I downloaded the *.pit file and pressed start, but I didn't know I was also supposed to uncheck Re-Partition box. Then I found this solution on XDA and the guide said that it has to be unchecked. When I had tried that, it said "No binary is selected". What am I supposed to do?
Thank you in advance!

This can only be done when using Odin3 Version 1, other versions of Odin3, you have to include ROM (binary) when flashing PIT file.
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
