[Q] Official T-Mobile Firmware - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've flashed onto my galaxy s 2.3.5 JVS firmware and im trying to flash onto that the official t-mobile firmware. i downloaded it off sam mobile website and the only file it gave was the pda. I flashed it onto my phone but it kept boot looping. im now going to try flashing it through mobile odin as the computer version caused the boot loop.
the file is JV9_JV7_JVO.tar
Does this flash need a pit file or just the pda?
thanks

You only need a .pit file if you have 3 files in your firmware pack and have repartition ticked in Odin.

[Q] DDJP6 Flash with odin

i have updated to DDJp6 via kies, now what i need to know is if i want to reflash the same firmware with odin..

you need 512 pit
flash KG3 in odin as pda, phone and csc
or you could flash JVR as your pda, and use the KG3 phone for your modem and KG3 as your CSC -- this would give you the correct csc, a gb modem and the most recent official samsung firmware, jvr as your pda file
if you are in a bootloop with odin but have download mode showing, no need to panic, I would not even worry about pit, just flash the jvr pda file with kg3 in phone and csc and tick auto boot -- the odin flash will repartition the sd card anyways.

[Q] I need step by step instructions to go back to stock froyo and update via kies

Hello friends
I have searched and found a lot of threads but my obsession has not been solved.
I am on DDJPA indian GB flashed via Odin.I want to get back to stock froyo so that i can update to GB via odin.[Told u so!It is an obsession like having a perfect one!!! and i have a glimmer of hope that our Tab may get official ICS and i want it via kies but kies now does not recognise my Tab]
I have downloaded stock indian froyo[the one i had] from samfirmware.I have also downloaded flashing manual also from samfirmware. It says that i should flash pit file first with repartition and then remove battery & then go to download mode again to flash PDA tar file without repartition.
I am totally lost here.
I tried to flash with pit and PDA Tar file with repartition. It flashed successfully but when it boot was stuck at Samsung logo for about 30 minutes.[Should i have waited some more time at samsung logo flashing stage?]
Then i re-flashed with DDJPA GB tar with pit thro odin and revived the Tab.
Can anybody give me step by step instructions regarding how to flash via odin to get back to stock?

Q - Go back to stock branded rom

Hi guys
need to return phone to stock O2 UK rom.
my internal sdcard is dead. but need to get rid of any root/flashing
found an O2 UK rom on samfirmware (I9000XWJVH_O2UJV3_BWJV2), but it only contains 1 file... jvh_jv3_jv2.tar
how do i flash 1 file with odin? im confused?
normally its pda, modem, csc, pit....
The same way you found the stock firmware.
go to the flashguide and download the guide for you're phone.
Flash the one file in the PDA option of Odin. If there is a pit file then flash with the pit file & repartition checked. If no pit file then flash with repartition unchecked.
If unsure find instructions on SamMobile as mentioned above.
ok cheers
it just confused me with 1 file.

Please Help

Ok so I have a note 4 that was not working properly as it would boot into Odin mode when I tried to turn it on. That being said, it sometimes would boot normally or not turn on at all. So my solution was to root it and install a custom rom (like cyanogen mod). So I got odin and the twrp file and the custom kernel and followed the steps necessary: flash twrp, flash the kernel, flash super su, etc. But the problem is that Odin says "no pit binary". So I google it and found out that I could repartition it using a stock ROM and the correct pit file. I did that and it failed as well. So I turn to keis and do the firmware and initialization thingy, that ends up failing too. So I go back to odin and try to flash stock firmware but it fails after " writing NAND " thingy or it fails saying "cannot open specified file" or "no pit file ". What can I do.[emoji27]

Hey bud. Are you trying to flash a pit file and firmware or just firmware. And is it a N910T and if so on what build of firmware..? Send a screenshot of download mode...and also try to rename the extracted firmware file from .md5 to .tar and try to flash
Its a N910T and its on 5.1.1, i read on another XDA thread that to repartition something you need stock firmware (which I have a 5.1.1 one) and the right pit file (I have the N910T one) and that in odin put the extracted firmware file and on pit put the pit file. I did that and it failed. And how would I rename the file ... Would I just rename it on the file explorer on windows?

First it was a pit file and firmware, but now I'm trying to unbrick it by flashing just firmware on odin since keis doesn't seem to help. And yes it is an N910T, dont know the exact build but it is 5.1.1 ( would flashing a different 5.1.1(for the n910t) build matter or not, since its still 5.1.1 ?)
Yea if your on dok2 you can't go back to anything under that. It will fail every time. What firmware build u got

I dont know... The latest one ( the update for stage fright was the last update I had installed on there. Since it's soft bricked ( the connect to kies message) I can't tell what the exact build was... I just know its a 5.1.1 build.)
