Battery question

I bought backup battery for my wings on ebay, LIBR-160. Battery looks the same as original but with one difference. Original battery has metal back side that connects two metal contacs on back of the phone. Replacement battery is isolated on back side.
Does any one knows what are two contacts in battery compartment?

[Q] TyTN II Motherboard battrey

Anyone can advise what is the effect of removing the internal battery which is soldered to the motherboard? Thinking of removing it to prevent any battery leakage issues. If the battery is only to maintain the clock, I would wish to remove it if it does not impair other functions.
go under the settings -> system -> power and see if there are two meters..if you have a "main battery" and a "backup battery" meter then i guess removing it it'll impair other functions. can't test because of my battery issue, but if helps, when i removed the motherboard battery, nothing changed..my phone is still ****ed up
so far there is only the primary battrey being on the power indicator. Unlike my older Dell Axim there is 2 types of battrey indicator
my advice is to leave it there..i didn't heard anybody having battery leak issue :-s
I have removed the coin cell battery from the motherboard. Just cut the metal that is holding the battery to the motherboard. is a 3yo unit and the coin cell has green oxidization at the sides. Just use a small wire cutter. I can confirm that the coin cell is only for the clock. All other functions not affected.

dock? is it charging. how do i know? DOCK-EC32T-0205 the keyboard works

at the moment i got 68 percent battery life - green bar
and dock is showing a small red battery level
IIRC, there's a tiny flash icon inside the battery indicator, when charging is in effect.
Otherwise, you can go into settings->power, where it will list whether or not the unit is on AC power or battery power...

Question about Samsung LED wallet case and wireless charging

Those of you with the Samsung LED wallet case: When you place/remove it from a wireless charger, do you see an LED battery icon showing on the front of the case at all? I noticed that I do get an battery and percentage icon when I physically plug/unplug the phone, but not when using wireless charging.
nope! the case uses NFC and might interfere with the coils used for wireless charging. You'll notice that the LED case needs to turn off for charging to start/work. Say you get a message while it's on the charger you'll see that the thing stop charging while the case lights up.

Removed back cover, now won't turn on

I peeled off the back cover so I could swap on a new one and put a new Slickwrap on. With it still off, I found I can't get the phone to turn back on. I also found that I made a small puncture in the battery foil just under the edge of the black mat that the wireless coil in on. There's a glue/paint smell in that area that the rest of the open phone doesn't seem to have.
Should it be able to turn on with the back cover off or is there some "safety" that prevents that?
Is a small puncture in the foil a problem, or is it just a cosmetic wrap?
I have not put the new back cover on yet.
I plugged it in and the screen showed the charging battery animation. Still open back.
I put it on my wireless charger and it powered on automatically. Doesn't seem to respond to pushing the power button. No back cover still.
The volume buttons don't work either. I put the old cover back on and got no change.
I reseated the ribbon cable by the power/volume buttons and it seems to be fine now.
Still wondering about the battery foil puncture though?
I would replace the battery, just to be on the safe side. They are not too expensive. You don't want your phone to be a Galaxy Note-like bomb in your pocket.
Also, if it is the original battery, it will be old by now. Many people (me included) have had to replace their batteries because of sudden power offs.
The battery life has really held strong so far. And I am considering a new phone come Black Friday, so I might hold off on a new battery for now. I'd get a Pixel 3xl, if it weren't for the lack of headphone jack.
