[Q] HELP ASAP PLEASE! Superuser not granting permission

please help
i tried using root explorer and titanium back up and many other apps that require root access but the superuser prompt for granting access isn't appearing someone please help me get it working asap

Try settings applications superuser clear data abd reboot and try to gain access again

Go into settings/applications / manage applications. Then scroll down to the superuser app and force close then clear data. Then go to the app in your app drawer and restart the app. Then go into the settings of the superuser app and scroll down to notification type and choose regular / normal notification instead of toast notification. Then try your apps that require su you should be good to go. Let me know if this works.

titanium backup says i am rooted but i don't have busybox so i need busybox but i can't get it to install that either...i even tried to use the busybox installer fromt the market but superuser won't grant it access......
this is holding me back big time on my phone lots of apps require superuser to grant them access

Kifno did you try reflashing your rom again you shouldn't loose any settings or apps.Also you could try uninstalling superuser and reinstalling it,or don't know which recovery you are using but you could try fix permissions.

Also don't update the binarys a couple roms have that problem when u flash a new rom go to the market first thing and make sure su isn't automatically updated if so stop it I had to do that coming from cm6.1 to asop9.9.2

I did a complete wipe of every thing and re flashed my rom and this time I used the apps2sd that was built into the rom instead of flashing the new one on that one thread lol.....flashing newer apps 2 sd was the problem lol

[Q] Manually update SU?

can i manually update the SU ? i used AndRoot to root my g1 and i was able to "root" it but i noticed that i didn't get SuperUser along with it so i've tried googling several solutions to come up with one where i can download it from the market.
i downloaded from the market and there was an update for it. after pressing okay after a request to update the SU, a toast came up saying it had successfully update it but it didn't update because i could not get permission from my root apps. oddly, i can access root apps but there wasn't a pop up asking for permission..

So in other words everything works just fine? You just want to have the actual application for SuperUser?
You can always try to download the APK and use that instead of your current SU.
I'm unsure if the superuser application is universal, or specific to device, but it's worth a shot.

[Q] Root is useless?

I decided to finally go root because i would like to use apps like gamecih or dsploit... But when I go into the apps it says something like: "No root permission was given", or, "No busybox installed", does anybody knows how to correct this problem?

The one on this forums... And its rooted i can use apps like Titanium Backup or even verify with superuser. But not all the root apps work!

I have used Root Check, to see if my device is rooted or not.

Apps request root access twice, second time with [uid]

Hi all
I've run into this this morning just to realize that it had happened before :
swapper2 app, which has had root access since I installed it (of course), requested root access but under the name "swapper2 [uid]".
I granted the access and checked in SuperSU, the app appears twice, once as "swapper2" and once as "swapper2 [uid]".
There is another app with "double root access" : catlog.
Can someone explain why this is so, and whether I should worry or not ?
For the moment, I removed the second root access of both apps.

It's a quirk in how these apps request root access. If the first time the [uid] variant showed up was when actually using those apps, then there is nothing to worry about.

Open supersu go to settings uncheck Re-authentication

I don't want to uncheck re-auth, I want to be that the apk running with root is the one I allowed to run with root.
Those two apps where not updated, swapper2 was sideloaded, I don't think it's available on the play store.

Lost root and cant re-root

I had my phone rooted and all working fine on Nougat. I then tried installing secure settings for Tasker and since around this time, i've lost root and if i try flashing super su in TWRP, each time i boot and check i'm not rooted. If i open Super Su app it tells me that the framework needs to be updated and to reboot, i do this and it just keeps telling me the same.
The only thing i am thinking may have broken this is i found a guide to get Secure Settings working on nougat where someone suggested creating a folder with root file explorer called 'su' in system/bin. Now when i open up Titanium Backup it tells me it could not acquire root and say the attempt was made using the "/system/bin/su" command which im thinking means it's looking somewhere there is an empty folder?
I cant now of course delete the system/bin/su folder i created as i cant enable root in File Explorer so i'm pretty stuck and not sure what i can do. I've tried the cleanup and full unroot in the supersu app and then flashing supersu in twrp again but still says no root when i check
Any suggestions?

This post was a bit more informative than your "my device unrooted itself" post in the stable thread.
Dirty flash your system or use the file manager in TWRP to remove the offending folder.

I was thinking of trying that but fixed it a different way as I just posted in the SuperSU thread. But in case anyone else ever has this problem...
I fixed my issue. By disabling SuperSU and enabling again from the app settings and it gave me root. I then deleted a created su folder in system/bin that I manually created earlier when trying to get secure settings working.
