Today I opened Samsung Kies and have it upgrade to Version 2.0.0.11014_49. After Kies upgrade completed I connected my SGS to the USB port and Kies told me that new firmware upgrade is available. My current firmware is DXJPA and the new offered firmware is DXJPE.
I click the upgrade firmware button and Kies started to download the file. After the file download finished, the upgrade process started, my SGS showed text "Downloading Do Not Turn Off Target!!!", but suddenly notification pop up from Kies saying "Failed to convert to Upgrade Mode", and right after it, the upgrade process stopped and my SGS stopped working.
What should I do guys? I desperately need help here
Download the Official DXJPE firmware from

Password : samfirmware.com
803.PIT Link http://www.multiupload.com/6JX2LEUCTY
Put your Galaxy S in DOWNLOAD MODE and flash using Odin.
Fortunately, after trying to restarting, my phone back to normal again, looks like the upgrade process didn't touch the existing firmware yet.
Thanks for the help anyway
I had flashed my I9000 with stocked xxjpu. my location is India, and I could have used ddjp6 or something. Now, once I flashed my phone, Kies does not connect to it. It shows in connecting mode and stays there forever.
Workaround tried:
I tried the fix with SGStool but not working.

Please help me to get Kies connected so that i can upgrade my phone to I9000DDJV6.Official Gingerbread released in India through Kies
For Kies to conect you need to be on you stock firmware.
I find Odin and custom Rom's much better then stock firmware, and Kies. But that's just me
Okay. So I had to sell my mums SGS because we needed the money, but before i sold it, I had made a backup of the rom via CWM.
NOTE>the phone was on 2.3.5
So anyways. I bought another SGS for her the other week running 2.3.3 and i havent been able to get kies to load up on my pc so i can update it to 2.3.5. I've searched all over google and youtube. used all methods however, when i click kies, i just get a loading circle on my pc(Windows7) and then the circle stops. Kies never opens. I've reinstalled but it still won't open.
When i go into settings/aboutphone/updatephone. it says theres no update for it when it's clearly running 2.3.3
I wanna restore my mums phone with the backup however i can't update my phone to 2.3.5 to do so.
Note' I havent been able to find any versions of kies to see if they'd work

Okay , first go to sammobile.com and register go to firmwares and smartphones , android, GT-I9000 select your region and look for android 2.3.5 download then download Odin and unzip the firmware , you have PDA or CODE Phone or MODEM and CSC and pit file put your phone in download mode by turning it off then press the down volume button and the home button and the power button at the same time open Odin and connect your phone vi USB cable and press the pit and select the pit file then PDA and select the PDA or Code file then Phone and select Phone or Modem after that CSC then press start your phone will flash and you are on android 2.3.5 )
Thanks guys, I'll try this tonight
I saw I had a update for my phone so I went though kies like normal and let it do its thing. The update downloaded but it didn't complete the update and now my phone is pretty much stuck in recovery mode with no options to do a factory reset and saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again." I have tried this multiple times and with multiple cables including the one that came with the phone and pretty much a no go there. After those failed attempts I downloaded the current version from Sam Mobile and am trying to flash it with odin which is currently not going anywhere just sitting at system.img.ext4 and not progressing I have tried multiple versions of odin and it just keeps getting stuck at that point. Is there a way I can get my phone working again or am I screwed?
Check out this thread. It's an alternative to Odin. Thread if for S6 but this should work on the Note 4. I have not tried this

You shouldn't use kies use smartswitch.
Note 4 and S6 are setup for smartswitch.
