Please help me to get Kies connected so that i can upgrade my phone to I9000DDJV6.Official Gingerbread released in India through Kies
For Kies to conect you need to be on you stock firmware.
I find Odin and custom Rom's much better then stock firmware, and Kies. But that's just me

Today I opened Samsung Kies and have it upgrade to Version 2.0.0.11014_49. After Kies upgrade completed I connected my SGS to the USB port and Kies told me that new firmware upgrade is available. My current firmware is DXJPA and the new offered firmware is DXJPE.
I click the upgrade firmware button and Kies started to download the file. After the file download finished, the upgrade process started, my SGS showed text "Downloading Do Not Turn Off Target!!!", but suddenly notification pop up from Kies saying "Failed to convert to Upgrade Mode", and right after it, the upgrade process stopped and my SGS stopped working.
What should I do guys? I desperately need help here
Download the Official DXJPE firmware from

Put your Galaxy S in DOWNLOAD MODE and flash using Odin.
Fortunately, after trying to restarting, my phone back to normal again, looks like the upgrade process didn't touch the existing firmware yet.
Thanks for the help anyway

And I am affraid you have to go to a Samsung Service Center....
Are there some errors in odin, when you try to flash a new firmware i.e. stock firmware or roto's firmware?
Hello there.
Have fallen into a greater problem. After some unlucky results with flashing new firmware/custom roms (darky), i tried to flash back on a custom rom 2.1 from 2.3.4.
to get a clean install.
On 2.3.4 i already had problems getting the phone connected, even on download mode with odin, mass storage or anything. Though i managed to treak the it by jumping between download mode and recovery mode some few times. It resulted in odin recognize the usb for a short time, enough to flash it back on 2.1
Now it wont connect in any way and kies neither. I've tried reinstall the usb drivers through Kies and updating + reinstall it, but no luck.
So dear experts, how can it be fixed?
when i update galaxy gt_ i9000 with odin 1.83 it stay in setup connection or by odin 1.7 stay on leave cs and stay at that up to 2 hour
Is the phone in Download Mode?
make sure kies is off and your drivers are injstalled
Yea i have the same problem... i can flash with heimdall but odin is just stuck at setup connection -.-' don't know why but i reinstalled the drivers i again downloaded a new odin but no luck
1. Try to restart The phone and the PC
2. Try to change the USB slot
I had the same problem, and I did those things. After that, it worked
tried that... no luck...i really know how to flash as i am on this forum for a while now and i have never had any problem... a have literally tried everything... will try on another computer
