Re-download the rom. The zip file is corrupted i guess and also check for the md5 checksum.

Are you running from CWM app or using CWM in recovery mode? I always boot into recovery mode before flashing ROMS - it seems to be the most reliable way.
Also make sure you clear your caches before flashing the ROM (there's lots of posts in the development section about this) Hopefully a few searches in there will help you find a solution. Good luck!

And you must be rooted, so shouldn't have permissions error. Try running a permissions fixer like SU Update Fixer (free on Market), then retry flash, to see if that helps?

What are you currently running for a Rom and Kerenel? I have had this happen a couple of times on Epic4GT. There are some compatibility issues with various versions of CWR and how the rom was packaged.
The first version of Checkrom I tried failed on me too. Then last night I decided to try again and it worked. I was on a stock KK2 rom with Abyss 4.2 kernel and one of the Touch CWR and it worked fine for me this time. Maybe try flashing the Abyss Kerenel and then try flashing the Checkrom again.
Edit
Clear Cache and Delvic cache (under Advanced) before flashing a kerenel. I have seen boot loops if you do not.

This is my walkthrue:

Notthing ... i dont know what am i toing wrong. I've tried everything and still Status 7 ... some symlinks failed.
But other JB roms can be installed normally, with full wipes, in classic CMW and touch CWM [both tantrums] also in stock recovery.
I'm out of ideas ... :/
But anyway, thanx for helping.
When I had this issue I flashed again stock rom, using Smart Flash Tool. After that, the problem has gone.

I had same issue and for me the fix was this:
In Recovery (ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0) go to Mounts and Storage and Mount /sdcard and then Mount /sd-ext. Then I went back and installed zip from sdcard.

So same errror...No fix till now.
In my opinion you're putting a lot of effort in trying to install this rom on your phone but why even bother with a rom that has bugs and is not being developed any further?
It won't get any better anyway.
Just my 2 cents.....

By the way, I could install Gingerbread and ICS ROM's but none CM10x.

[Q] Error installing ROM (please help)

I've installed a number of ROMs on my phone without a hitch ever since rooting it last year.. until now. I did admittedly do one thing different this time around, and that was formatting both the emmc and preload, too, which I'm for some reason now beginning to believe was a bad move. I don't even know why I did that knowing full well that I have absolutely zero technical know-how of these things lol.. Should've just stuck with the fool proof "safe kernel > full wipe > wipe caches > rom and gapps (if required)" formula.
Anyway, I was on a CM10.1 ROM before this happened (vanilla rootbox). I rebooted to recovery, did a full wipe, wiped caches, formatted system, data, preload and emmc, flashed hydracore 7.0 standard and rebooted to recovery again. I then tried installing beerbong's AOSPA PA3.56 ROM which failed with an error that read something like "installation failed, filename.zip (bad)". Even the ROMS that previously installed without an issue won't install now, including vanilla rootbox (returns a status 7 error)..
The f*** have I done ? Please help.
download and copy onto your phone any Philz kernel for JB. After you have flashed that then you can install the other ROMs.

Yeah I've already checked that out -- the problem, however, is that I don't have soldering equipment required for the procedure mentioned :/
I am able to put the phone in download and recovery mode, though (if that can in any way mean that an alternative method to get rid of the yellow triangle can also be used).

It is just name of the ROM, and the developer writes you clearly in the first blue field, in the first text line:
Android Base CM10.1.3. RC1 JellyBean
JellyBean is not ICS (ICS is 4.0.x) so you need Gapps for CM10.1x / Android 4.2.x
CyanogenMod 9 is based on ICS

Are there any install methods using Odin. I see there is a full download on the page but it appears to be for a I9003. Have searched all over and not seen anything as yet

This isn't meant to be flashed via Odin.
Download the rom + addons + gapps + CM9 (you don't need CM9 gapps). You can download the rom + addons from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075058
1.) Backup everything you need to- call logs, SMS, bookmarks, etc with Titanium or other methods of your choice
2.) Reboot into recovery. Perform the three wipe combo (data, cache, Dalvik)
3.) Flash CM9. You'll probably have to flash it twice- once for the kernel, another time for the rom. Let it boot.
4.) Once CM9 has booted, check that you still have reception.
5.) Reboot into recovery again and do the wipe combo. This time choose to flash the base rom. You'll need to flash it three times- once due to the incompatible partition (first flash overcomes this), another time for the kernel, a third time for the rom.
6.) Once the base rom's finished flashing, reboot. Check you still have your IMEI- you'll know if you still have reception.
7.) Reboot to recovery, flash addons (flash Addons then Addons_V1)
8.) Reboot
9.) Back to recovery (AGAIN), flash gapps.
Unfortunately a one-time flash with Odin isn't possible. But the endless flashes you have to do for RemICS V6 is well worth it

thx for your reply and apologies for getting back to you late.
If only i could do it the way you suggested but for some reason (me) i have messed the phone so that it now no longer is able to mount the external SDCard so putting the relevent zip files on the ext card is useless because in recovery mode using CWM these files fail to show.
I note that via CWM it shows the card as unmounted. If i try and do a mount it fails.
any ideas?
thx

What about your internal storage?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
Here is where my noob-ness kicks in.
What internal storage is available by default on the Note1? Is it just the internal sdcard?
what puzzled me when I last flashed with odin (repeated it a number of times as I was trying to get the device to recognise ext sd card) to get the current Darky Extreme rom on (which is working fine no problem at all) is that there was still some relic directory structure left over. These were all empty folders visible when navigating within CWM. Didn't matter what type of formatting I did they wouldn't go. To summarise: much confusion and something got twisted.
So questions arising are:
-How to nuke the internal disk/card properly so there are no remnants prior to me doing another darky reinstall?
-Then, how to copy a zip file to internal card but still have it remain after the format and wipes that would precede a zip install?
-How to fix the device to mount the ext sdcard? FYI other sdcards can't be mounted either. I have tried 4 different ones. And here's the kicker-once booted I go to file manager and there I can see and access all the files/folders on the external card!!! So it's definitely a phone problem as opposed to a sdcard problem. Something got flagged along the line.

[Troubleshooting] (CM 10.2) Stuck at boot screen after reboot

Many of us are facing this problem where after flashing a 10.2 ROM and rebooting, the device is stuck at boot screen- the Samsung N7000 screen!
This is a strange problem which seems to be affecting only some n7000 handsets as others can keep flashing the ROMs without any issues...wiping, reflashing ROM, etc doesn't work!
I myself faced this problem on almost all custom CM 10.2 Roms and am sharing the solution which worked for me. At the onset, this solution was suggested to me by another member @Super Prince in one of my posts and it worked!!
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Flash the correct gapps once again
3. Reboot
The problem should be gone now and no more stuck-iness for you...

Which CM version are you on? This method has worked for me every time on CM 10.2 roms and official CM 10.2 gapps (the one dated 13/08/2013)
I used to get stuck on the GT N7000 screen after every reboot and resorted to all sort of stuff like reflashing, formatting and stuff but to no avail.
The only solution that worked for me was re-flashing the gapps!
Maybe you should try once again with the official gapps..and post your results.

I'm on Carbon, but I tried another CM based ROM as well and it did not work.
I will try it with the official Gapps and Slim Gapps then report back.
EDIT 1: Well. I tried the lastest Carbon nightly 10/17, with both Slim Gapps and normal regular Gapps and the same result, stuck on boot logo.
Both times I flashed a clean install. I'm out of options now.
EDIT 2: When I'm using a kernel from 4.3 and I'm on CWM trying to format Preload, I always get this message:
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
Error formatting /preload
Could that be a possible reason?, does anyone else have that same message?
No suggestions?
Am I'm stuck on 4.2?

It's the same for all on the new Cwm. Preload cannot be formatted in Cwm 10.2.

I tried that last night actually, clean flash and no Gapps and the same result, stuck on boot screen.
What I've tried so far:
- Flashing different 4.3 ROMs with three different Gapps combinations.
- Flashing Carbon with no Gapps.
Thank you in advance for any ideas you can provide.
I have never encountered such an issue after a clean flash ever. So not sure what's going on there.
When a clean install, do you format system, data and cache and then install the new rom?

Yeah, what I do is to do a factory reset twice, then clear cache, then preload twice, data once, system twice and dalvik twice, and only then I flash the ROM and then Gapps.
I let it settle for one hour and then I start the configuration.
It is weird, because if I leave it to boot up normally for the first time, without opening any apps or configurations, it reboots normally. And only when I open Settings or an app, and then I reboot the phone, it gets stuck on the boot logo.
I've even tried to format the SD Card and no difference.

@SirRhor Please try anothjer work-around before you do anything else:
1. Do all the wipes from a safe kernel
2. Flash Rom (only rom and no gapps)
3. Reboot the system without gapps
4. Now, reboot into recovery (I prefer to leave the system for 10-15 minutes to settle down before rebooting)
5. Flash the correct gapps
6. Reboot and set up ur google account etc.Restore apps or whatever u need from the play store. Dabble with rom settings
7. Reboot!
Did it work now?

I'm glad to inform you that I was able to solve my problem following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427569
But instead of flashing the Stock Rooted ROM using Odin, I just flashed it within Philz Recovery.
Right now I'm changing settings and restarting on Carbon 4.3, and so far I have not had any problems.
To anyone experiencing this, just read this thread so you will not waste your time trying ALL the bullcrap I did and instead just try the guide above.
Thank you for everyone who helped me out.
EDIT: Maybe the OP can change the title of this thread to "FIXED" or "SOLVED".
So...which Stock Rooted ROM using to flash?...

Actually, I found a better more permanent solution.
Follow this guide to check for errors on the different partitions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396366
Let me know if it helps.
And to answer your question, I flashed a stock ROM from Hungary I think, no problems.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, instead of using the switches described on that guide, I used -f and -y at same time.

N7000 stuck at boot screen

This phone was not rooted prior to being stuck at the boot screen. Actually, it wasn't event stuck at the boot screen. Instead, it turned on and off. I installed PhilZ recovery and was able to backup all files. Then I tried to flash different versions of CM without success. They all get stuck at the boot screen now. No more turning on and off. I also tried to clear cache, wipe dalvik something and reset to factory. Is there something else that can be done? What would be the most likely cause for the failure?

If you want to install a custom rom type CM11, CM12 or CM13 you have to install a kernel compatible with recovery
Install PhilZ recovery, then from recovery install a compatible kernel
Kernel CM11
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347829437
Kernel CM12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=16862
After flashing the kernel do a
Data factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe Dalvik/ART
Install ROM, install gapps
If it does not work
Data factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe Dalvik/ART
Format system
Format cache
Format data
Install ROM, install gapps

I did everything you said. Unfortunately, my device is still stuck at the boot screen. There were no error messages while flashing the roms and no other unusual events.

Where does it say to install SuperSU? How would that be possible when Android is not booting.

I'm sorry but it's really strange, never had installation issues with any version of this rom
Have you tried this kernel to install the rom?

Alternatively, Odin a stock rom and look for a philz.zip with compatible baseband. You can enter stock recovery and then flash the philz.zip via update option. This is essentially replacing stock recovery with the custom version. I did this on a naturally occurring bootloop phone and it seems to work, this method also bypasses the yellow triangle warning on boot.
From there, if you want to use other custom roms just remember to wipe /data and /system before installing the kernel, followed by rom itself after a reboot to recovery.

I tried that. I went to samsung-updates.com and downloaded a version that I believe is compatible with my baseband version. Is there any way to check what baseband version my phone has? Then I flashed with odin and was stuck in a bootloop. I then flashed PhilZ recovery and the boot hangs at the samsung logo.

Doh! sorry not reading what's in front of me. I did once read that you can get phone number via ADB, maybe the same will work for baseband?

Yes, I tried that. I also tried installing a ROM with a custom kernel that works on my other N7000, but it is still stuck at the boot screen.
