What ICS roms are the best in your opinion.
Also do any of them work with the Lapdock?
Thanks

No ICS ROMS have webtop yet
Any of the XDA brainiacs able to explain to a non-brainiac whether this is a matter of not having gotten around to it or if it's a puzzle that the ICS ROM community hasn't solved yet?
Also curious about the RAZR version of the lapdock app that allows use of the webcam and other functionality that the native Bionic app lacks. Is that portable to the Bionic?
Webtop and bionic - hack it!

I too am wondering this. Or, is it possible to hack the webtop application on the Bionic to add the missing features available on the RAZR? Anyone care to take a stab at that?
Thanks!
No ICS kernel = no HDMI = no lapdock/webtop, at least that's what I figure.

Anyone had any luck getting a USB gamepad to work?
I know about the Wiimote, and that works fine. But I have plenty of old computer gamepads lying around that I could use. I tried a few, with the Gamepad IME app, but they don't seem to work (unless I'm missing something).
I'm on Vegan 1.5.1.
Wait for Ice Cream Sandwich
Firstly, you are not on vegan 1.5.1...you are on 5.1.1. I don't think Vegan Tab has great usb support, perhaps the caulkin+clemsyn rom? Try it out and let us know. I know Ice Cream Sandwich is supposed to support all sorts of USB devices like xbox controllers and such. Cant' Wait!

Hrm...thanks, maybe it's not just me.
I'm thinking of upgrading to the Thrive when it comes out, which has Honeycomb. Maybe that will have better support.

Have you looked in the Gtab android development forums lately?
If you have a 360 controller and a kernel that supports pads, Google xpad.ko and view the xda thread.

I downloaded a native android game from the market called "crazy snowboard". With it installed on two andros devices that teesside in the same wifi network; you can set one device as the screen and one as a controller. This is extremely bad ass with my g-tab & evo. ZERO LAG.
Why is there no app that will do this system wide!?

The information on that page doesn't really do a great job as a walkthrough. :/
Then again it wasnt meant to be one.
Is anyone willing to make a more user friendly version? I'm sure the community would be extremely grateful.

I realize, I could have Honeycomb on the gTab, but it's not something I want to do at present. I don't mind changing ROMs, but mostly I just wanted to get to a good one and stick with it.
Vegan-Tab Gingeredition + latest pershoot kernel *.42 (http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2142) + xbox 360 USB pad. I don't know if the analog sticks work, but all the buttons do!
is there any reason why this wouldnt work with a froyo kernel like vegan 5.1?
The kernel modules aren't pre-built for that with the kernel that comes with froyo. Had to use the latest pershoot. Don't know if that kernel would work with froyo....
Didnt get any hits on this on DF...Does anyone have/use a lapdock with their Bionic? I cannot get the webtop to work through the motorola lapdock 100 with any of the roms I have tried thus far. I have tried Eclipse 2.0, Kinect and Liberty installed through safetrap and none work? I have tried the webtop hack from xda with Eclipse, didn't work. I have to switch to my stock backup to use webtop. Any ideas?

Has anyone using this ROM been able to get google chrome to work? I can install and open the app just fine but when I go to request a webpage, it can resolve websites just fine and the loading bar moves along but nothing ever displays. Does this happen with anyone else?

Same thing for me. Seems like it works perfect other than the fact that the website doesn't actually display.

Exactly!
Exactly! The interface looks really clean and simple. And it appears that the pages load very quick. Just the one little problem of not seeing anything.
Haven't tried this on the D4, but from other devices, Chrome doesn't work because hardware acceleration doesn't work yet. I imagine once we get custom kernels (if that RAZR exploit pans out) or once we get an OTA to ICS and get a 3.0 kernel, this will be resolved.
And fastboot files. That will definitely speed development up knowing you have an unbricking method.

I'm curious what RAZR exploit your talking about, as I haven't heard anything about custom kernels on RAZR or Droid 4.

I'm referring to this thread:

Looks like it is a hardware thing, so if it works it should work for the Bionic, RAZR, and Droid 4!
I am planning to upgrade to a new phone by year's end. Is it worth while to flash to. 232 just to be on ICS? Does it perform better than eclipse 3.0? I suppose that I have to reroot afterwards?,
I've been running since it came out and its like night and day compared to stock blurred gingerbread. You don't need to re root just use voodoo ota root keeper from the play store to back up su binary then update to 232 and restore su binary. Motorola did a nice job with blur in ics. Its very close to a stock aosp experience. Also you can use safe strap to flash versions of cm9 and aokp for the ics leaks, which are fully functional. I definitely think its worth it. Once the ota comes out, its easy to fxz back to 905 and take the ota.

I didn't like ICS due to adobe discontinuing Mobile flash. I use my phone to watch online videos and hook it up to the tv so I'm pretty disappointed with their decision. I understand the whole html5 argument, but html5 is still a few years from becoming standard. I don't see it happening until html5 has developmental tools similar to what flash has.

I did not think to consider that. Thanks.

I'm running ICS Leak 6.7.230 and Flash works perfectly. I don't know what there is to be concerned about.
How do the ICS leaks compare to Eclipse 3 in terms of wireless reception and battery life?
Just kill the cat already and try it? not as if you can't FXZ and nand restore.

Isn't Flash not available from the play store, for those who migrate to ICS leaked ROMs?
Flash was removed a few weeks ago from Google play. If you have the direct link, you can access it, but it won't come up in a search and it wasn't showing under my apps for me. I do a lot of online video with my phone so flash is necessary. Thanks to the HDMI port, I hook it up to the tv at night and turn on some justin.tv, whom is full of crap in their reasons why they don't have a streaming app for Android, even though another developer had an unofficial one.

As for Flash. It will not work in Chrome for me. It does however work in the built in browser and possibly Opera.
It won't work with chrome, but it also wouldn't work in Firefox, dolphin, or the stock browser for me. The closest I was able to get it working was being able to hear the audio but not seeing the video.

Thats odd. Installed the flash player, opened the stock browser and works great on .232

With the same ROM, why are there variations in fucntionality of Flash?
My guess would be is the same reason some bionics on the leak are clocked at 1.2mhz while others are only 1. I don't think anyone knows, its just the way it is unfortunately.

By Stable, I mean have HDMI working, etc. I'm looking for a cyanogenmod or AOSP rom with no problems, preferably one with Webtop or HDMI working, because I hate Moto's UI on 4.1.2 I'd be happy if it were stock looking, with stock functionality, but I'm afraid I'll have to choose one or the other.
Last time I checked no 4.2 rom for the bionic has HDMI working. Not even the dock works for me. And I'm on the latest AOKP by dhacker

What about 4.1.2? I'm just looking for something with a stock look, that maintains functionality. I was thinking about taking Blurry 2.4 and replacing some system apk's with those of CyanogenMod's or the SystemUI.apk, or something. I'm not sure which route to take, I'm just not a fan of Blur, honestly.

FlyingJelly from team lite speed has a working webtop. Everything else seems stable, too.
I've heard that it's the best. Can you link me to it?
Nevermind, Found it. Does it have Themechooser, though? That's what I'm looking for.
I think when I get home I'll begin to take apart the framework-res and system apps and replace the icons with those of Cyanogenmod's. It's probably going to be a lengthy progress, so could somebody test it if I finish by to morrow? My bionic won't arrive until Tuesday.

If anyone wants to test a version of FlyingJelly with modded framework, systemui, and the like, i'll post a link soon. Id like someone to test it for me, since my bionic is in the mail still.

I'm pretty sure there is no CM build with Webtop working. You pretty much have to go back to ICS for that.
HDMI, maybe.
And I'm pretty sure HashofCodes never merged the portion of the code that deal with the hard docks like NavDock either.
Thinking now, I really don't care if Webtop works, but I want a rom that has HDMI working. Dock modes, etc. would be great too. I'd go to CM10 in a heartbeat, but I need HDMI. My ROM build won't upload, so I'm not worried about it, I'll just wait until HDMI is fixed.
