Ok guys, I've been trying with not much/any success to hack the webtop to allow it to run on any hdmi like the atrix was hacked,
Attached is the atrix three files, deodex files, and recompiled apks that were altered, and the three deodex and recompiled bionic apks that are stock. If anyone can find the way the atrix was modded and do the same to bionic apks that would be awesome!

Ive gone through this more than 50 times, the problem is I am a novice and simple trying to go through the atrix and compare with bionic, I do not know exactly what I am looking for... I've tried like I said 50+ variations with out any luck... Anyone feel free to look for your self, use note++ to read/edit. I can recomp and sign and il test then if u rather not run altered system apps in fear of softbricking your bionic

Sorry for the post in general but apparently since I haven't posted ten times I cannot post in dev forums.
I am having issues with exchange sync with OTA installed, rooted, r3blurr3d 2.0, 3xp3ri3nc3.
Standard exchange is working, but I have an account that you need to always disable certificate verification on, this account just states that it cannot connect to the server. I have rebooted, verified the exchange was working properly (I am a network engineer and it is my server).
I am a bit hesitant to play with my phone much because of the OTA being installed and I don't need to brick it lol.
DT, did you make any changes from 1.8 to 2.0 in the exchange functions? or possibly certificates?
Thanks for the awesome ROM DT, been using it since 1.0
I also changed between wifi and verizon data. So it's not a connection issue.
This goes in general anyway, so you're fine.
My company has pretty strict security for their exchange, and I get it to work by hitting menu and doing manual setup.
Give that a shot.

Yeah, mine needs to be set manually as well. I just played with it a little more and still having same results. What's odd is that it says that it cannot connect... server is up and working fine. I even restarted services just to make sure.

Installed touchdown until it gets resolved. Touchdown is working fine. The interesting thing here is that the secured exchange is working fine but not the one that required no certificate auth.

Change your camcorder resolution from 1080p and see if that fixes it.

Not sure of the relationship between the two, but didn't work I can at least manage until it gets fixed with touchdown.

I'm not sure either, but I've read enough threads where people say it breaks it.

Having just about the same issue here. Flashed back to 1.8.
install this older version of corp email... I am currently running this one with no issues. Also make sure you aren't running any ad blockers... they seem to break exchange
RZ_Froyo_Email_bypassPolicy.apk
Thanks for the apk. Are you running the ota update and 2.0? Or just 2.0? Trying to pad out if its th3ory issue or ota issue.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
None of the above. I'm still on 1.8 waiting on 2.1 but may flash 2.0 bc I can't wait anymore

I have been running that APK for ages. I'm on 2.0 without the .893 OTA. Works perfectly I don't know if there are issues with the APK and the .893 OTA, but I can't see why there would be issues since the fixes shouldn't affect this lone apk.
Mine worked fine with 1.8 I am wondering if its just a random bug and flashing again may fix it. Hmmm. I am a little scared to troubleshoot much with no recovery. I will probably wait for a recovery option or 2.1

Android Wifi Tether has a new build out, that now supports Motorola Droid Bionic & RAZR. We need confirmation that it works on Droid 3/Milestone 3...
http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/files/wifi_tether_v3_1-pre104.apk
For Droid 3: Everything should be automatic and "just work". If not, let me know.
For Milestone 3: You should be able to get things working by selecting the Droid 3 profile in the settings screen. I would like to get everything working automatically for all the different Milestone 3 variants, so what I would need to do that is:
Model Name: example, Motorola Droid RAZR (you guys are like xt860, etc...)
ro.product.device from build.prop: example, cdma_spyder
Thanks
I used it, it allows tethering, but it pulls up the verizon screen to pay for the service.
Droid 3
Verizon
5.7.894 leaked update.

Do you have the RadioComm edit? Looks like VZW did you Droid3 guys like Droid X with the GB update. It should properly work with the RadioComm edit, or a source built ROM like CM7, just like Droid X... It gives you a far more configurable interface than the built in tethering app. Thanks for testing!
Any non-VZW folks out there wanna give this a try?
Just tested on my Droid 3 tethered it to my tablet and it works great. Running .890 cm7 10/16 build.

I'll try this here soon. I'm getting the VZW screen even after the radio hack, so I might as well try this app. I'm also on the 5.7.894 leak and I wonder if the new kernel and baseband have anything to do with this screen appearing?
EDIT:
No luck here on rooted and debloated 5.7.894.

;( Unfortunately the app isn't meant to defeat measure like this which Moto/VZW has baked into their firmware. I'm amazed no one has turned the radio hack into an update.zip like the original TBH hack, and everyone is doing it manually...

You have to redo the radiocomm edit after applying the leaked update because is flashes the new radio.

But I'm unable to. I get an error each time I attempt to read the 128 char. strings from the radio.
Worked great for me.
I'm running a Liberty ROM
Build 5.5.1_84_D3G-55
I'm using Telstra in Australia
Let me know if any more information is helpful.
Will be sending you a few dollars for that app. Well done and THANKS!
Barnacle Wifi Tether works fine for me.
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.szym.barnacle&hl=en
That's weird, I tried that one too and it didn't work for me.
My problem was a routing or NAT issue. I tried many apps but all had the same issue. I could see my phones WAN IP and ping that but could get past there. I couldn't ping the phones gateway etc.
Works on CM7
Verizon Droid 3 on 5.6.890
Radio Hack is enabled
When running the 11/16 CM7 build (Bootstrap version)
Works fine.
Worked fine for me

I haven't tested that it works or not but for my ME863 (Milestone 3 Hong Kong version) ro.product.device is umts_solana.
One question I have is, how do I remove its binaries? I noticed after I ran it that my device already includes a "Mobile hotspot" binary, which actually popped up when I turned on WiFi Tether, so I'm hoping they don't interfere with each other...
I see a "reinstall" button but no "uninstall" button. I assume it wouldn't have overwritten anything that was already installed, right?

Great I'll hopefully get that device info in for the next build, if not, should still be soon... for now the Droid 3, targa or razr profile should work for you.
Don't quote me 100% on this, as I am not the lead developer, just the guy focused on bringing Infrastructure mode to as many devices as possible... But, I believe both android wifi tether and the stock hotspot use the same prop entry to let the system know that tethering is on. So, when AWT fires up, the built in hotspot thinks you've turned it on. Tethering should still work properly.
I'm still new to the project, so hopefully I'll be able to help refine things... Hostapd support is somewhat new to android-wifi-tether... Harald and I first getting it functioning on DroidX around new years. I had to step back from nerding out on android for a bit. I'm back now, though... And ready to make a huge impact... When version 3 hits the market, it will be monumental!
Latest build... Sorry, should have put this link here in the first place.

Good to see you got your issues sorted out!
Be well..
Works great for me using Radiocomm edit on Liberty ROM.
Allows me to tether my Kindle Fire to it.
i realize i've posted a few q's lately but already figured out the a's to all of those before you guys even replied(is it really that slow here?)
heh.. anyway, i figure i'll try another & see if things turn out differently this time.
so far, i've rooted, updated to latest .901 radio & tried out both the liberty & eclispe (901 friendly) roms. on both i was not able to pdanet to work(or the clockworkmod tether)... which was unusual, as before i switched to a custom rom pdanet worked just fine.
anyway, i'm currently reverting back to the stock rom & going to try again that way and see if something got fux0red.
but curious though, does pdanet actually work on these custom roms?
[EDIT]: well not sure what was going on with the roms, but reverting back to the stock rom(w/ 901 radio) has pdanet working again.
I'm rom'd with Eclipse 2.0 on the .893 radio and its working fine for me. Are you trying to Bluetooth tether or wifi?
Sent from my SCH-I800 using xda premium
neither. usb
What app are you using?
Pdanet or easytether?
Have you tried an app called wifi tether for root users or something like that
I'll post link later
Here's the link to new updates
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
I've been using this on stock rooted 886-901, eclipse 2.0 & 2.1 rc beta, kintex 1.0 & 901 patch
All works great
I'm still using the pre113 and it still working great
Give it a try
For those asking what tethering app he is using, you really should take the time to read his post as it states what tethering app he is using. He says he's using PDANET. No reason to ask a question that he already answered in the original post.
I highly recommend using Easy Tether. I paid my $10 for their app and Verizon better not dare block me from using it. Their tethering fees are crazy for how much I use it and I bought easy tether before Verizon even brought tethering out.
Now if someone could make an FM modulator app that would allow us to.stream audio to our car stereos (not all of us have Bluetooth in our cars)

What ICS roms are the best in your opinion.
Also do any of them work with the Lapdock?
Thanks
AXI0M -
No ICS ROMS have webtop yet
Any of the XDA brainiacs able to explain to a non-brainiac whether this is a matter of not having gotten around to it or if it's a puzzle that the ICS ROM community hasn't solved yet?
Also curious about the RAZR version of the lapdock app that allows use of the webcam and other functionality that the native Bionic app lacks. Is that portable to the Bionic?
Webtop and bionic - hack it!

I too am wondering this. Or, is it possible to hack the webtop application on the Bionic to add the missing features available on the RAZR? Anyone care to take a stab at that?
Thanks!
No ICS kernel = no HDMI = no lapdock/webtop, at least that's what I figure.
