hi guys
halfway through running the hard spl program and it closed down, i just need some advice.
So i got to the unplug and replug your device section where the tri colour and it says usb on my kaiser and the CMD promp window closed.
What can i do, can i just turn off my phone? or is this a big no no. HELP me please
how do i get out of this situation????
Thanks
First off, BREATH, and relax. I think it will be ok. Someone with more leet knowledge (ahem P1Tater or someone like that) may be along to help you in a few minutes. I doubt your phone is toast and it seems like you might have a virus scanner or something that closed that program down. Have you tried to open it again to continue the flashing?
Just chill and I'm sure someone can square you away. Maybe even search through the roms section. I will look there as well.
Thanks for the quick reply, i can untie the noose from around my neck now.
if i open Hard SPL again it just goes to the begining and it doesnt go anywhere when i press enter cos my USB is still unplugged (as i dont want to plug it back in just yet incase anything happens)
I gotcha, I know I would be freaking out right now so I don't blame you. Normally I would say that the answer is out there and to search for it, but I feel like this sort of thing requires a bit of hand holding. I have seen a phone come back from worse and read some threads were these guys rez the phones from a grave. You should be cool
wow, no help yet?
Hello guys, i really need your help!
My phone is so strange now, i have been using Ultimate-X.V9 -21054, but in last days, my phone has gone to white screen some times when i press to screen up sometimes everything is fine, but others not and my phone sometimes dont respond to my touch, and sometimes is a bit slow
Now i have flashed to RUU_Kaiser_HTC_PTG_3.28.410.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.17.56_Ship, during the upgrade my phone stay on tree colors, but on computer appeared the status bar! and everythime i turn on my phone now is like 90% is allways white :O i have open my phone, and reconected all again, but the problem still there! im using 3.34 hard spl!
Please someone help meee... i really love my tytn2 is there any way to put this fine? its hard spl problem?
Please help me
Please help meee My phone now is more slow than normal :/
That happened to me a while back, I took it apart several times and checked connections etc. but that did not fix it. I ended up buying a new LCD off of ebay which fixed it perfectly. So, I would suggest doing that (I bought one for 15USD used).
But this to me seems to be a problem on the main board, because the phone sometimes gets really slows And sometimes that white problem appears and others not, like 90% when i need to use my phone
Flash Stock ROM?
Did you flash if back to a OEM ROM? Did it work OK if you left it on the OEM ROM? I have used "Kaiser_HTC_ASIA_HK_WWE_3.34.721.2" as a OEM to upgrade from on many phones that I had upgrade issues with.
i think RUU_Kaiser_HTC_PTG_3.28.410.0_radio_sign_25.83.40. 02_1.65.17.56_Ship is an OEM rom isnt? :x

noticed when searching all your post that you went straight to starting a new thread for this instead of asking in on of the flashing threads. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533976
Dude, and in what that link will help in my problem? if search on it, you will find the solution to my problem? the answer is NO, maybe you should read a bit better!

dude the answer is yes go ask in the flashing for newbs thread, or one of the other great links in the thread i posted. maybe you should read better the rules about starting new threads because you are having a flash related problem that needs to be asked in a thread already setup to deal with flash related matters instead of starting a new thread.
have you tried pushing the hard buttons to get into bootloader? do you think MTTY may help your current problem?

Well, if is about the screen, i can say im safe :x
But one thing on my mind, the white screen i could say to change the screen to one new, but the problem is the kaiser stay a bit slow, and sometimes it dont respond to what i want!
With that stay thinking that the problem is about the mainboard or something like that :s but i hope the problem is the screen, i will buy a new on ebay
The ribbon cable for the digitizer (touch screen) attaches to the LCD, and then both signals feed through the same cable into the D-pad board, so its possible that there is a bad connection somewhere in the LCD/Digitizer assembly that causes it to not sense your inputs, even when the LCD itself is working. Mine just failed completely to a white screen and did not come back. It could be something besides the LCD..try flashing a new HardSPL and/or a different ROM, but if I had to bet, I would bet on the LCD.

Thankyou made me chuckle
P4k1t0, I know you're frustrated that you phone doesnt work, but do not get uppity at the other forum posters. If you sound off against msd24200 and a mod sees it, its likely to lock your topic.
i had the same situation two weeks back after i flash with my own cooked rom.
what i did is flash the stock rom through SD/storage card and everything is fine.
you already try this method ? you can search on how to flash from SD/storage card
to flash by sd card? ok ok i will try it right now to see
When I disconnected my captivate from my computer, and go to turn on my phone, the only thing that pops up is this picture, and that even happens when I pulled out the battery. Do you have any idea what is wrong with it and how I can fix it? It's hard to see but the screen has a little phone connected to a computer with an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle (error sign).
That is a soft brick. I hope u have dl mode. And if u dont know what that is search for odin one click downloadmode or something
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

Ur join date and posts count makes me think u bought Captivate recently. So, please pull out battery, and let us know the build date of ur phone. It is generally of the form MM.YY or MM.YYYY. E.g., 10.09, 10.12, etc.
Thanks
I know what download mode is, and now that i know i need to get it back into download mode, i searched up methods of how to do it and found a good solderless jig at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841512&highlight=iGo
and a harder but cheaper method at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889128
which I am going to try.
So thank you for the tip.

Thank you, and yes, this question should be made as sticky to save the users some headache. They could make/order the JIG first n then start experimenting.
Can't recall if its 10.08 or 10.09 the last build for Odin 1 Click to work.
diablo009
yeah. Unfortunately my phone was sent in to samsung without my knowledge, so i cant tell you the build date, but if you still want to know to make a list or something, i can tell you when i get it back.
By the way:
I have had my phone for around 3-4 months, but have only recently taken an interest in customizing it, so i don't really have experience with hacking, and very complicated software, but am trying to learn, which is why I made an xda account.
so were you still on stock rom? you sent it in for waranty?
and it sounds like for download mode you are going straight to a jig. did you try the normal way first?
shut it off unpluged, hold VOL + & -, then Plug in, 1sec release vol (no power button)
I believe build dates 1010 or newer...Jh7 firmware are one click bricks......1007 has three button download guaruntee 1008/09 are hit and miss and sometimes require a jig.....the build date/number is under the battery or try powering of remove battery hold the 3 button , place battery in and release the power while holding the volume ...works for me ..good luck!
Edit: Look into Odin3...for 1010-1012builds.. please read the forums first!...may find u a solution there. But please refrence ur Build number for the proper procedures.

Basically, I tried to use a custom rom(darky's) and it kept giving me the main boot up logo (not the animated one) and it just kept looping. So thinking that all i had to do was justfix the bootloader, i loaded the stock .pit up on odin 1.3 and now my phone won't turn on nor connect to my computer. I expect the worst though I may want some glitter to this...
And yes, I used the search.
oh and would this jig work?
mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce. com/ samsung-galaxy-s-download-mode-jig/
Hey, Im no expert at this, but from what you posted, you have only used a pit file with Odin, if thats the case and you did not use any other file aswell ie "PDA". I did that once and semi bricked. The jig is worth a shot i guess, i have one now, keep it handy lol. Have a look on youtube vids of bricked sgs i9000, theres different kinds of bricking. Search "how to fix bricked i9000" or something like that, and have a look and see if the jig fixes a blank screen, my guess is it will, but as I stated "Im no expert". Hope I helped in some way.
Friend, try the jig and if all fails, give this a thought
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246050
And also see what pete has to say. he is correct
Alright, Bought the jig. Waiting for it. Thanks alot guys, gave me the glitter I was looking for ^_^
No probs, good luck man
Two nights ago I was watching a video through the YouTube app when suddenly the screen froze up. When it stayed unresponsive for 5 minutes or so, I shut it off by holding the power button down, which seemed to have worked as intended. After that it's become absolutely unresponsive. It will not boot up or turn on whatsoever, nor will the LED light up when plugged into a wall to charge.
The phone was running CM7 and had CWM as recovery, but I'm absolutely stumped as to why it fails to boot up. Has my phone decided to spontaneously brick itself? Is it potentially a hardware fault? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be taking it to a repair center tomorrow, since I've really no choice as of right now.
Yea not really much else you can do besides taking it in for repairs. Maybe remove battery for an hour, although from the sounds of it, it won't do anything.

Doesn't seem to work. However an interesting observation, when plugged into the PC, it's detected as QHSUSB_DLOAD. Is it possible my phone's entered some sort of low-level mode? And if that's the case, is there any way to reverse this? I say I held the power button down and it shut off but I may have hit the volume keys in my panic.
So yes, I remain hopeful there's some miracle that will let me get out of this mess.

This interests me too, I'll be researching all the info I can find, although the first search on qhsusb_dload has come up with a lot of questions and no answers as yet.
Many threads have blamed partitioning the sdcard in cwm recovery as the cause of this.
Did you manage to get any drivers for this qhsusb_dload mode?
Edit: these might be useful. http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/qualcomm/models/qpst/12051.html http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14909282&postcount=19
Progress.

Yeah, I've tried out the QPST software and drivers and believe it or not, an answer to my fears. My phone has entered Download Mode with seemingly no way to exit it. I can't find any posts about this in regards to the Incredible S. I guess nobody's been careless or unlucky enough to get it to this state. See the attached picture. Also I can't help but note all the question about ENTERING download mode as opposed to EXITING download mode. Is it so simple that my brain simply can't comprehend the answer?
unfortunately, its not a simple answer. Probably the best thread concerning this issue is in the sensation forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468791

A dead-end unfortunately. It seems more like a preventative measure than anything. I can't enter diag mode on account of phone being stuck in download mode. I'd like to believe it's hardware related. Anyway, I believe it's time I called the repair centre. I appreciate the help you've given me.
EDIT: Seems like Fonebiz refuses to repair my phone, warranty or no, as it's an overseas model, (even though it's physically the exact same phone, down to the model S710e) short of sending it overseas. Unbelievable. I think I'll go cry in a corner now.
EDIT2: Gave it to a local shop to send for repair. I'll let them figure it out. If anybody has any information on proper use of the Qualcomm Software Download tool, by all means link to me.
