How To downgrade LG BLACK 2.3.4 to 2.2
What exactly is your rom now? Is is custom, or stock?
Factory reset either via settings, or cwm is the first step, then either restore a backup of froyo, you have got, or flash a v10x version via smartflash (also perform a factory reset before)

why downgrade?
this method is simple and works great..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
after this you will have v10 (froyo).. you can also do a factory upgrade after this step to get original lg upgrade to GB.

i know CWM.. but for this phone any backup from that app is useless... you can't restore from it.
Why can't you restore from it?
everytime i try to restore. i just end up with the LG Logo, making me just install another CR (which works) but the backup i made with that same custom ROM and my modification/apps are useless.
This happens to me, too. I've tried with many different backups, but same result every time.

I've already restored once without problems, gonna restore once more tomorrow (now i'm doing some experiment with official rom), so i will report (i have CWM 3.2 now).
What CWM version are you using?
I'm using the CWM 3.0.2.8
Have only tried restore of stock backups, so only way to get back to stock rom for me is with the smartflash tool.

Hi,
I have the problem that stuck at the LG logo after restore backup and reboot from clockworkmod 3.0.2.8. Could you please tell me on how to do with smartflash tool. What is smartflash tool? really need help here. Thanks.
Argh... never got CWM to work. Better do use NVflash.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007825
yeah so it seems CWM can't really restore backups, be it stock ROM or Custom ROMS. utterly useless rom a restore point of view.. but i think it is something to do with the way it back ups our current ROMs

Use the guide in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
It will totally wipe your phone, though. Backup all important files, or place them on your external SD-card.
Edit: You'll need the original ROM file from this thread, too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
After the CWM restore just reapply the rom.zip. It should boot again, with all settings restored.
Did a restore that way today myself, after upgrading my baseband from 0405 to 0502.
Hi everybody.
I have an optimus black with Nova V5 and it work very fine, and I´m root.
Well I want unlock my mobile by imei , I have unlock code, but the problem is, the instruction to unlock says "you can´t be root"
I have Nova v5 , can I flash from sd with Nova 3 (I think Nova3 use v10b, but i ´m not sure) and use gingerbreak 1.2 ?
When I am not root , Can I use the recovery?
I need unroot mobile what is the best solution for it?
Thanks and Regards
Emergency recovery your stock firmware with LG Mobile Support tool, factory reset, and then unlock with your code.
Then you can flash whatever Rom (custom or stock) you want.
PS. Before anything, in order to keep your data, you can do a cwm backup, Emergency recovery your stock firmware with LG Mobile Support tool, do a Factory reset, flash V10A with KDZ updater, do a Factory reset, unlock with your code, root with Gingerbreak, install CWM and restore your backup with CWM. Voila! You'r done!
It may work even if you flash a stock firmware with KDZ updater, but you have to pay attention that Nova uses ext4 filesystem and stock uses ext3, and mixing those leads to trouble!
Hello everybody! I flashed on my LGP880 the rom eternity(cm10.1) and now i want to come back to stock rom. for me was v10f. but i don't know how because i haven't any PC now and i can't flash the file .kdz
Today i tried to make reset from original recovery but nothing changed and at reboot was again CMboot(eternity rom).
So, i want to ask: there is a way to make fullreset for come back in stock rom ( v10f without root and recovery)?

If you had taken the stock backup before installing custom rom, you can install the recovery apk form this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123602&page=10 , install it as normal apk, reboot into recovery and restore with your backup.
It worked for me perfectly

There s a way to make Super Reset on 4X HD, but after a super reset guss what comes...
An ULTRA Reset which is basically vol- and Powering 0n the device.
After an ULTRA Reset if you are not satisfied with the results, you can try making an ULTIMATE RESET, by downloading v10h firmware and flashing it with tool called KDZ.
You can find many tutorials about this on the General section on this forum.
You previous system doesnt exist anymore.
Only way to get back to any stock LG Rom is sadly the pc-kdz way

I'm experiencing some problems and would like to go back to the stock rom. Currently on 10.1 Nightlies
Would I have to use this tool? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723
I can keep the custom recovery right?
I have no idea how to do this though. All I have is the original EUR 20A kdz file.
Thanks.
No CWM backup?

No CWM backup before CM install? You can just restore or otherwise you have to use that tool. You can install CWM again after kdz flash. It wouldn't be a problem.
Remember you have to remove and reinsert battery or otherwise you may not be able to get into S/W mode and you also get BSOD on pc.
I also had probs on CM 10.1 RC2.
Just wipe it, then start from scratch.
Hi,
I would just reflash by doing a full wipe, restore a full backup of lg stock, then doing a factory reset and wipe to have a clean rom. But be careful not to wipe any backups you have its always best to keep them on external storage.
There is always the option of using the LG tool to factory reset the phone (enter sw upgrade mode then plug it into the computer.. follow the instructions in one of the mean threads on the subject.. liek http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723). The only real problem is data loss. Use a app to backup sms first. i like to use this one - and backup to external storage.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&feature=search_result
I would just use the LG tool to reset the phone, after doing a wipe.
Cant wait for the next android verson that could come with cloud backups

If you want to go back to stock OS with a clean install, the best is LGFlash Tool.
Remember that will wipe everything in the internal memory.
Next time (if you like to try other OS and change between them often) backup your
OS with CWM.
Hi guys,
I had have a few months CM11 on my LGP880 and that worked fine. :good:
After the last update of CM11, my LGP880 came in a bootloop that I could not get out.
On the XDA forum i found some solutions to get out of the bootloop and one worked well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35971349#post35971349 (was not working for me, stays in bootloop)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38838927&postcount=7 (This works well for me):good:
With the "LGFlash Tool 2014" i flashed stock rom, ICS V10A, on my LGP880 and after that V10b en later V10d.
My LGP880 worked fine and without problems.
After a few days I wanted to upgrade to JB.
I flashed the stock rom, JB V20a, with the same "LGFlash Tool 2014", on my LGP880 and installation went smoothly but I came back in a bootloop at startup. :crying:
(starts up several times and then a dead screen and sometimes completely off)
From the stock recovery several times i did wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache etc. , but my LGP880 remained in a bootloop.
Again, with the "LGFlash Tool 2014" back to ICS V10a and the bootloop was gone and my LGP880 worked well again.:fingers-crossed:
Now I have the original "LG Mobile Support Tool" installed and I performed an update to ICS V10b on my LGP880 (with ICSa running well !!)
Update to ICS V10b, 10d, 10f and 10h went smoothly and my LGP880 worked well.
With the same "LG Mobile Support Tool" later on upgraded to JB V20a and my LGP880 comes back in a boot loop ?? :crying:
ICS is not a problem but after updating to JB I'm in a boot loop.
Because I want to go get back to CM10 I first need to get a upgrade to JB that is stable.
Is there a solution?
@jksr have you tried doing a factory reset in stock recovery. This question is already answered many times and it's stated at the end of that flashing tutorial if you get a bootlop perform a factory reset in stock recovery.
Good luck.

Hello sPEADy,
Thanks for your comment,
Yes, I did factory reset and etc. several times.
See my post: From the stock recovery several times i did wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache etc. , but my LGP880 remained in a bootloop.
I know that this problem is often discussed, there is plenty to read about.
Coming out of the bootloop is not a problem:
Coming out from the boot loop went well when I go back to ICS Stock Rom.
Then again my LGP880 is in original factory settings (ICS V10a, Unrooted and with the original recovery that is locked).
My LGP880 works fine then.
The problem is that the bootloop comes back immediately after upgrading to JB. ??
I do an upgrade to JB with the original (latest software and drivers) "LG Mobile Support Tool" from the LG site.
This problem (in a bootloop after upgrading to JB) I have not seen before on the Internet?
(Go back to ICS solves the bootloop and my LGP880 works well again.)
I need JB to unlock the bootloader again and then go back to CM10.
(Unlock bootloader in LGP880 is not possible in ICS, after the upgrade to JB is the bootloader standard unlocked)
Thanks again and i hope that somebody knows a solution
i know solution ... in flashtool have 2 choice first flash rom second upgrade recovery ...you choose the second and all fix
