Hi everyone,
I have v7.1.0 running in my S5570.
Yesterday I backuped up it and tried:
update-cm-7.2.0-RC5.6-GalaxyMini-Release-signed.zip + update-first-cm-7.2.0-RC5.6-GalaxyMini.zip from here
I also installed gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip and added my google account as yagyagaire's blog says.
I wiped data and cache partition before&after applying each update (yes, noob )
Everything seemed to be ok so far, however:
-Activating the "data mode" (both "data active" and "itinering data" checkboxes active and wifi disabled) didn't show the data connection icon as usually, and I couldn't navigate, retrieve mails, etc
- Google play gave me a "connection error" each time I opened it (having Wifi connected).
If anyone has any idea, I will give it another try. But I ended up restoring my "stable" 7.1.0
I don't think ics gapps will work well on CM7...
You should use gapps for gingerbread instead.
Use gb gapps as lonestrider said...

Ouch!
Ok. This could explain the second problem, but the data connection problem...?
(I couldn't connect before installing gapps either)

With v7.1.0 it was automatic for me. But you were right, setting it manually seems to work for me.
Thanks.

Same problem in cyanmobile. I found way around it by creating one more apn that is a copy of the first and then I did some small changes like authentication type and apn type to default, internet and Chandler the name then I set Apn as the modded apn sometimes the connection starts if it doesn't I just switch back to original and voila the connection flashes for a sec and is back.

As I said just follow my method or do a factory reset after booting the phone. Then manually configure your apn that is a big I have faced in all cm roms. Try it both worked for me.

After installtion of ROM (without installing other APPS for ROM) mobile network was working fine and I was able to make/receive calls. I used it for couple of hrs, the only thing I noticed that I was not able to turn the WIFI on I thought this could be because of other apps so I installed other apps. Immediately after installing other apps network is gone even if I try to search network manually it says "Error while serching network" and still I can not turn my WIFI on. Any one else having same problem?
I reinstalled ROM to check this and again same problem. No network & No WIFI.
About wifi, it's said in the first post that it only works with static ip, although there's a fix for that, so i used it and my wifi is excellent now.
About the network, i really can't help you but mine is fine...Have you tried to wipe data before installing the rom again?
This ROM need nAa11 kernel to work ot of the box! Why you need alf's kernel?

Yes I know.... but in developer's thread I found many people are using alfs without any problem so used this one. Just now I tried flashing nAa11 trough 1st post but unfortunately flash tool is not showing this file in available kernel list??????
problem solved with nAa 11 and reinstallation without wipe

Try re-flash your rom, backup your data and then do FULL wipe (+ Dalvik cache) and reflash your rom + since you have CM7 flash gapps. and it should work
i am using the original 7.2 rc1 from official web site.
i flashed it again and again. i make all wipes and formatted system data and cache manually.
but still it cant connect.
the official cm7 contains gapps? i think it dont.

Have you checked your mac address? It might be invalid. If this is the case try this: write in this file /data/misc/wifi/config this line "cur_etheraddr=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" with your mac address.you can find your mac address in the settings/about phone/status. If it is 00:00:00:00:00:00 i guess you should flash another rom to find out the mac address and then roll back to cm7. and it doesn't contain gapps. Hope you ll be able to connect.

I am writing this on my phone. It works. Thnx. But there is one question in my mind. Is there any way to apply this to flashable zip?

the problem is that in RC1 you must set the wifi to never turn off in:
Settings>wireless settings>wifi settings>Advanced wifi settings>wifi suspention policy> and select never turn off wifi.
that is an old bug on the wifi driver, when is setted to turn off when screen is off it wont load the module again after some idle time.
hope this fixs your problem.
thnx for reply.
actually i am using wifi with this "no sleep mode" setting.
my problem is after flashing official rc1 zip file, system writes my mac adress "00:00:00..."
now i am searching how can i fix this in zip file before flashing.
why it writes my mac adress 00:00:00...
do you know?
and why only me saw this error...
sorry for bad english

I wish i could be more helpful but i don't know why that happens. Actually there are some other guys with this problem especially with miui v2.1a. maybe a dev can answer why there is this problem with some people. Check this too. It might help you find the valid mac address. Go to /system/etc/wifi/nvram.txt. there is a line "macddr" in the middle of the text. Try to copy this mac. But if it doesn't work too i think you have to flash another rom in order to see if the problem exists there too. Try a stock based rom and find your mac through there and then revert back to cm7. Do a nandroid of cm7 so you don't lose anything.

i tried a lot of roms wifi files and settings. but no success
i copied miui, stock, lezo roms wifi system files.
i think everything will go bad and system wont start. but nothing changed.
system started and wifi worked but cannot connected to wireless networks.
so, i have already started a topic on official cm forum.
i hope they will see this issue and fix it on next version or update.
thnx again.

Ladies and gents;
So i changed my rom a few days ago for the CM7.2 thanks to a guide on here, and it really impressed me in terms of performance and the whole package.
Problem is, i can't seem to connect to 3g, and cant seem to create any apn's either, device just doesnt do anything when i click on create new apn!
I have made sure that the baseband is on the right selection and so are my network settings...
I have a motorola milestone that used to be locked to TELUS and is now unlocked and using FIDO

Its possible that you might have just had a bad installation. Id recommend you backup your data and apps, go into recovery preform a factory reset, wipe all data and cache, and re-install the CM 7.2 ROM. I have had similar problems to what your having in the past when installing new versions of CM and most of the time re-installing the ROM did the trick.

A simple battery pull may work.

I had the same problem with both 3G and 2G as well. I had to manually add APN in Settings>Wireless and Network>Mobile Network>Access point names
It works fine now, even when switching from 2G to 3G while connection is active. CM7 7.2.2
Hi,
I've updated my I9000 to Cm 10.1 last night, and now i am having a problem with calls. When I try to place a call it doesn't work, and a "call ended" message appears immediately. I cannot receive call either. The strange thing is that SMS and mobile data (2g and 3g) work without problems. I flashed a new modem, but the problem persist. :crying:
What can i do?
Thank you in advance.
Are you using a stable-version or a nightly-version of CM...have you tested it with a newer Version of CM?
On my Stable CM10.1 it works without any problems ...
Does a reboot of the telephone or a reboot of the telephone-app helps???

Hmhh that`s bad...
Before flashing to CM10.1 do you have make a wipe cache, wipe data and so on in the CWM-Recovery??? If not maybe this can be the Problem...
When you wipe data you settings and so on will be lost ...

Yes I did it. Thank you for your time!
fixed!
it seems people online are having the issue "call ended" '. I fixed it by telling it to only use 2G networks in connection settings. Obviously this workaround is not ideal if you want to use internet
BUT what is weird is that this issue started happening the moment i landed in houston, never once did i have this issue in LA.
not sure if its their towers or not. its not a ROM issue thats for sure.
