Try re-flash your rom, backup your data and then do FULL wipe (+ Dalvik cache) and reflash your rom + since you have CM7 flash gapps. and it should work
i am using the original 7.2 rc1 from official web site.
i flashed it again and again. i make all wipes and formatted system data and cache manually.
but still it cant connect.
the official cm7 contains gapps? i think it dont.

Have you checked your mac address? It might be invalid. If this is the case try this: write in this file /data/misc/wifi/config this line "cur_etheraddr=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" with your mac address.you can find your mac address in the settings/about phone/status. If it is 00:00:00:00:00:00 i guess you should flash another rom to find out the mac address and then roll back to cm7. and it doesn't contain gapps. Hope you ll be able to connect.

the problem is that in RC1 you must set the wifi to never turn off in:
Settings>wireless settings>wifi settings>Advanced wifi settings>wifi suspention policy> and select never turn off wifi.
that is an old bug on the wifi driver, when is setted to turn off when screen is off it wont load the module again after some idle time.
hope this fixs your problem.
thnx for reply.
actually i am using wifi with this "no sleep mode" setting.
my problem is after flashing official rc1 zip file, system writes my mac adress "00:00:00..."
now i am searching how can i fix this in zip file before flashing.
why it writes my mac adress 00:00:00...
do you know?
and why only me saw this error...
sorry for bad english

I wish i could be more helpful but i don't know why that happens. Actually there are some other guys with this problem especially with miui v2.1a. maybe a dev can answer why there is this problem with some people. Check this too. It might help you find the valid mac address. Go to /system/etc/wifi/nvram.txt. there is a line "macddr" in the middle of the text. Try to copy this mac. But if it doesn't work too i think you have to flash another rom in order to see if the problem exists there too. Try a stock based rom and find your mac through there and then revert back to cm7. Do a nandroid of cm7 so you don't lose anything.

i tried a lot of roms wifi files and settings. but no success
i copied miui, stock, lezo roms wifi system files.
i think everything will go bad and system wont start. but nothing changed.
system started and wifi worked but cannot connected to wireless networks.
so, i have already started a topic on official cm forum.
i hope they will see this issue and fix it on next version or update.
thnx again.

Same problem in cyanmobile. I found way around it by creating one more apn that is a copy of the first and then I did some small changes like authentication type and apn type to default, internet and Chandler the name then I set Apn as the modded apn sometimes the connection starts if it doesn't I just switch back to original and voila the connection flashes for a sec and is back.

As I said just follow my method or do a factory reset after booting the phone. Then manually configure your apn that is a big I have faced in all cm roms. Try it both worked for me.

Hi everyone,
I have v7.1.0 running in my S5570.
Yesterday I backuped up it and tried:
update-cm-7.2.0-RC5.6-GalaxyMini-Release-signed.zip + update-first-cm-7.2.0-RC5.6-GalaxyMini.zip from here
I also installed gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip and added my google account as yagyagaire's blog says.
I wiped data and cache partition before&after applying each update (yes, noob )
Everything seemed to be ok so far, however:
-Activating the "data mode" (both "data active" and "itinering data" checkboxes active and wifi disabled) didn't show the data connection icon as usually, and I couldn't navigate, retrieve mails, etc
- Google play gave me a "connection error" each time I opened it (having Wifi connected).
If anyone has any idea, I will give it another try. But I ended up restoring my "stable" 7.1.0
I don't think ics gapps will work well on CM7...
You should use gapps for gingerbread instead.

I am on rooted stock LPY. I noticed that whenever I try to connect to wifi it says connecting then stuck at obtaining ip address and then disconnected. I have tried more than one router and I am getting the same results. I have googled this and one solution is to have a static ip address. The problem is that this setting is no longer available in ICS. Any idea how to fix this without wiping (I am too afraid to wipe given all the fuss about it).

Did you flash the LPY Rom with or without full wipe? That might be the cause.
You can flash a new modem and see if it's fixed. I can't think of anything else...
Experiment with frequency band under advanced wifi settings.

This is what made it work for me:
- remove network from device, disable wifi and turn off device
- turn off internet modem(if you have any) and router, wait at least 2 min.
- turn on modem and router
- turn on device, enable wifi and connect to network
Hope it works out for you

With wifi disabled, if you have root, go to /data/misc/dhcp/ and delete all 3 files there.
I had problems on LPY where wifi would connect but ip address wouldn't get assigned.
Deleting the 3 files in /data/misc/dhcp/ fixed it for me. No probs since
Re-flash with wifi off, make the sincronization with google on 3g and then turn on wi-fi connection

I gathered all my courage and flashed a pre rooted GBrom via pc Odin, no wipes, no cleaning, no nothing . once back on GB i only performed one hard reset and felt confident enough to flash CWM back on it. I would give you the link, but am on my phone right now and can't find it, but the rom is in Bodivas thread around here.
It worked out well for me, but as you probably know...no garantuees.

Hmm. Those 3/4 files should get recreated if DHCP is working properly on your phone.
Perhaps you phone is missing stuff in /system/etc/dhcpcd/?
Another thing just popped into my mind - did you restore your Wifi Access point details via Titanium Backup? I think that may have been an issue for me too on LPY... don't restore is best.
Or just downgrade to GB, full wipe and flash LPF
Do you have soundhound or dolphin browser hd installed?

I'm on LPY too. When I'm at office I have no issues with wifi connection but when I'm back home I start to have issues. It shows connected and I get no error or disconnected messages what so ever. But device looses wifi connection short time after connected. I check wifi connection on laptop and there is no problem but on my Note even though it shows connected I have no connection. Turning wifi off/on fixes it sometimes but most if the time it doesn't.

I just saw this post and thought I shoud help him even after two years passed.
Go to Settings >> Wireless and Networks >> Turn on WiFi
Long press on connected network >> Modify Network >> IP Settings>> Menu >> Static
Assign your IP address and leave other credentials as they are. Save settings and you are done.
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2367385 step by step but there's a link missing in the "Install custom ROM." referring to the attach Attachment 2123031 so i didn't download that and moved to the next step and so on. Basically now if i connect the phone to the computer it doesn't show any hard drive nor allows me to restore because it says md5 mismatch and keeps on loading menu saying HTC.
I turn it off and it turns on after a few secs allone going to the stuck loading.
What can i do to at least restore to factory defaults?
You don't need to install a custom ROM. You may have flashed a kernel that is incompatible with the ROM you are using. About the md5 mismatch there is an easy way of fixing it as I can recall. Just search up the error in Google and a lot of results will come up. Can't provide you with links because I am on a phone and info encourage googling and the anti-spoon-feeding policy.

All cm10 roms have wifi issue. All sense roms don't have wifi issue.

wifi keep alive and my connection manager to solve all wifi preoblems in 4.1.2
Ok my wifi is fixed now.
Basically what i did:
Download the app Wifi Connection Manager,
Go to you wifi settings do "forget" connection
Reboot
Enter in the app you've downloaded, select the network and save your credentials there
Done!
Now you can turn off or reboot as you which it doesn't lose any wifi settings!

data restore through Titanium backup if u have made one or go to recovery> restore>advanced restore>data..
but i wont recommend u for data restore personally because most of the bugs of previous rom too come sometimes..its better to restore the apps from titanium that u need only! :good:
Try doing a full system wipe. Sdcard everything. And then flash stock firmware via odin. If then also the wifi dont work then it must be a problem in the handset. If this happens then just go to samsung care. They will take care of your phone
