[Q] Problem Signal CyanogenMod 7.2 RC5.6 - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hi Guys,
I have tried the CyanogenMod 7.2 RC5.6 by Squad, but I've see, the signal of my Galaxy is always without signal, but the CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 by Meditek the signal is very good, because the cm7 by Squad the signal is usually without signal?? What is the problem, but I'm 14 years old and I'm not English but I'm Italian...

What I learned with time and since then I ALWAYS do: BEFORE every flash of new custom rom you do, FIRST flash the official Samsung stock rom from YOUR locale.
I do it EVERY SINGLE TIME I flash a new custom rom or an updated (from version, not update (i.e. RC5.6 to RC5.7)
And FYI: the version 7.2.0-RC5.7 was just released by squadzone, check it out!

Squadzones builds are a bit buggy but full of features..but mebeitek gives more preference to performance over style..so its just a matter of choice..

i think its because of stock rom base Band version.. try XXKPI or KPK

Since custom Roms don't touch the baseband it REALLY doesn't matter.
If you need a new baseband, just flash a new baseband, you can do that at any time and it won't touch anything but the baseband, it will leave everything else as it is.

Not really, you can use any baseband as they are intercompatible, just use the one that works best for you. (that would be the latest for your region)

[Q] 3g/4g on LG GT540 and which rom is the "best" to update to from 1.6?

Hi guys,
I have an LG GT540, which one is the best rom to update to? I want full functionality. If there are bonuses that would be great to. Someone at T-mobile (my carrier) told me that in order for me to get the 3g/4g network connection, I would have to upgrade my Android 1.6 to something higher (but I don't know which one)....Thanks!
well how about android 2.3.7 (SDSL)??
First: our phone doesn't have 4g (only 3g)
Second: the best rom right now is SDSL v3.
Remember that you must install first the Euro 2.1 rom (that version install fastboot and recovery in your phone) and then install SDSL v3

Here you have a tutorial to do that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224747
But don't use the recovery that is in this thread, is out dated.. use this instead (recovery 5.0.2.7):

Also you posted in the wrong Section of the forum.. But yeah Go for Mike's AOSP 2.3 or Swiftdroid Second Life

Hey.
I think you must do a re-stock
You know, Odin sets the non-MTD file system and you can get a brick if the OS is not ready,is not clean.
Sorry,I can't give you links now,but you can just google the needed information
First of all, backup all files you need to your PC, restock formats /sdcard too.
Then go to the website of The Team Overcome and find a restock there. and the latest overcome kernel. You will download an archive with a full 2.3 Android, some modems (choose the one you want) and Odin. Then just flash it via Odin. You will get a clean Tab,like it is really new. And then flash the kernel, you'll get root, cwm, ext4. And then you can flash other builds. I can recommend you the nightly builds by Cyanogen (our device is called p1 in their download center, just download the latest build and flash via recovery). Upgrading from one nightly to another you mustn't do wipes/restocks.
Don't forget to do wipes after flashing restock

[Q] How to from -Stock Froyo- to -CM7-

Hi guys, just bought an O2X yesterday and I want to be sure of the steps on how to take my Froyo to CM7 or any other GB for that matter, so here's what I think it should be done:
1.- Root the phone (seems Gingerbreak works on this phone with froyo?)
2.- Install CWM (Can install from ROM manager unless I wanna be able to flash from internal memory in which case I should install the modded vesion?)
3.-Change baseband?? (this is my biggest concern, I'm on 1035.21)
4.- Flash rom + gapps if needed
Please guys if you can confirm my thoughts on all the 4 steps it'd be much appreciated
_BONUS QUESTION_
Is the hdmi and camera working completely or is the stock froyo better on those aspects, as I don't see a thread for official CM7 I'm guessing I should just download from download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=p990 ?
Thanks again.

You are almost right there m friend.
There is an unofficial CM7 thread out there by Temasek and MisjudgedTwat....it is more than what you can ever see.For CM7 ROMs, choose Kernels by Temasek or by MisjudgedTwat or by Vadonka.
If you are looking at Stock based ROMs, then go for DjangoManouche1.3 beta16. Stock based ROMs + HP or Gueste Kernels.
for the Baseband, you have to come out with the full version number ...what you have mentioned is not complete.Try V20Q for the BB with V10 series RIL...Normally, CM7 comes with a RIL which is enough. Install GetRIL app from the play store and you can change RIL if it is not compatible. For the Stock based ROMs, you can flash the V20Q Base band + v20Q RIL(both are 725 stuff)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer. Now the baseband thing got me a little confused, if I go for official CM7 which will come with a RIL I'd have to install a matching baseband. Can I do that afterwards or do I have to change the baseband first?. I remember with my O1 I flashed a rom and got no service because I was on wrong bb, and flashing the bb fixed it. I just wanna be sure it's fixeable if I mess up
btw.

Look at this thread...it has all the BB related things. You can flash the BB which is V20Q which is the latest for O2X (your choice as it is the service provider, region, device and so on)and this is the best as you will see in the thread which has a poll. you can then flash the ROM with the three wipes...dalvik,user data and cache.Dont forget to backup your apps and data with Titanium Backup pro or any other app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658047
you can then use the GetRIL app to choose your RIL...which is normally with the ROM.Best way would be flash the BB and then flash the ROM(to save time). Flashing the BB will wipe the complete data. Take a backup through CWM before.even if ou have an issues with wifi, mobile data 3G, dont worry to choose the correct RIL and reboot.
if you have any issues, wipe the three wipes and reflash the ROM.normally, you wont have any issues....just do it...
I am only trying to help...dont blame me for bricking ur phone...follow instructions and we all have a great device...YOU WILL TOO

I know everything I do with my phone is my full responsibility so no worries there.

froyo to CM9 - how?

Hello guys,
I currently try to upgrade a froyo phone to the stable CM9 rom.
Whenever I am flashing the cm9 through CWM 2.5.1.2 (downloaded through rom manager) the phone shuts down while flashing and then it is stuck in a bootloop.
Here is what I am doeing:
useing Darkys v9.2 Resurrection edition. Then I am on:
-> Firmware 2.2.1
Baseband: I9000XXJPY
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #Voodoo_stable_5.4
Build: Darkys v9.2 Extreme Edition
then I am donwloading CWM 2.5.1.2 thrugh rom manager and in CWM I want to flash following zips:
Devil3_0.71_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120609
cm-9.0.0-galaxysmtd
gapps-ics-20120429-signed
the Kernel (Devil3) flashes finde.. when I am flashing cm9 then the phone restarts in the middle of the flashing process and hangs in a bootloop.
What am i doeing wrong?
You have to flash a Gingerbread rom with Gingerbread bootloaders first. Then flash CM9. When you flash CM9 from Gingerbread, the phone will restart once. Just flash CM9 again and you're good to go.
Why son't you flash CM10? It's newer and stable enough for daily use.

Thanks I will flash CM7 and after that CM9 then.
I personally use CM10 but this phone is the one from my aunt and I just want a stable rom for her because if something doesn t work (like maybe in the current CM10 alphas) then I have to look after the phone again.
Wait your on froyo you need to Odin darkyrom ressurection v10 or gingerbread one that flash cm no need for cwm darky comes with it

In my case I tried CM 7.2 and CM9.0 and after flashing (in both cases) my phone goes into a loop... finally I reinstalled Gingerbread.
I made both flash using the guidelines in CM Wiki.
I reccomend you to flash JVU with repartition. That will install your bootloaders and Cf-Rooting it, you will be able to flash both CM7 or CM9, via CWM
DarkyromResurrection is jvu based but comes with root already less hassle its how I did it

If you want stability you better flash some GB rom, not ICS. If your aunt doesn't care about speed (not that GB is that slow...) then GB is the best choice, in my opinion. More stability and better battery.
ICS is runs perfectly stable now if you select the right rom

Most Stable Custom Rom for ourOB

Hello,
I am totally new here on XDA. I recently rooted my OB and wants to install stable custom rom. I searched a lot but cant decide with which one I have to go. Please give me some advice.

In the world, Zeus 6.39 ROM is most stable ...even developers had agreed that...no doubt
Of course, Zeus v7 is also available, but 6.39n is best battery backup, stable, and fast ..
CM10 and Korean official are available now, but not stable.
All the best..

Thanks... downloading Zeus v6.39..
Please inform me if any stable ICS or JB release in the future.

Reboots 15 times / day without a reason.
I test the AOPK Jellybean tonight. Hope it's stable.
Tell me after you test it.

Yes I am happy with this Zeus Rom. I am currently using v6.39n. Very smooth, very fast and battery backup is awesome.I found no bug except Memory card preparing problem which I already told here.
I think it doesn't support Arabic by default. But there is an addon/extras file which you can flash via CWM to get Arabic language. Here is the link..
http://huexxxtuff.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/zeus-rom-links.html?m=1 ..
There are two zip files of this Rom.
V6.3n and 6.39n update
First You have to flash Zeus v6.3n and then Zeus 6.39n update file through the CWM. Before flash do a factory reset, wipe dalvik cache etc etc.....
Press Thanks if I help you.

zeus v6.4 i good rom and marvel v9 is also good GB rom. it will support your language, but if you type your language from right to left, it wont support the alignment. it will show everything correct on screen, but when you will type a message or a note, it will start from left side.
all the GB based roms that i tried and in the past month, i think i tried at least 6 roms in total. none of the GB based roms had RTL support. if the Right To Left alignment support really important to you, i suggest you try Zeus IZS or Marvel v11, the RTL is built in ICS so it works flawless.
good day
Slim Bean 4.1.2
I would say, all stock based roms are the most stable. cm10 based ones are about 85%, but this also depends on the used kernel. it's up to you to find the best combo for your usage
* From my funky phone
There is no such thing as the best, most stable ROM or kernel.
Everyone is looking for something different, so such discussions are pointless.
