Anyone have an idea how to fix this? I hear its in the build prop. I'm running Dark Droid and this doesn't seem like a rom issue. I've seen multiple phones with this problem but no apparent fix. Anyone have any ideas?
You could open it up and rotate the camera sensor :3

Hi guys, Im having some issues with the camera, here r the screenshots and here is the shot i took with the camera.
u can see the broken pixels, anyone else fimiliar with the problem?
You're not alone, just tried and noticed the same thing.
ok
good to know, thx for the answer.
Use LG camera downloading it from the market. Even if flash does not work, it's the stock app replacement suggested by the virtuous team.

I'm using Camera Zoom FX, it works better for me (almost without glitches)
With ICS my photos end up with a pink/redish sphere in the middle of the photo.
With GB no!
I have view same problem on others phones (Sansung Note, Galaxy II), all have ICS!!
I think the problem is in google camera's code
Does anyone else experience this?
I experienced that also in cm10 camera but mine is purple color even on focus/out-of-focus
I think it's in the flash because i tried to take photos with and without flash

I have downgrade my phone to GB and the photo back to normal, i try to install GB camera on ICS but it's fail.
Of course it will fail we need to wait someone to modified cm10/ics camera
I think it's over exposure because of the flash

It could be the heat from the CPU which is causing this.
No, i haven't any problems with gingerbread, it's a bug software!

I have the same issue, and I would agree with you, because the problem is evident with any of the 6 different camera apps I tried, not just a stock ICS camera. It looks like some OS component providing the sensor data to a camera app is buggy. I am not a developer, so I have no idea what part of code that would be, but to my understanding camera apps don't talk to hardware directly...
And, BTW, this issue has nothing to do with flash overexposure, as previously suggested, because it's clearly visible on photos taken without flash...
Edit: Forgot to add one thing that I find a bit weird... In my case, this "pink spot" is only visible on photos taken in average natural light (like on a cloudy day, i.e. not bright). However, if I take pictures in a bright sunlight, or under artificial lighting (incandescent or CFL), or with flash, they turn our great, with no such artefacts. Go figure...
I tried other phones with ics and seems to be a common problem in low light, does not happen with sunlight.
Should compare the code jni between gingerbread and ics, i think.
I'm a Java developer but i'm develop j2ee/flash web applications.

My camera is working just fine. Maybe you have bad hardware?

Lagging here also. Btw people OP is asking about lag in the app when you move around the camera not the normal camera guys....

Exactly. It really starts to bog down when I'm in the dark.

Anyone ever find a resolution for this? I absolutely love this phone but I'm a hardcore user of Snapchat since everyone I talk to uses it for communication and this is ridiculous. Almost makes me want to switch phonese. Does it still work this way on CM/stock tons maybe?
i believe its just the hardware itself the sensor is trying to get more light in and it makes it lag i think (im no expert on cameras) as soon as i got a nexus 5 i noticed how much smoother everything seemed in the view finder and right now i just compared them it just seems to be the way the htc one is
Snapchat uses the camera app that comes with the phone now

Mine is occasional lag.
Same problem on mine, makes videos almost impossible with low light, my Alcatel pop s3 is extremely faster on snapshat. Is there a way to fix the problem ?
I asked this q in the at&t forum but I didn't get any responses and I doubt it has anything do with at&t so I'll ask again here:
The issue is that sometimes turning the phone to landscape orientation causes the viewscreen to black out. Switch back to portrait and it comes back. I can take a picture, I just can't see what I'm taking a picture of.
I have the CM11 camera, CameraZoom, and ProCapture. I think this issue is happening in all of them but I'll have to experiment more if someone thinks it is an app issue. This is frustrating because it is not consistently reproducible - it happens when I'm out somewhere trying to catch a picture! I haven't been able to reproduce it in my kitchen.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
Sent from my GT-p511x
Does it only happen on the current rom that you're on, or does it happen on others aswell?
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The only two I've used are CM11 and Mokee and I'm pretty sure it's been on both. As I said, I haven't been able to reproduce it. It's only happened when I've been trying to capture a photo and I think only outside. However, it's not just bright outdoor light (my original thought but not reproducible). I'm clueless and was just hoping someone had an idea.

Honestly, I'd probably blame it on AOSP roms (assuming mokee is AOSP too). My roommate has had tons of issues with AOSP roms on his one, while I haven't really suffered very many on mine, but I've stuck to all sense based roms since owning this phone.
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'll try a sense based ROM for a while and see what happens.

Boy, not liking sense based ROM. Had to go back to CM11. Wondering now about various camera apps. Anyone have really good experience to recommend and app? What about Google photosphere?

All of a sudden today my wife's N6 started taking pics upside down with the rear camera. I've tried uninstalling updates to the camera app, as well as the Google photos app. Nothing has worked. She is still on Lollipop. Anyone else experience this?

I have seen another thread about something similar and I think it was one of the sensors went bad but don't remember where I seen the thread. Actually it may have been a Samsung phone.
I hope that's not the case. I'm at a loss at this point. Probably going to have her call Motorola.

Just noticed that her screen will not auto rotate either. Tried the toggle in the notification menu, as well as the setting under display. It seems like perhaps these two issues are connected somehow. I wiped cache and rebooted but no fix. Any other ideas?

I fixed it by dropping the phone on the rug! Her accelerometer was stuck.
