*This is a tweak for ICS ONLY!
This has been tested on AT&T ICS Vivid based & AT&T Generic (Telestra based) rom only! Flash to Velocity or Raider based roms at your own risk. You must be using a Deodexed rom, or know how to remove the odex files from OTA standard stock roms & change permissions manually or with ADB if you do not flash via CWM.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE TERMS OF THIS POST & CONTINUED WORK ON COOL ITEMS FOR THE HOLIDAY DEVICE LINE!
***The items posted here are not to be cooked into any public rom at this time. This is for device end users & developers that wish to help compile new tweaks & participate in finalizing the product. This is not intended to start any issues, but I have been working with other developers & with Chef's on this project & there will be a release that is available soon for cooks to use in other public roms. Please be patient & RESPECTFUL to the people that have & are spending time & money on bring this quality development to the Vivid forum.
As you know, I have been working on a few projects, the biggest of which is getting more developers involved with the Holiday line of devices as well as to bring back developers that have left the XDA community because of issues & frustrations. My better judgement was to NOT post this or any preview of it until it was complete, but I want this forum to thrive & so I have to go out on a limb & have faith that the forum members & developers can be honest & follow simple rules in regards to permission. Respect is going to be key in making the Vivid forum a success & you can't have respect without trust. So I am entrusting you with this first of many tweaks either done or very close to done that will be available if everyone is honest & respectful. I believe in this community, please do not let me down.
This project is not mine alone. Many have contributed to development & to porting it to the Vivid. This is a port of the world famous tweaks by j4n87 & his great attitude towards helping build the Vivid section is greatly appreciated. He does not own a Vivid, yet he took the time to really help out or forum & has taught me quite a lot. This is in my opinion one of the coolest parts of some very cool things coming to a Vivid near you soon.
Again, this is a taste of several development items we have coming to the HTC Vivid very soon.
So now, I present you the highly anticipated Extended Quick Settings for the HTC AT&T Vivid, as well as some Telestra based ICS roms. I have been working on getting this going on the Vivid for some time & thanks to the great J4n87 (a true Smali-Maniac), this is just one part of a suite of tweaks the next release will allow for transparent EQS as well as transparent app drawer & the final program will take HTC Vivid customization to a new level.
The file attached file is a CWM flashable zip file. Just place it on your SD Card, Boot into Bootloader, Boot into your recovery (Or if using APM, bypass all the aforementioned & selest "Restart" & "Boot into Recovery"), then select flash zip menu (depends on your recovery version). Select the HTC_ATT_VIVID_EQS.zip & flash just like you would a a rom or any other CWM flashable zip.
Remember, if you like this mod, please click thanks & please be sure to look up j4n87 & thank him even more.
Please, if possible, take a minute to DL from Mediafire here:

Once done this app will allow you to change ON THE FLY: APM, EQS (my Version, prob. gonna add Jan's as final which includes ability to remove or re-position eqs toggle items, go straight to EQS if you have no notifications), Hide Wifi Config (saves space when wifi is not active), Hide notification Icons, Show/Disable recent apps in QS drop down, Enable/Disable EQS Transparency, Notification Bar Caption (add custom text to notificaton bar), Hide specific notification icons, Enable/Disable unlock animations, Standard/Super/Ultra Smooth Rosie, Clock L/R/C, the power saving Capacitive Backlight settings (dim button backlight between 3x levels: Standard/Dim/Off), operator name displayed (Customize or remove), Use/remove paginated app drawer function, change between 4 or 5 column app drawer, Use of AOSP lockscreen, Unlock options (use of Menu button), Up/Down Volume wake (wake device with volume rocker), Access the HTC Diagnotic App & hidden Diag screens, Change or remove the Overscroll Glow Color, MMS Wake up (lights screen when MMS message is received) & APM tweaks including ability to add or remove Screenshot, Airplane Mode, Mobile Data & the Sound Toggle buttons from the APM menu.
Today you are getting a glimpse into this great development with the APM mod.
Nice job, I'm liking all these ported mods coming in all of a sudden.
Thanks - This installs fine on the "WCX Sense Telstra Velocity ICS 3.6 Initial Release" but there seems to be an issue with WiFi, it is greyed out in quick settings and the text says "turning on" but nil happens. Wireless ADB is also marked as "Turning On" but is not greyed out and you can turn it ON/OFF(the Telstra Radio???). I can also no longer enable WiFi or the Hotspot with the normal widget or via the main menu either.
This is the only issue I have seen but are there other things you would like me to test (as I will flash back at some point of course)
Thanks
Nathan
Everything works fine on my end. Using AT&T Generic build by WCX.
I am on generic base, which is telestra based without issue. It may be something you have installed.
Give me detail & I will try to recreate & logcat or give me a logcat.
Of course mine uses some SDK libraries & drivers that are not in many roms since they don't get used by the gen. pop.
Can I hide that link to the non-existent tweaks app on the top of the Quick Settings?

The WiFi does eventually say it failed, but I'm having issue getting a logcat to send...I've installed CatLog but the Wait Circle goes around and around once I try to start WiFi. As it could be any off the things installed, I'll go back and flash "WCX Sense Telstra Velocity ICS 3.6 Initial Release" then bump on EQS and see what happens prior to loading up anything else.

Works great on rum float beta 3.
Hmm... I'm on Rum Float Beta 3 and everything is working great other than WiFi. It will not turn on period whether it is toggled through EQS, launcher widget, or though the settings app. If I can't manage to some how get this fixed is there a way to uninstall EQS without a refresh?

It's not non-existent. It's just not available. Yet. Look at 3rd point in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583022) Once this Tweaks app is released, the shortcut will do something
I flashed the rom, but now it replaced the 4g icon on the task bar with an h icon. When I was on gingerbread there was a tweak to change it back to the AT&T 4g icon. Can anyone make one for ics?
Thanks

Oxygen is an AOSP source built ROM (ie. not a mod of any sense based ROM), it's minimal, it's superfast and mostly bugfree.
As Oxygen is not a mod/port of CM or any other ROM and may not be to everyones liking, it's minimalistic and basic but I'm open to ideas and suggestions for improving the ROM.
Features
Android v2.3.4 (GRJ22) built from AOSP
Linux kernel v2.6.35.x
Minimal Google apps
Superuser
Busybox
Additional features
Adhoc wifi network support
Advanced power menu with reboot options
Customizable overclock settings
Customizable status bar power widget
Download any file type
Enhanced auto backlight settings
Facebook contacts sync
Headset Icon
HSPA Icon
Improved widget picker
Long press back to kill mod
Modified Launcher2 with quick uninstall
Optional battery percentage
SIP calling over 3G
Text reflow when zooming
Track change with volume buttons
Various other tweaks and features
Installation
A wipe is required when first flashing Oxygen, however, unless otherwise stated, no wipe is needed to upgrade between versions.
Download update-oxygen-xxx-signed.zip to your sdcard storage on your HTC Desire
Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery through whatever method you choose (ROM Manager, Power + Volume Up, ADB etc...)
Back up your existing installation
[First flash only] Use the volume keys and power button to select Wipe Data
Select Install Zip from SD Card
Find the update-oxygen-xxx-signed.zip file you downloaded earlier
Scroll through all the No's and hit Yes, install update-oxygen-xxx-signed.zip
Wait for the installation to finish
Select Reboot
After initial reboot, reboot a second time and you're all set

Android development is a hobby for me, the Android community has been good to me and I enjoy what I do, I don't do it for any personal gain or gratification so if you like Oxygen and would like to show appreciation for the time and effort me and other people have put into it then I would very much appreciate it if you could donate to the 'childhood leukaemia' charity I support, you can donate via Paypal or by card/cheque, thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for donating if you choose to .

Finally!
I loved Oxygen to Desire, now it will be to my new Nexus S aswell! Great!
Damn!
This "test" rom is fast and smooth, and I haven't encountered any bugs. Ran my normal WiFi, camera and GPS tests and all work perfectly.
Thanks OP!
Finally it's official
BTW:
I created my "Black" theme for the Nexus S. You can download it HERE and you will find screenshots HERE
Unfortunatley, this theme does not have a transparent notification area, I'm still looking for the reason.
Good seeing you here adam
This is what I've been looking for, thank you!
great! downloading the testbuild now.
i already used oxygen on my desire and loved it. nice to have you here now, adam!!!
keep up your great and amazing work
Since almost all people here are ex desire users raving about this rom .. Can some of you tell me why this rom is special ?
Great ROM. Ad-Hoc is a must for me so I'll be keeping my eyes on this.
Will use it as daily driver if you add CM7 Hebrew/Arabic & RTL support.
Thank you!
how about making notif bar and dialer transparant ? =p.. and some theme to choose for other (optional)..

Because on Desire Oxygen is simply the Best ROM. Fastest, bug-free, long battery life, hackfree.
I tried some ROMs on Nexus S (after I came from Desire) and non of that give me that profit like Oxygen on Desire.
Right now I preparing my Nexus for flash Oxygen-TEST

Not a former desire user raving about the rom here. Flashed for the 1st time this morning. Here's what I think is so "special" about this rom (imao, of course):
1. First thing I noticed is how fast it is and that it feels really quick.
2. Clean, stock gingerbread. No themes or themed icons, notifications, etc. Just Android.
3. No bloatware at all. Not even wallpaper and live wallpaper bloat. Sweet.
4. The OP's mods add a nice touch to things and are really useful -- the reboot w/ options mod, optional battery %, optional notification power widget mod, long press back to kill app mod, browser reflow mod.
5. Ability to move all apps, not just user apps, to sdcard.
6. Even though this is a "test" release, I haven't noticed any bugs. GPS, WiFi, and BT all work great for me. No FC's either.
Overall, I think this rom offers the benefits of CM7 w/o the bloat of CM7. The other thing I think is cool is that the dev wants donations for this rom to go to a charity that he supports. I've never seen anyone on xda do that before. That's the kind of dev I want to support. Plus its a great rom.
Running Oxygen-TEST and I miss NFC settings and app.
Oxygen on nexuss !!great my desire loved that rom, nice work adam!
Introduction
This mod adds an option to hide/restore the system bar to the power menu (appears when you press and hold the power button). You can see screenshots at the end of this post. Please read all instructions and requirements carefully before installing.
This is the very first release and stable performance is not guaranteed! Make a backup before installing.
Prerequisites
Retail Wi-fi Tab (7510).
Deodexed ROM based on UEKME stock firmware.
The ROM must have framework-res.apk and android.policy.jar unchanged from stock. This mod overwrites these files. If they have been changed by the ROM, best case you'll cancel some of the ROM modifications, worst case - your device will stop working. If the ROM uses a custom theme or adds elements to the power menu (such as 'Reboot' or 'Boot into recovery'), most likely it isn't compatible. If unsure, ask your ROM developer. In case your ROM is not compatible, ask your developer to include this mod into their ROM.
As of now (September 16), StarBurst ROM should be compatible. I think it'll work on Task650 ROM, but you'll lose extra options that ROM has in the power menu by default.
Installation
Check all the prerequisites!
Make a full nandroid backup!!!
Download the attached update.zip and put it on the sdcard.
Flash from the CWM ('Apply update from SD Card' option).
Reboot (the boot will take a while, it's normal).
Long press the power button to see the updated menu.
Select the "System bar" option.
Click "Allow" in the superuser prompt.
Repeat 6-7 to restore the system bar.
Troubleshooting
Long first boot (several minutes showing Samsung logo) is normal. Boot animation with sound playing over and over is not.
If the mod doesn't work, try rebooting. If the problem persists, post logcat.
If you device doesn't boot, double-check all the prerequisites. If everything seems in order, post logcat.
Download
update.zip is attached to this post (mirror)
src.zip contains modified source files and resources for developers only (download)

Awesome. Can't wait for this to be baked into a few ROMs. Great idea.
Should be in every ROM from now on. More screen real estate = massive win for videos, gaming, you name it.
Excellent work.

It will probably be less useful for games than you think, since most games have graphic resources designed for specific resolutions. My guess is that you'll see a lot of black margins in games. Also not very useful for videos, unless you watch a lot of old movies that are not widescreen.
My primary motivation was reading, actually
this would be great for web browsing for me. the stock browser always take precious real estate for tab on top and the system bar on bottom. i always looks squeeze to me. this is one of my complaint comparing to ipad2 aspect ratio.

I know this not exactly a bug or anything but i just want to say that if anyone one else have a better idea to toggle the hide/unhide control please suggest. While using the power button is the most obvious way, i cant help but to mention that its not exactly user friendly in term of multitasking.

I haven't tried this out yet. But to keep the extended power menu you will have to add the strings for them. I'm going to update my rom tomorrow with this added to the extended power menu. I'll post it here if the OP wants me to also.

I was thinking more for emulation unless you think they would not stretch using the "fullscreen" modes.
I do watch quite a bit of 4:3 content too, I am assuming this would stretch downward to use the added pixels.
Web browsing will be nice too.
Maybe overthinking it lol.
Hidding the control bar is very usefull and handy together with Buttom Savior and Elixir Widgets. Now I always have my control keys in the right side of the screen wher are more easy and fast to reach.

HTC One Illusion Rom FAQs
How do I enable HALO?
Go into settings. Under Illusion System Settings, select interface. You will find Halo Options. Here you can turn on halo, and tweak the way Halo works.
Where is my Data toggle in the notification pane quick settings panel?
As of right now, the only way to toggle data is through the Data Usage menu in settings. A fix is being worked on for this. I believe the problem exists in quite a few ROMS for the One.
Why isn't my NFC working?
Don't worry, all you need to do is flash the file at the bottom of this post title NFC Fix. This fix was pointed out by @Pony Express.
How do I enable/Disable CRT animations?
CRT off animation can be toggled under Illusion System Settings>Display
How do I access Google Now?
On the HTC One, the HTC logo is NOT a button. However, in the Illusion ROM (and some other ones), the strip above the logo has been modded to work as a button. Long pressing that stip will give you instant access to Now
Are there any other Bugs I should be aware of?
Not sure if it is mac only, or whether this will occur on PC as well, but if you connect as MTP, mac does not recognize it. ADB and PTP work fine. It is only MTP where this issue occurs. At this point, I feel the issue is with Macs being unable to recognize the MTP protocol. I was able to work it on a PC.

Yup, my party is about to jump-off shortly!!!
Well the ROM is certainly speedy, but there are some things I can't help but notice:
1. There is a small delay between tapping an item on the screen, and an action happening...for example, tapping an ON/OFF toggle would turn that toggle on, or off, about a half second after I tapped it. Same goes with opening the app drawer, or any app.
2. The audio sounds very distorted. It never sound so distorted on the stock ROM, so maybe there's a file missing that needs to be extracted so the BOOM sound doesn't sound bad. (using the built in EQ app doesn't work well either)
3. The font is somewhat difficult to read, even with it set to large. It's very narrow....
Other than that, it's a wonderful ROM for those wanting stock
Sweet, would try this out. Thanks devs

The sound issue is definitely present in new Cyanogen mod builds, it only happens when its on max volume, tick it one down and it's gone. I noticed this one the 7/6 nightly and it drove me crazy so much I went back to sense.
Just installed this rom. GPS seems to not work on any aosp or aokp builds. Any fix?
I can post a log cat if needed.

Here is a couple things you can try. Go into Google settings app / location and make sure access is turned on also before flashing over to a Aosp from sense make sure you turn your GPS on and get a lock in maps then boot into recovery and flash Rom. And in LTE gps acts flakky I have to toggle location access while on lte. To get it to turn on hope this helped

If you didn't run GPS at least once on Sense, it frequently won't work with CM/AOKP builds. Go and do that...once you do that CM10/AOKP lock on to GPS (on my phone) in about 2 seconds, even indoors.
EDIT: This means you have to RUU back to stock, GPS lock, then re-install whatever ROM.
New Build tomorrow

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM10.1 builds and i have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

That's because its detecting a different radio signal when in call. Just disable 4g/LTE (make a quick settings toggle) and you'll be able to see your actual signal. Depending on how ya look at it, can be a good thing cause it forces us to disable the power hungry 4g radio in order to see the signal strength.

And how everyone *****ed and said "This phone sucks -- no roms, bad battery, no development". I"d say "Wait three months, then complain."
3 months later we have tons of roms and the only big bugs left are 4G/LTE signal, bluetooth sometimes, and battery drain. As far as bluetooth is concerned, none of our devs have bluetooth audio devices -- can't fix what ya don't have .
//And I gotta ask, do all these roms being labeled as [PORT] bug you as much as it bugs me? If they actually were ports, I'd say nothing, but they're Unofficial Kangs from source....The XDA definition of a kang is --
Kang: Someone writes a code, someone else modifies the code to make their own release, its considered a kang release.
-- which is exactly what these are...
//Since I couldn't find it, the definition of a Port --
Port: Someone releases rom 1 for device A. Someone else takes rom 2 from device B and combines the two roms until rom 1 works on device B.
///These being labeled as [PORT] bugs me just as much as @noobsaibot replying above the quote instead of below.....
////Really, is it that hard to post below the quote so everything flows in a logical order?
/////Not to mention he screws up half the time and the quote boxes are all out of wack

hi
i spent some time on modifications of sense 6 and want to share it with you all.
the rom is based on the awesome maximusHD rom but enhanced with some hd2o flavor.
the main reason for it's existence is that i use it on my device like this since months.
had some bugs that took quite a while to fix (related to high density mode).
what i did in comparison to maximusHD 7.0.0:
applied the 7.1.0 OTA update from the creator to the rom:
-Base 2.22.401.5
-GPS performance improvement
-Youtube Fix
-Bringing back HTC Taskmanager
in addition to that i list what i changed further:
-updated all built in apps (many updates since v7.0.0)
-updated H/K-Mod in aroma with latest 4.4.3 fix
and finally my hd2o modifications that i add exclusively:
-high density 5x5 homescreen
-higher density system wide (more content, smaller UI elements)
-some UI fixes related to high density mode
-my refined 1% battery iconset i released lately
-my preferred lock/unlock sounds (lockscreen)
-added the red sunbeam live wallpaper from GPE
-high density fix for fm-radio
please help me to identify any other density related problems and i will try to fix them.

-i recommend disabling auto update for blinkfeed because it's modified (i will provide flashable zip updates)

I don't see what makes this so unique to Maximus. Couldn't you have just released a zip to add those mods instead of making it a whole new rom?
what makes it special is that everything is built in already how i use it.
if it's special for you is none of my business.
also i don't want to take away his users at all. some might like my addons, some might not.
i did this mainly for myself. as proof that i am also able to "cook" android roms by now.
it might be just a one time release after all. so i have been there and did that.

Hello, thanks for the great work.
In Italy there is a problem for those who like operator H3G, which when it has no signal leans tim roaming, but only for calls not for data.
The problem is that moving from Roma who had no trouble with 15.401.10, the 2.22.401.5, and doing a full wipe, the terminal automatically activate the roaming.
Even if you go into settings and check the lever, this is automatically enabled.
Can you help me?
roaming on/off switch works fine here. so that must be a operator specific thing.
they might want it force enabled because otherwise they could not reach some customers. dunno.
or maybe htc made a fault with 2.22 related to this specific operator.

It may be so, but because if I'm going to remove the flag from roaming, he puts it back without me touching anything?
Hi you supported htc m8 sprint ? Thank

Hey Man, I remember you from HD2, I loved your ROM, and you have always been contributing a lot to the community.
There are always people who will say stuff like "what's the point of this rom?" or "what makes it different?". That is just so sad, because this is not what XDA is all about.
I used to cook "Cruzer ROM Series" back in Win-Mo days, but I never had the courage to start making android ROMs. In fact, most of the Win-Mo chefs never started cooking for android devices. So you certainly did something that deserves a credit, and you should be proud, whether people will appreciate it or not.
I wish you best of luck, and I'm waiting to see amazing things from you very soon!
I'm going to sound like a noob... But what's higher density? Considering that's the major element of your rom.
Thanks
i am using 400 (htc one max) instead 480 (htc one) screen density.
this means that basically all system ui content is displayed in a smaller scale.
this different scale means:
-5x5 homescreen layout instead 4x4
-smaller fontsize systemwide
-smaller taskbar
-more content displayed in sms/e-mail/browser etc.
-smaller graphical ui elements in widgets etc (some might find them hard to hit)
-i removed the pageindicator because it overlaps dock icons (softkeys cause this)
Het there HD2Owner as to be expected the rom runs smooth as bitter, same quality as the original from Ivan. I also love the density change very much! Just 2 minor things bug me, the dialer doesn't show right and keypad overlaps the found contacts and the app drawer button is out of line / a bit high. Both issues I also say on Richmondo's Xtended Settings APP
Do you think you can do something about it?
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One_M8 met Tapatalk
So essentially... You've modified the Prism to be 5x5? If I take the Prism.apk out and use it in the ROM I'm running, it'll work (Based off 2.22.401.5). I wanna make sure there are no other crazy additions that break with just using a 5x5 homescreen.

i just had a look. i barely use the actual dialpad page (mosty call history) so i did not notice it yet.
in latest m8 rom (2.22), htc merged the dialer with the contacts app. so a fix for this might not be that easy.
but i will try to fix it. might take a while tho.
