[Q] rom problem

i used rom manager 4.0.5.0 flash cm7,the phone restart and stop at cm7 screen,
what can i do to recovery? thanks

Have you got the correct ext?? Flash the ext 3 for cm7 then try again

Another possible problem, if it's not EXT4 (due to coming from an MCR) then you forgot to wipe.

Have you tried installing CWM from my thread in the dev section, it gains root to flash it.

Thanks you to Rusty! again, i'm ok now, but i had installed 2 times today. First time the phone appear cm7 screen after install cm7, i afraid same as last time, so i imm used nvflash to reflash the phone. then i install another version at second time, it also appear cm7 screen, i'm very lucky this time, it appear normal picture at time while i want to reflash the phone again. very funny, the first time may be ok.

The first time, did you come from a MoDaCo (or derivative) ROM? If so it will be because you need to convert back to EXT3.

[Q] LG - P970 bootlooping

Hey guys, i really need some help asap. I really know i will be called a noob for asking this, but i had flashed V20n into my Lg Optimus Black (P970). After i installed Zeus mod on it i got a few bugs, very rarely and some times it wouldnt start. I used to take the battery out for a few hours and everything worked perfect. The last 2 days to it refuses to open. Stays on the LG screen and the buttons flash (has reached CMR screen, i have done a format and then restarted it, and nothing works now AGAIN). I have used easy flasher, trying to install the v20s from 3 different forums but none of them helps. I would really appreciate if i could get some useful fast answers or other link refferals. I have absolutely no personal time within the day, and i will need to know fast in case i need to take it to the service center.

What about smartflashtool, did you try it yet?
If not, download it (use search to find it), then go to my noob how to, download the patched v20s provided in there and then it should work fine again. Dont forget to flash the superuser.zip and do a data, cache, dalvik wipe.

I have tryed it 3 times but with nothing happening. I flashed the AP and the CP file through smartflash :-/ everything in the console succeeds but when it resets target and phone reboots, it wont open. It was just lying there 30 min on the lg sign and the buttons flashing

Try to flash a v10 version. Or try b2c app and emergency recovery.

Are you using touch version of clockworkmod recovery? If yes try to use normal clockworkmod recovery. I have a case before whatever rom i flashed i always ended into bootloop because of the touch version of clockworkmod.

yes, i have the touch mod. How can i switch to normal? Works by flashing?

is there any chance that by switching to v10 it will work? Also, will i be able to go back to v20 after that? And, i got no idea how to use a b2c app so ill look in the site. Just incase i dont find anything can u send me a link plz?

b2c emergency recovery did nothing... :-/

Fixed
i cant install cwm with the kdz file... i tryed to reflash with smartflash and your patched rom, but stuck into bootloop. Every time i use smartflash i bootloop ... :-/ when i run the kdz file update, everything works great but i canw find a way to flash cwm on it :-/

methods tryed:
i used the method described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512203 "FAILED" i have tryed all applications like R&D Test tool, BlackJack etc. But tey all fail... Only one that used to work was the smartflash one, that for some odd reason says it succeses but makes my phone bootloop :-/

Try to flash a very old one like V10A_00.kdz that you can root with GingerBreak-v1.20.apk

hi all... can you please help me to fix my sgs s i9000....
i tried to flash it with odin and after that it keeps saying force close for every program even the setup wizard...it shows nothing more than the lock screen....
i reflashed it it thousend of times and the same problem still....i wipe factory reset...wipe data and cache...i also formatted the sd card and wipe the dalvik cache..and reflashed but the problem still......please help me guyes....i cant do anything about this problem...i did all that i can do but nothing was changed...

Are you sure that you have a I9000 and not one of the variants. If you are sure, download another rom and try again.

yes am sure...i tiried the rom that i have flashed befor...and 2 other...the same problem still

I am stumped as well. I have never heard of this happening before. You are flashing stock roms right? Where are you getting them from?

This may be due to permissions. Just boot into recovery, goto advanced, fix permissions and reboot. This should fix it for you. Thanks,

am sorry but nothing chaged...when the phone start it shows setupwizard stop running force close and also for the other old program that where installed.....but i try to format the usb drive when i mount it with pc on recovery mod..but nothing was ereased...i used the program to format it and it says formatted but when i reboot the phone i found every thing back!! i was shocked...i have tryed thousand of time to farmat what i have on the usb storage but i couldnt...i have tried both ways when sd card mounted and unmounted...and the same problem still...the rom keeps chaging and the recovery mode also but the force close wont go away...i tried to install a rom using the recovery mode but i was unabel to copy the rom to the usb storage....form the pc i have seen it copied...and in the phone also...but wont istall and when rebooted the rom was gone....its like that i cant do nothing neither right or edit files on the phone memory.....i tried to fix permissions and wipe data and cache and bettery stat and dalvik cache..nothing changed...am confused...i cant figure out what is this

cant fix the problem of force close...i did it but it seems that the phone memory is unchangeble...i cant delete any diroctory on it and i cant copy nothing on it but i can copy it(i ment the memory is not corrupted) every rom that i flashed with says the same thing when the phone started..its a force close for almost all program and the setup wizard....the lockscreen is activatid with no problem but the home and application surface is black only the time and the battery status is visible..when you click the home botton it says setup wizard stop working force close no matter the rom is

So here it is: I tried flashing cwm recovery via odin but the phone got disconnected in the process. I can boot into download by using usb jig. What do i need to do to get back at least the stock phone?

So I did everything U sad in the tutorial but ODIN seems to be stuck. Downloaded something called "amss" took 15 min and says 1/7 done. Ever since its trying to download "adsp". Its been over an hour and nothing is happening. When the phone got bricked I wasnt be able to boot it in recovery either. All I got was an icon of a connection between phone and PC. How long should I wait for ODIN? Is there anything else I can try after?

Okay you can do the following thinfs
- reboot pc and phone again and try it
- download broodrom rc 5 try to flash this (the same way as stock) and perform a factory reset in the recovery and flash stock again
(will take some time)
If you encounter anything else let me know

Thank you for all your help so far, I decided to keep the PC running for the night so odin can have all night trying (95 min now) and see what happened in the morning. If nothing then I try that broodrom tomorrow. I let you know how it turns out.

A bit a waste of time flashing broodrom takes about 20 min and believe me if you let Odin run all night it won't change a thing. Try the above first i can almost guarantee it fixes the issue

Well I did it thanks to your guide. It was late and I was tired so I went to sleep but when I woke up it was done. Im back to stock. Installing CWM via ODIN got me in trouble in the first place so I did that too from stock recovery. Now I have CWM. And now that I know how to go back I might try that Brood rom U mentioned. Big thanx to you! :good:

in adition to tutorial it is recomended to turn off your antivirus program when using odin

Cannot make phone start, stuck at Semaphore logo / animation

Hi,
As the title says I have small problem. I bought my SGS1 with custom rom and kernel flashed into it already - sometimes it shows wrong time, went into recovery mode without my knowledge, had some problems with apps. Today I pressed Power and chose reboot - now I am stuck at animation that appears after logo kernel Semaphore. Of course I tried to look in other threads, I found a lot of them but still I cant figure out how to do it. You see, I never did it before and it's all hokus-pokus to me even tho I read stuff here at the forums. I managed to get into downloand and recovery mode using 3 button combo What do I do now? It seems way too complicated for newbie like me, every post isn't explaining it enuff for me. Can someone help me or at least give some tips, clues?
Things I got installed are Android 4 .0.4, 3.0.8 Semaphore ics 1.1.2s.

Get in recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache and reboot.
It will take a while to full boot cause it will have to rebuild it's cache but should work from there.
If it doesn't, You'll need more stuff but we'll get to that then.

Okay. I wiped cache and dalvik. Now I'm waiting on animation screen for 30 minutes. I'll let you know what happens after 1 hour.
By the way does any of those problems could be related to low battery? I had like 20% last time I rebooted my phone and problems started.
One more thing is - I don't have memory microSD card - guy sent me 16GB one but it doesn't work. Can we fix it without it? I wanted to buy a new one eventually
EDIT: Okay, one hour passed after I wiped cache. Everything was stuck on animation but suddenly, after I walked out of phone for a 5 minutes it stopped - everything was gone, I couldn't Power it or use 3 button combo. Did you recently remove the sd card? If so, try booting with it in your cell.
If that doesn't work, Mount your phone through recovery to backup your stuff on PC (like pics).
Now you'll need Odin KK4 without bootloaders (found in the stickies). As will as corn kernel and Odin 1.87. And finally a JB rom you wanna use on your internal sd.
Get your phone in download mode and flash KK4 (stock GB). Let it do us it's magic, once done, make sure it boots up fine. Then get back in recovery to flash corn kernel with odin 1.87 (gotta put it in the PDA slot). Finally, follow the FULL instructions provided by the ROM dev you chose.

Damn that's confusing. First thing this subforum - it's for AT&T and other branded phones? My isn't like one of them! I guess I had the wrong subforum all the time. Or maybe your instructions will still work with my GT-I9000? Damn, I got confused seeing AT&T and Rogers everywhere in stickies. My phone aint associated to any of those brands. Am I writing in wrong subforum? :3 That'd sad

Eh yeah you're and it's a really good thing you noticed! Could've bricked your phone.
The lil guide i gave you is the same but you gotta use their files. You'll have to go over there to get them.
