[Q] Getting "Red triangle !" when trying recover with HTC Vivid - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

Trying to reboot into recovery, and instead I get a red triangle with an explanation mark? what does this mean?
BTW I tried to search and find a thread that answers this but didn't find anything.

Most likely means that you do not have a custom recovery installed.
Find a recovery.img file and flash it using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or whatever the name of the file is.
3) (Optional) Flash a custom Kernel/Recovery (Three options, I suggest the FIRST)

Unlocked but unrooted nexus one in peril

Alright, I give up.
I've wasted one full day and all I do is keep going in circles. I have an unlocked bootloader but I am not able to flash custom recovery to it. When I do:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img
it is successful but am having the problem mentioned here:
"Make sure that init.rc isn't calling any install-recovery.sh script, otherwise you'll boot back to stock recovery (exclamation mark with a little Android)."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10467058&postcount=1638
So, no custom rom because I cant turn off verification in order to flash custom rom zip file. Now the problem is that I can't even fix this problem because I don't have root so I can't delete the following files:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
When I try adb shell it keeps saying "permission denied"
It gets better - I've managed to mess things up royally even further. I tried flashing FRG83 system image using "flashboot update update.zip". It was successful but now my phone is going in boot loop!!
Can someone please help me before I lose hope in humanity?
Recovery is only restored when you boot into system, so the idea is that you flash recovery, and go straight into it via the on phone menu, and then install what you need to...
You can either flash a pre-rooted GB, flash the su.zip and then you'll have su access to delete the files when in system or adb, or flash this zip which will remove the two files...

[Q] moving from HD2 to nexus one - questions

Hello,
Yesterday i picked up a used nexus one to replace my hd2 with android. (hd2 was way to big and i fell in love with the custom LED colours in yt vids)
The Phone is set up with stock 2.3.4 android.
My Questions are:
1. What's the easiest way to flash a custom ROM like CM7 7.1 RC (i'm a bit confused with all the howto's and wikis because i have 2.3.4)
2. How to get the colours @ the LED trackball working? it's only flashing white when i get a missing text not even when i got a missed call.
thanks in advance
Just root using your favorite rooting guide, then flash clockworkmod recovery. From there its insanely easy to flash cyan, or many other roms even. But clockworkmod is what you want.
I have just recently figured that one out, some of the nice guys here at xda helped me out alot, it will probably be useful for u
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145445&page=2
Ok since your on 2.3.4 you'll need to do one of two things unlock the bootloader or downgrade.
If you want to unlock the bootloader just google it then do the following download amon ra http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829 put it in the same directory as fastboot (you'll know what I mean after you unlock the bootloader), and superuser (eclair froyo version) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828 and put it on your SD card. Then go into cmd and go to the directory where you have fastboot then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (where recovery.img is the name of the file you downloaded earlier) (btw no quotes) "fastboot boot recovery.img" and flash su with the flash zip from sd card option.
If you want to downgrade check the wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nexus_One/Guides_%26_Tutorials#Unroot_.2F_Restore_your_Nexus then just root with superonleclick rageagainstthecage method.
thanks for the help
i already unlocked the bootloader and installed Amon_RA recovery but when i want to get in recovery i just get a callsign with an android what do?
Read the Wiki, section "Installing Recovery".

[Q] Cant flash Amon Ra, Recovery just shows Exclamation!

Hey Experts,
I cant 4 the life of me understand how to flash Amon Ra 2.2.1.
I have followed the wiki/Xda to run "fastboot flash recovery recovery image from Adb
It says its successful on Cmd n stuff, but i still think i m on stock reCovery
I have tried to put the recovery.img on sd card, and tried i just get a screen witha Exclamation sign with a lil android guy.
I m trying to do an nandroid backup and wipe data/dalvik b4 flashing Cm7.
Thats y i m trying to get onto Recovry:
Specs:stock 2.3.4, Bootloader unlockd (not roooted still!!)
Can som1 help? thx
Flash it from fastboot. Which I think you did anyways but that is not adb.
Then you must boot directly into recovery. If you boot up the phone it will overnight it with stock. You flash from a computer. Not from SD......

Just help me do an nandroid and wipe cache/dalvik
I ll take it on from there
thx sir!
Again. Put the recovery image in the same directory as fastboot on your computer. Issue the correct exact command. Fastboot flash recovery "put the exact file name here"
Now on your phone which is still in fastboot mode.... pick the recovery option. It is that simple.....

Im all set with a rooted 2.3.4 with Amon Ra! thx dude
i have mrkd ur post as thx n stuff so that this thread is resolved
If you are on a stock ROM, any custom recovery (like Amon_RA) will be overwritten on every boot with the stock recovery.
To make the custom recovery stick while using a stock ROM, you need to delete (or rename) the following two files:
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
... as mentioned in the first post of the Amon_RA recovery thread...

Yeah. Sad thing is, had he actually read the wiki and done what it said, he would have never had to make this thread. Sigh... people will never learn.

Please, help me root my Performance...

HI. First of all, sorry for my english....
I've successfully unlocked bootloader, now i'm going to root my phone, but, how?!? I've read a lot of guides here, but i'm not so good with modding, and every thread hasn't a full specified "how to" with step by step tutorial.....
So.... I'm following this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...ment/mod-sony-stock-patcher-xperia-x-t3528148
And i've download the sony stock patcher N zip file and i put it into my sdcard.
But I read that I need TWRP first, so for now i've downloaded the TWRP 3.1.0 zip file and the img file from this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...recovery-twrp-3-0-2-0-touch-recovery-t3470402
I've open a cmd and type fastboot devices, and the device appear.... but now?
I have to simply type "flash twrp.img" following the instructions on twrp site?
Then i have to simply boot into recovery and flash the sony stock patcher.zip?
And then, i have to flash supersu? (i don't know ho to find SSU files...)
thanks
If you want to flash TWRP, you need to type "fastboot flash recovery <TWRP filename>" (for example, your TWRP image is named "twrp-3.1.0-0-dora.img",
then you should type "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-dora.img")
After flashing, boot into recovery and then flash the sony stock patcher and SuperSU.
You can get SuperSU over here.

Corrupted partition - Global red magic 3 Rom phone

help me please. Phone RED MAGIC 3
I tried to install the custom ROM and my phone ended up corrupting the partition. I can't start in recovery mode, it is on that screen where you have the options: Restart, restart in recovery mode, restart in emergency recovery mode, Shut down. I downloaded the Chinese ROM, but in ZIP format. It has a lot of files, with boot.img and others in .img format, it also has the META-INF folder. How can I flash this ZIP to install the ROM? thanks
It looks like you did that without knowing enough about the procedure. The are a lot of guides explaining how to do it in the Red Magic 3 thread. Take a see about a solution.
Now, your problem is that you flashed the zip in the recovery without unlocking bootloader first. You must boot into the bootloader (the menu where you see that options to boot) and use the next fastboot commands (I won't explain about adb and fastboot. You have to download it and install them before use it. Look any guide on XDA):
Code:
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX629J
At this step, you unlocked the bootloader temporally to flash any .IMG file
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
You should see an advirtise screen that tells you about that your data is going to be fully wiped. Accept it and then you should be able to boot into the system and even into the recovery. To return to the global rom, simply flash the global rom (EU or NA) again. Don't lock the bootloader again or your phone will show you the same corruption screen. To flash the roms you don't have to uncompress the zip files you downloaded.
I hope that could be useful for you. Regards.

Good Morning!
Thank you very much for the answers. I did all of these procedures via FASTBOOT, but I forgot to unlock the OEM, for this reason it corrupted. After it's corrupted, I do the OEM unlock procedure, however, when the file is ZIP (where it contains the startup items, META-INF) an error appears: file does not exist android.info.txt. This ZIP is for flashing via the system's internal memory, not via FLASHBOOT. As I cannot recover the recovery mode, I cannot update this ROM.zip. Is there another way to flash this zip? Sorry for the typo, I'm using google translator.

There is no much more options. There is only a way to flash the chinese rom for the phone and it's flashing the zip you downloaded in the recovery. If the message of "corrupted device" stills appearing before enter the flashing unlock fastboot command I recommend you to use he recovery tool that you could find in various of the threads about the Red Magic 3, but you should be able to boot the rom before the flashing unlock, I told you this because it happened to me in the same way.
If you are trying to flash the files of the different partitions in .img format, I have to tell that it's a little complicated because the zip doesn't contains a system.img, so you will halve to loose your data once to recover the phone...
Easy fix. Use the red magic 3 unbrick too. https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic-3/how-to/tool-nubia-red-magic-3-unbirck-tool-t3965044
Just follow the instructions in the tool zip.
