I have just updated to ICS (locked and not rooted at this time).
When I plug in the charger all of the controls act as if I am touching some other part of the screen! Even the lock screen is goofy. I cannot pull an icon into the ring. It moves but will not go all the way?!
Any ideas??
the phone works this way in Charge Only, if it is in Sync or if only a charger is connected . . . . Debug is on.
That's strange, I can't speak for locked and rooted as I am unlocked and rooted but back when I was on 2.3 I installed a app from the market that caused me to lose multi touch. I believe it was a launcher I installed that caused the issue. I would check your apps.

Is anyone else having this issue as well I can get rid of it I've tried everything to what happens is sometimes when my phone is asleep tonight wake it up it's completely unresponsive, the screen turns on but I can't do anything other than hit the power button on and off and volume other than that I am stuck on the same screen. Also when I wake up in the morning after charging my phone overnight it is always frozen like this but even worse when it has been more than a few hours. Could this be related to using an alternative home? I have used both launcher pro and adw with the same results. I have never had this with any of my other android phones. Any ideas?

Take it to Verizon and get a switchout.
Before I do that I would like to make sure that it isn't software based otherwise I will just run into the same issue.

I haven't experienced that issue, but something similar. About once every 2 days my phone won't wake at all. The notification light seems to be working, but pressing the power/lock button doesn't wake the phone, screen stays black and I have to pull the battery. If I call the phone while it's in this state, nothing happens on the Bionic's side, but the phone I calling from hears 4 rings before going to voicemail. I've uninstalled Widget Locker and Home Switcher to see if either of them are the culprit.
awesome, thanks
I would do a factory rest and see if it was a software problem first.

Do you have in pocket detection on under settings? Try turning that off. I was having major issues like that when I was using that setting.

Touch screen problem
Hi,
Were you able to solve your problem?
Im having the exact same problem with a friends phone.
are you using a custom ROM by chance? More specifically, Cyanogen Mod 7 has a "tablet tweak" settings menu that allows you to use "dead zones" on the screen. If that's not the case I would check with your provider or place you purchased it from and see if they can help point you in the right direction.

The phone was on stock rom, chaned it to see if problem would go. Still same.
I live in Bolivia, so it will be a bit hard to get support.

After reading deep sleep problems after unplugging the charger while the Lockscreen is on. And using Kies cast the headset stopped it but couldn't get the song started after it had to unlock phone enter Kies cast manual start it then the headset did work again (pause/resume). So anyone noticed any other app acting weird without unlocking the phone?

A forum administrator plx add the word USE on title
Lockscreen prevents normal use of some functions
Thanks
so my phone was working just fine all day yesterday and all days prior. I woke up this morning to the sensitivity of the screen to be really poor. if I try to navigate through the app tray the phone will usually open the app which my finger touched in order to start the swipe. it is also touch to unlock the device by swiping my finger upwards.
I of choose have rebooted the phone a few times and this issue just arose when I woke up this morning.

That means you have a super sensitive screen, have you tried unplugging from charger and doing a hard reboot?
looks like the issue sorted itself out and it's back to normal. if it happens again I will go for a hard reset. thanks!!

I also experienced this issue! It seems to happen when the device is charging and return to normal state when I unplug the cable.

yeah this has to be it. same issue this morning. weird that it didn't happen when I charge at home. I was at a friend's place and used his USB plug from an iPhone. must be incompatibility there

definitely has something to do with charging are you guys fully stock or are you on a rom?
I just got my HTC One. I do not want to do anything that voids warranty for the next month or so...just in case a hardware fault shows itself.
The process of hitting the power button on the top of the phone and then unlocking via swiping from the bottom of the screen is a pain.
Is there a tried and tested way to skip one of these steps for HTC One stock sense?
I found this gravity app; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree
and awesome on and off: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=grandmaster.awesomeonoff
On my S2 when I was still on Gingerbread I used 'No- lock'
and recommendations or compatibility issues? ie. Battery drain
Sense 5 had no screen lock option but removed from sense5.5
