Hello
To make a long story short: i deleted the build.prop file located in /system on ny HTC Sensation XL, and then restarted the phone.
Now, when i boot it shows the HTC logo, and then there's just a black screen until i pull out the battery.
I can access the bootloader.

Don't want to ask how that happened LOL.
If you can get to recovery just reflash your ROM
If it's not on your phones storage then mount using CWM and copy the ROM across and then reflash. Wipe cache and dalvik. Don't worry about data and factory reset to start as you may get away with it.
I cant access recovery.
I have been having this problem for about a week, so i gave the phone to one of my moms friends a couple of days ago, he just called and said it worked now, so never mind

So this is just a question as I was browsing through the rom manager program I noticed the HTC Holiday is now listed in their devices.
As I have been researching this phone I believe the phone was referred to as the HTC Holiday
Basically my question is, Is this the device to select or is it referring to an OEM or pre release handset or is it the same as the AT&T Vivid.
I hope that made sense, if not please let me know and I will do my best to make my question more clear.

It is the same phone but I don't know that anyone has used ROM Manager with it. I never used it on any of my other phones because I found it too buggy.
This is the first I have heard of it being listed on there.

I believe it is added as of today, I personally have loved rom manager though I understand your reasons for not liking it. I just want to confirm it is comparable with the AT&T device before putting it on and flashing what ever version of clockwork recovery it has to offer.... (I bought my phone at an early upgrade price so $350 makes me quite a bit cautious with it....)
I just loaded the recovery labeled holiday and you get stuck at the HTC boot screen. Going back to the recovery from the sticky. A later update might fix it.

Thank you for trying and letting me know. I do indeed hope it gets fixed, Rom Manager was always just convenient for me.
I told koush about the issues we are having and he is looking into it.

Its probably obvious but your best bet would be to either get a friends phone to charge your battery or buy an external battery charger....
It's working for me
I have the Vivid and downloaded Rom Manager on a whim. Saw the Holiday, selected it. Tried to backup the Att rom, failed - needed cwm installed. Chose option to let RM flash CWM. The version it put on caused RM to puke when attempting to backup. Flashed CWM v5.0.2.7 from PC. Rebooted and mysteriously lost root. Had to pull the battery a few times during all this.
Rerooted using HTCSupertool, and RM has worked just fine since.
So some flakes, but when ironed out seems OK.
I did a nand backup and a restore just to be sure I could get back and both operations completed without error.
Waiting to get full charge on the phone then will flash first custom rom.

Edit: Too late. Five downloads already.
On a side note, I'm going to try that rom with the Amaze camera first. Just to see if the HORRIBLE audio on videos is impacted.

Hey guys,
I'm sending my phone back to Verizon for a Galaxy Nexus replacement. I thought I was unrooted however I recently discovered CWM Recovery is still on my phone--and working. Also, the root folder still shows up in file managers but it is empty. How can I make sure my phone is absolutely and completely stock before I send it back?

Works perfectly. Never really know why I tried to root this phone. But back to stock for replacement! Thanks Again!
Ok guys, my Sensation XL is currently on Android 2.3.5, and I'm trying to update the firmware to the newest. But my phone is rooted! I downloaded that OTA RootKeeper app and activated it before starting the whole updating process, but for the past...I'd say half hour it's been sitting on the screen with the triange and the Droid mascot. So, does that mean it's slowly working? Or is it just going to sit here until I decide to unplug the phone and give up? I wanna update my phone because there are apps where I need the latest firmware, but I like the freedom of having a rooted phone so I can delete what I dont want and so on.
How long should this update take? Since it is kind of updating a ****load X3 Also, if this doesnt work, I wanna do a complete stock reboot of the phone then try updating the firmware, but I dont wanna loose all my apps, save data, contacts and so on D: Plus will the bloatware I deleted using my root return with a vengeance if I do a Factory Restart? Help me out here, guys D:

If it took longer than 5 minutes, then it is bootlooping. Unlock boot loader, flash custom recovery, s off, flash a custom rom. Then you can have latest, but no matter what, you will loose all your data on the phone except what's on the inbuilt sdcard. Note the contacts are usually synced with you gmail login.

It doesnt have a custom rom on it though D: Is there any sort of app out there where I can backup my stuff to my PC? All I really care about is my contacts and app data (Like browser favorites and a couple of my games data). Or am I really just kinda screwed? X3 Also, I dont have a clue on how to do any of what you just said. X3

There does exsist some apps that can take backup of apps. Look in the sticky threads for guides or you can do it with my aio tool if you are running on a 64 bit windows.

It cant create backup of apps only. It can only create a full backup.
Yes ATM it can only work on 64 bit. Need to change a few thing before it works on 32 bit

I found some good looking ways of updating to the latest firmware, but since I'm a newb I cant actually link them to you so you could give them the thumbs up I'm just getting so tired of having a crappy ass old firmware on my phone now T_T plus I'm hoping the new firmware could fix a few problems. I'm half tempted to just backup my contacts and just factory reboot my whole phone...and live with it not being rooted until the end of my contract. Should I just give up and do that? XD
Hi Guys,
I have recently just got S-Off on my HTC One after several tries, and I was so happy about it. I went then to download Android Revolution HD Google Play Edition to flash on my phone.
I have successfully the rom on my phone without any problem, I even did a wipe with dalvik cache and etc..
The problem is that when I press reboot it goes on to the Boot up screen where it shows HTC One Quietly Brilliant boot up screen with white background, it stays on that for about 20 seconds then it turns off and then reboots into recovery. I do not know what this is happening, could anybody explain to me.
Thank You
Have you tried wiping everything and flashing again? Do a full wipe and five it a try.

Also... did you flash a Kit Kat version? if so, you must flash with TWRP 2.6.3.3, if not then happens that, Kit Kat needs to be flashed with specific TWRP

+1. You just need adb setup, which is usually setup with fastboot.

can someone help me asap please. about an hour ago i was using my phone normally, locked the screen with the button, then a couple minutes later tried to unlock the screen to check my browser but it wouldnt turn on. it was like it turned off. the only way to get it back on was by doing the power plus vol down to go into bootloader. i did that and rebooted everything worked normally on the reboot. i sent a text and locked it. a few minutes later i went to unlock it again to check something but it wouldnt turn on again. this time on the reboot nothing worked. it would reboot and just sit on the screen where it says Viper ROM wtih the red V flashing. i went into recovery and reflashed the rom, now it loaded up, did the "updating apps "x out of xxx" and after that it went to "android is upgrading...starting apps" with the spinning circle on the left. it has been stuck on this screen for about 5 minutes now and the circle is still spinning. what should i do?
edit: ive been on 1.1.0 viper rom for months now, since it first came out and havent had problem up until today. havent messed with any settings or anything. i really am trying to avoid doing a system wipe cause i have important texts i cant lose.
This would be better suited and more likely to be adressed in Q/A or better yet the Viper Rom thread.
