[Q] Rooted ICS question - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

So I recently rooted my Vivid. I have been trying to replace the lock and unlock sounds with root explorer, but I have no idea where the system sound files are. They aren't in the system media folder like before, because I tried replacing the sound files there but it didn't work. Does anyone no where those sound files are?

Ringtones

Can anyone tell me if and how i can get all of the ringtones from the various nexus one roms?
I have used a few different roms on my nexus and in each rom I hear a ringtone that i really like so I want to get all of those ringtones into my current rom (Enom 1.8.1).
So can anyone help me get these ringtones.
Thanks
This should be in the Q&A section.
MOD EDIT - Moved to Q&A
What ringtones, you can push them to /system/media/audio/ringtones
So if i have the roms how do I extract the ringtones from the roms while they are on my laptop. Then I want to place the extracted ringtones on to my phone via usb.
So how do I do this? Is there a guide, a video tutorial, something?
Thanks in advance for the help.
This has been discussed before. Search for guides on how to setup adb, mount the /system/ partition, and push the files to the location above.
You can extract the 'rom' zip file and look in the directory above to get the ringtones.
You can also just copy them to your sdcard and move them over from terminal or file manager.

Change sound file in ROM via root explorer?

Hi, the current SGS JF3 version not allow to change the Calendar notification sound, I wonder can i change the calendar sound file via root explorer (of course my phone is rooted)? Any risk?
Regards
YC
Hi,
I did it without having problems. Just create/choose your own ogg sound file and name it like the originally chosen one and replace the original one.
For me it was /system/media/audio/notifications/22_On_time.ogg.

[Q] Audio/Ringtones/Notification Problem

Recently just installed XXJVO on my SGS, everything is working fine except the fact that alot of my ringtones and notification sounds are missing, since they was already backed up I just copied the folder to System/Media/Audio but it doesn't read them. Just the ones that was there already, I've tried copying the audio folder to the SD card and rebooted my phone several times. If I go to Root Explorer and go the directory all the files are there
Any Ideas how to fix this?

Read somewhere a guide. Don´ t know if this help you out. Create on your sd a Folder called media, in there you create a Folder called audio and in there you create 3 Folders called notifications, ringtones and alarms and put the mp3 files you want in there.

Disable camera shutter sound on LOLLIPOP

hi guys,
big problem:
the camera "shutter sound menu" is not shown on LOLLIPOP!!! i found this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795566
but nothing of this tips will work (no feature.xml, no others.xml AND NO ´/system/csc/´ folder exists. deleting the OGG files in the media folder will also not work). i think this will work on KK only. so i open a new thread for a lollipop-solution.
does a mod exist to enable the camera shutter sound menu ??? I HATE THE CAMERA-SOUNDS (click,click,click,click,click..... and all eyes on you); TERRIBLE!
regards,
chris

nobody an idea????
You can just rename or delete the shutter sound inside system/media.
no way! after restarting the cam-app the files will be replaced.

Thats not true, I've done it. The system cant create a new audio file. Use root explore and rename all the camera click sounds in the system media folder. It really is that easy.

sorry, it doesn´t work. i deleted the files with root-explorer, but the sounds are not silent.
i toke a look into the "samsungcamera3.apk". the sounds are stored in this apk-paket. i think that´s the problem.

This was what I was referring to but you can try wanam xposed for lolipop it has the option to remove the click sound. Requires xposed framework also.
