Launchers

hey, i was wondering whats the best launcher for the 2x.
so far ive tried adw, launcher pro, go launcher ex (still using)
go launcher ex is still the smoothest of them all, but im begining to think it uses quite some battery, what are your experiences ?

I'm using Launcher Pro and I really like it. So far it's been very smooth and I've had no excessive battery draining from using it.
I haven't had time to try out any others yet, my O2x is still a baby

I'm using the LG launcher

Go launcher ex was the best, until after a few nightly builds it went extremley laggy, now on adw ex and so far so good.

GO Launcher EX.
Tried a couple of others, but GO offers the best mix of being fast and flexible.

I'm a fan of ADW EX. Tons of customization available.

im on adw ex right now as well. buts its laggy (not much but still) compared to go launcher ex. lol. and im missing some customizations.. but the theme stuff is quite nice
the bad thing is that i only like launchers with vertical scroll in app drawer
LG home would suffice, but the app drawer is the only place that launcher DOESNT lag at. so lame.

Using go launcher ex with no lag or issues whatsoever.
I'd recommend to all others.
Plus additional downloads of go dialer and go contacts are also worth a download if you're running a custom rom.

[ TW4 and HTC sense are full fladged themes(XDA devs ofcorse !!) in which u get respective launchers.rest are apk files]

Where did you get some of these launchers? I can't seem to find all of them on the market. Which ones did you like?
I'm using Go Launcher at the moment after everybody here recommended it and I like it a lot more than Launcher Pro. Smooth and very customizable.

well...look mate...my personal favr8 would be ADW launcher EX.
but the thing is,most of them are prty good,soo...then everything boils down to ur taste...
currently i am using TW4...simple reason being is that,i have been samsung user through out...so i am more comfertable with touchwiz
and about your querry "where to find it"...
just googled it mate u'll get plenty...try it out...cheers

Another interesting Launcher is Regina 3d.
I don't like it enough to skip my beloved GO Launcher EX, but it's an interesting concept.

Thanks man, I'll try a few of those out. I'm a huge fan of the WP7 interface and live tiles but Launcher 7 is not quite smooth enough for me
I'm going to have a try of the Zune launcher, that looks pretty cool. Thanks.

im using launcherpro since the first day.it gets even better with every update, and if the rewrite is finished it will be awesome i guess..

good choice...Zune is really cool...and yes i am big fan of WP7 UI too !!!
just keep in mind that...u wont be able to put any widgets there...
(but i'll give up on my all widgets to get that look...so simple and eligent,isnt it !!)

[if u like WP7's over all look then if u want u can try out few themes of widget locker lockscreens(few possiblities i've uploaded down for your refrence) as well just to get the whole feel of WP7 on ur 'android' !!! just a suggestion]
1) functional costumised lockscreen
2)WP7 lockscreen !!!
3)samsung galaxy s-II lockscreen
[all the lockscreens are on LG O2X ofcorse !!!]

after using adw ex i went back to go launcher. its just the best (smoothest)

Can someone tell me what is the best launcher ?? Good for system and one who dont use a lot of RAM. I installed ADW Launcher and I have a horrible lag on my phone.Please give me the best launcher + DL link .

Go Launcher EX is the best for me ... It is on Market ...

I prefer LauncherPro. For me it's the best because it's very smooth and only takes about 9 mb of ram!

In ADW Launcher, try changing drawer layout from Vertical to Horizontal Paginated. Less animations = less lag.
Also check setting-- applications-- running service, and see how much memory ADW Launcher is using.
Then try other launchers such as GO Launcher EX / Launcher Pro / QQ Launcher Pro / Tencent Desktop and repeat checking for memory usage.
In my CM 7.2-RC2, QQ Launcher Pro uses around 8 MB of RAM and it has beautiful looks

Zeam launcher is best launcher.

I like GO Launcher cause it gives the opportunity to create directories to organize apps.
Should be really nice if Zeam Launcher supports directories. but for now my choice is GO Launcher

Go to the market and give Go Launcher Ex a try. Best Launcher out there IMO and it is free.
Folders in App drawer, on home screens and in quick launch area as well.

Have you found any other launchers that can do this except go launcher ex? To bad you cant hide the drawer when using it on tablets.

Try SSLauncher, folders were just added, they're called parcels.

[Q] Ice Cream Sandwich alternative launchers?

Hello fellow SGN users,
Now that the official Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 has been released to SGN users primarily in Europe, I would like to find out if there are any alternative launchers that is compatible with ICS or more importantly launchers that strictly run on ICS?
I've seen NOVA and APEX launchers and going to give them a try so i was just wondering if any of you know of any other alternatives?

been testing them both on and off myself, not sure which one i like best, but i dont like that i cant use the s-widgets with them i really like s-planner calender any alternative to that?

I hear GO launcher works.
I bought both Nova and Apex Launcher. I like Apex the best but they are very similar and are hard to tell apart.

Do Apex or Nova allow you to hide the dock?
I'm using ADW EX on 2.3.6 and don't use a dock.
I'm hoping some of the random lagginess switching between screens will disappear once I upgrade to ICS, but if it doesn't I might have to look for another launcher.

I am using ADW. I hate the "new" ADW EX. Flashed official ICS today. ADW ran awful. Very laggy. App drawer scroll kept hanging and the touchscreen was nearly unresponsive on the ADW screens. One widget kept failing to update as well.
Long story short, I flashed back to GB with Franco.kernel #10. Works flawlessly again!
I just don't see any improvement with ICS. Samsung's version looks like GB anyway.

I use GoLauncher EX of the simple reason that it enables 8 rows with 10 columns. I can't get that with either Apex or Nova (they limit at 7 x 7 at most).
GL EX is also pretty similar to good ole LauncherPro and since that has been a trusty launcher for a long period of time, I certainly prefer to have that functionality intact.
But I will give Apex a new chance immediately when 8 x 10 is enabled for the home screen since it is good otherwise but just 7 rows destroys my layout.

Almost without exception, any launcher that works on GB will work in ICS.

i tried nova and apex.. and they are good..
but i don't like them since i can't make folders on the app drawer...

i am using TSF SHELL ! its more smooth and eye candy lol

Of the ICS themed launchers (tried Nova and Apex), I always go back to Nova cos it's smoother for me. Always notice slight jitters on Apex, which is a pity, cos I also quite like Apex's functionality.
(I'm using Nova Prime (paid)).

what's the difference between installing apex and your procedure?

Can any1 give me the link for the stock ics launcher? I don't want to have touchwiz or any other thing, just the pure android ics launcher

I am testing Miui Home Launcher, a lot of themes are avaible.
My favorite is Go Launcher ex and SS Launcher.

Looking for a new launcher to run on my x8, im running minicm9 on nAa ics03 kernel. using apex as my launcher at the moment but its terribly laggy, have tried apex, nova, Trebuchet,
best i had so far was nova launcher but i have a copy of apex pro so dont no if worth paying for the pro unlock key for nova.
Any opinions?

1. Even though you are looking for an app, questions should still be posted in the q&a section.
2. There is a list of recommended launchers here somewhere, look it up using Search.
3. Holo launcher is quite good, you might wanna try it.

360 launcher is the best launcher for ICS & GB. it is smooth & light.

Maybe its because you set the scrolling cache in settings of the launcher low? Put in to the highest & you should see the difference.

I used Apex and trebuchet launchers: Apex i good but trebuchet is more fluid and need less memory when you come back to the home (it needs less time to redraw all the icons)

In ICS used a mod launcher Xperia S, in my opinion was the best option because after changing the build.prop to always keep the cached launcher was fluent and almost no redraw
