[LAUNCHER] Nemus Launcher - LG Optimus Black

I recently discovered the best launcher for Android: Nemus Launcher. I didn't develop this launcher, I am just attempting to spread the word about this wonderful lightweight launcher.
- It is as fast as Zeam and as smooth as 360 Launcher in my opinion, but it offers 9 homescreens, scrollable widget support, and resizable widgets.
- It seems to get updated pretty often, but there isn't much info on the dev's site linked in the market.
- Its made by the same dev as Regina launcher (NemusTech, I think they are Korean).
I will keep this topic update as soon as nemus is updated

thx Psxmaster

hehe if you want say thx click on the thanks button
i say thx to you for info

This launcher is really cool. It has only one problem: there is too much space between the statusbar and the icons. Apart from this, it is one of the best launchers yet.

Yea, i'm using this launcher too and i like it.

for me it's ok that space ...

Nemus (in theory) has a nice function that Zeam was lacking - the ability to sort apps in the drawer. Too bad that it is bugged and can't remember what kind of sort option I chose cause after several drawer openings it all goes back to alphabetic order anyway :/.

Tried this today, it's really quick and I like it a lot but there is no option to change the icons for the dock , might not seem like much but it's a deal breaker for me, also there's no ICS style theme that I can find.
If they add this I'll jump from Go Launcher because it's the only issue I could find.

I find no themes for this...but am using this its a great option to Sony Ericsson launcher...

it is the best launcher. i am using this too. thnx

this is a good launcher indeed, I've been using it for almost a week now...
it does feel fast, and has some features I find very usefull [like uninstalling apps directly from app drawer] and I really like what you can do with the folders [renaming, changing folder color, resize, etc]...
but when you say "low memory usage" what do you mean?? cause if you open settings>apps>running services nemus launcher is over 35mb, when zeam launcher is like 17mb and go launcher is like 10mb...

i think most of Nemus Launcher is ok,but it moves too slow

IMO nemus is the best launcher. Very smooth.

Great launcher..smooth and lighter

great launcher
very fluid and beautiful!

I'm using Nemus for a long time. I really like that i can place my apps (in AllApps) on pages in the way i want (as in stock launcher). I mean, i can place games in on one page, some tools on another and all places don't have to be full, there can be free spaces. It's nice
as to performance, question for people who use nemus:
can you see big difference in animations (fps) after turning on high-quality image?
for my OB with Zeus, anims are not so smooth in hq.
With high-quality image off, everything is ok.

the best launcher for android till now, i tried, shelll 3d,launcher pro,go launcher, but i liked it very much, very smooth 10/10

Indeed, the best launcher till now

so far i was on launcher pro plus.
great launcher and the facebook en tweeter widgets are realy good!
i tried nemus now and indeed realy good launcher.. i'm glad i found Android pro widgets, facebook and tweeter are almost the same as LPP widgets and i didn't want to loose them..
so now i can use nemus together with my favorite facebook/twitter widgets.

Titled Fluxed, it tries to differentiate itself from the regular randomness of Android icons by unifying them to one style while keeping the uniqueness of each app. This theme focuses on subtle colors which will look great on simple wallpapers. At the same time, the custom icons have enough body to hold their own against the craziest backgrounds. Right now over 200 apps are supported, with many more to come.
Fluxed supports HDPI/MDPI/LDPI phones.
I have been working on this theme for a while now, but like any fully-supported app, I’m not done with it. More app icons will be added, along with tweaks and graphic tuneups.
I hope you enjoy Fluxed – please leave me comments here as to what you like, dislike, and want added.
You can find the theme on the Android Market. You can also scan the QR code below to bring you to the market page!
Fluxed is also now available as an iconpack download! Check it out on its DeviantART page to download.

Real nice!! I love the icons!!!!
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Saw this in the market today.. Looks righteous, can't wait for MDPI support. You rock, br0.
When you release the icon pack how can i apply it?? And when can we expect next update?? Just dont go SE on us Hehe. Great theme!
Last week I updated the theme to include an ADW internal iconpack. Now for apps that aren't themed, you can can create custom shortcuts on the homescreen and assign any icon I've made to it. For instance, if you use a 3rd party dialer app, you can create a custom shortcut and change the icon to the Fluxed dialer icon.
I expect to release another update this week. While I don't have ETA's, it seems my update schedule has been weekly.
Hmm weird.. I updated the theme.. but still only icons i have is the normal one from the first release of the theme.

I think the latest update only added the icons to the icon pack feature.
Great theme! Saw this on the market and have been using it for about a week now and still loving it (i tend to change themes/icons pretty frequently). Icons are perfect.
Thanks
Awesome theme! Love it.
Some app icons suggestions:
Stock icons:
torch
Spare Parts
FM Radio
Videos
Some common ones:
XDA App
Photoshop
SMS Notifier

Quickpedia (or a general wikipedia icon)

Yea the last update was only to implement the iconpack for use. No new icons in that one.
This week's update will have a bunch of new icons.
I have themed MY spare parts app, but I have gotten a few people who don't seem to have it work. What one do people use? A market app? A ROM-specific app?
Can anybody help me??? Ive updated my X10 to 2.1, installed the ADW Launcher from the Market (Version 1.2.0.standalone) and now NO themes work! Ive istalled the Fluxed Theme and when i push the Menu Button, i scroll right then the ADW Launcher closed automatically and i have the Homescrreen!(the Menu closed) I have this Problem with all Themes! Only the default theme from the ADW Launcher works! Can anybody help me please??? Thanks!
Love the theme. One of my favourites and appreciate the work put into it.
Would love to see icons for the following if at all possible
Common
System Panel Lite
AndExplorer
RunKeeper
Asphalt5
Nova
PowerAmp
Wikidroid
Uncommon
mp3Tagger Pro
Tripview
Doodle Jump
Keeper
ThinkFree Office
I can definitely add those to my list. One thing about those paid apps, like NOVA and Asphalt, is that I don't own them. I would be glad to make icons, but I don't want to buy a ton of apps just so I can complete themes for them.
If you have access to the Android SDK, and can get me the process/activity names for these apps, I can definitely include them in my theme. Let me know here if you have it set up and I can tell you how to get those for me.
The theme looks excellent!! Can't wait for the icon pack and I think I should go back to ADW.
The iconpack is available for custom ADW shortcuts inside the theme, but not yet available universally for other launchers. I'm thinking sometime after I release the MDPI version of the theme I will release the icons separately.
when i install and open this them on HTC Wildfire with CM 6.1-nythly&patched market a take FC of ADW.
I haven't found this to happen, but I have seen a few people comment on this on the Fluxed market page. As another commenter has said, try uninstalling Fluxed, restart ADW.Launcher (available at the bottom of ADWSettings) and reinstall the theme.
Hope this helps!
Absolutely excellent. If my homescreen wasn't designed to be completely minimal and Zun/WP7y, I'd use it
I LOVE these Icons. the dock not so much. tried to mod it for personal use but didnt get it to take. still, love it a lot.

{**NOTE BEFORE BUYING**}
A drop of Charlie Sheen's semen, and a 7 gram rock, were infused in this theme.
Seriously though, this theme is intended for rooted devices running a custom rom with the theme chooser app pre-installed. Soon there will be standalone GO Launcher Themes, but currently, this is for Theme Chooser only. Providing you are running a rom with theme chooser installed, all you have to do after installing the theme is go to the theme chooser app and select the theme.
That being said, Tigerblood is the culmination of hundreds of hours of theming of a multitude of apps and launchers. Essentially, it is a compilation of several standalone themes I've done including GO Launcher EX, GO widgets, and a multitude of system apps and elements including the system framework, pulldown, all major notifications and most of the most popular market apps including
GO Launcher EX

This is what was asked for so....
Anyone can slap together a theme with new borders and slight xml changes. This is far and away the most detailed theme on the market. The only thing even remotely close is Mixer and it's got roughly 40% of what's themed with mine.
You have no idea how awesome this theme looks on your phone unless it is actually on it. Wow! Its amazing. No one has the level of detail and gradient hue and shading in a theme chooser theme as this Lawson has in this one. The in call dialer alone is to die for. If you can't pony up for this then you are deserving of the lack of quality in a theme that is on your phone.
Love it. Thanks big time Lawson. I never thought a theme chooser theme could look like this.

Nova Launcher Prime... I am on LC ICS Rom (4.1.1).
I like backup ability and also editing / changing the icons... Fast & Stable.
i prefer adw launcher because there is the possibilty to remove the dock bar!

I love Adw for rapidity
But golauncher for possibility
And nova for ics projection... ;-)

I'm going to have to go with GO Launcher EX. Mostly because of the deadspace theme I have. If i could port that theme to another launcher I'd try it.
I had some issues with NOVA and APEX (though, supposedly sorted out with the paid version, which i'm not going to do).
GoLauncher Ex rulez.
I like Nova Launcher Prime... its Fast & Stable for ICS.
Nova Launcher. Works great at LC Icecoldsandwich!

[Tips] Launchers for better experience

I've been using CM10 since the first build and I came to the conlusion, that a custom launcher can make a huge difference in the overall experience.
Although I write this thread mainly with CM10 in mind, it also applies to CM7.
The first launcher I've found great is FTL Launcher.
The homescreen is really fast as light, but it is a really basic experience.
I like simplicity, so I love the the possibility to hide the dockbar's background and being able set the dock icons' size to small. (Pro only)
The only thing I don't really like is that the only way to resize a widget is to set its size before adding it to the homescreen. Also, it is a Pro only feature.

The app drawer is as simple as it looks. The scrolling is vertical. The homescreen works like charm but the app drawer I've found a bit sluggish.
The best thing about this launcher dispite its flaws is its lightness. After restart I had 60MB of free RAM, yes, on CM10. Later it dropped down to 55-40MB but it is still pretty good. It uses about 10-14MB of memory.
The second launcher is Lightning Launcher.
This one still amazes me. It is the lightest launcher I've ever seen with its 828KB yet it has tons of feature.
A few things I really like: the homescreen can be horizontal, vertical or both at the same time. You can drop icons and widgets everywhere and freely scroll on the screen. One cool thing is the icons are rotatable.
But here comes the best thing, the "Free Mode". If you turn it on, there is no grid. You can place anything anywhere.
In the app drawer you can hide icons (they go to a new tab) and even the background can be displayed. The fast experience applies to the app drawer too.
After a restart I had 55-50MB of free RAM with this launcher and it stays at that level. It uses only 9.6MB of RAM. :good:
The third one is for only those who can sacrifice performance for awesomness.
It is Next Launcher. It is made by the authors of GO Launcher.
This one is a real eye-candy. Full of fancy transition effects.
The developers say one need a phone with dual-core cpu to run it, but I'm still amazed how smooth it is on my Milestone and this launcher is still beta. I didn't find landscape mode, maybe it is not implemented yet.
But here comes the bad news, it is designed to new phones. Our CPU can handle the stuff but it uses around 22MB of RAM. I only have 45-20MB of free RAM with this launcher.
I've tested Smart Launcher. (Thanks to fellow member pt0.)
This one is quite unique. After the first start, you will be asked for you for favorite app for listening to music, calling your friends, etc., and after it is done, you will get 6 nice, holo-styled icon. These icons are shortcuts to the apps, you selected in the first step. Of course, you can add more or delete these icons.
The homescreen looks like this:
I like the option to hide these icons by default and only show them when you touch the middle of the screen.
A homescreen can't be more minimalistic than this:
The app drawer separates your app into different categories, like: games, internet, settings, etc.
This launcher eats 12-13MB of RAM.
I love the clean and minimalistic look of this launcher, but it ties the users hand. It gives some nice features, like the left-handed option, but in general, there is not enough room for customization. (At least for me, I love to customize all my stuff for my needs)
The biggest drawback is the lack of widget support. (In the paid version you can enable it, but the app says it will increase the memory need by 10-20MB and it's just not worth it, imo.)
Xperia Z Launcher
( If you'd like to try it, check out THIS thread )
This is a port of the latest Xperia Launcher from the new Xperia Z. It only works on ICS and JB, but works on those quite well.
With icons and widgets all around it stays fast and snappy. My favorite is the weather widget, it's a real eye-candy and looks great on any background.
In the app drawer sadly there is no option to hide items but they can be easily put in a folder and the option to sort them freely is pretty useful.
There is not as much option for customization as in other launchers I've mentioned here, but it works great on kabaldan's great CM9 and CM10 roms.
It consumes 15MB of memory on my phone with widgets and icons on three homescreen tabs.
Lightning Launcher is very nice, i also test it.
i use the ssLauncher and its very fast and smooth, i love the customizeing features
Great suggestions!
Personally, I am loving Lightning Launcher. My apps drawer has been customised to show only icons, and I adore the ability to hide apps in a different page of the drawer as it makes the hidden apps accessible. I have edited my homescreen such that there seems to be a vertical dock on the right side of my screen. The RAM usage is awesomely low as well.
I doubt I will be switching to other launchers soon on my Milestone.
Erovia and others, do you use these light launchers with swap enabled to free up the ram to this level?
Yes, I use 32MB swap with swappiness set to 15. (FuFu's script's default values, bigger swap can cause huge lags)
i use ssLauncher on CM7 and i have 66mb free ram in normale use... have 32mb swap, swappiness 15...
also a nice Launcher i think is the "Lagacy Launcher", i use it on CM9 on my second stone ^^ and there i have about 58mb free ram in normale use, also 32mb swap
Smart Launcher
There is another one I found - quite light and minimalistic: Smart Launcher
Maybe placing widget is little bit weird, but it depends on personal preferences.
i like the adw launcher, the new is very good and very fast.
Thanks for sharing Xperia Z Launcher! Very smooth and fast.
So far I have installed Xperia keyboard and the launcher. If I continue installing Xperia's stuff on my Milestone, who knows how my mobile ends up
I'm a noob, so thank-you in advance for your patience with me.
Do these launchers completely REPLACE the default Android home tool, or do they work ON TOP of it?
What I'm really getting at: will I have the maximum remaining memory if I don't use ANY of them?
Thanks again.
In Android nearly anything is an app, even the launchers. If you have more than one installed you will be asked which one would you like to use as default. Only the actively used one is loaded to the memory and you can change back to the previous one anytime.
If you don't use any launcher....I don't know what you will be able to do. You will not have icons and app drawer so basically you can't start any other app. If you'd like to have the lightest launcher, I recommend you the Lightning Launcher.
I'm used on milestone Nemus Launcher. Beautiful, smooth and light launcher
thank you
I am using TSF Shell on Milestone with CM9 and surprisingly its smooth as butter. Much much better then other 2D launchers.
These are really cool.
Might try some.
"LG Venice" Very useful info. Thank you. I switched from go launcher to rabbit launcher. I still like go launcher a lot for It's themes. Rabbit is using 30-40mb for me. But I have a little more to spare. It's cause I like go keyboard and locker too..And live wallpapers.

Codecrusher's black theme...and settings
(I don't have the time to write all instructions at once so please be patient, I'll update this post during the day.)
[My english is very rusty. If you want to suggest improvements and corrections drop me a PM]
If you want your zenfone 2 to look the same as mine you have to change a significant amount of things.
Some changes requires root or particular extensions but nothing is mandatory and you may decide to follow only some steps of my instructions.
From what I've read and from my experience steps 1-2-3-4-5-6 will not have any significant impact on battery life or performance while steps 7-8-9 (which are related not only to appearance) should improve your battery life.
So....assuming that you begin with your stock Asus Theme....let's start!
1.Set Wallpaper
Wallpaper Link (credits to TOBIAS ROETSCH)
In order to simplify the process, I suggest to apply it from the Asus Homescreen>>Long tap on empty space >> wallpaper >> Home and lockscreen.
PS As you can see in my screenshots, my wallpaper is slightly different from the one available on the link and this is because I've added a little of stars on top and a little of dark on the bottom. I'm not posting my version because I'm waiting for the authorization of the autor but my work is only a little of raw copy and paste...
2.Change DPI
This smartphone has a beautiful and wide screen but the icons and the status bar were way too big for me...it looked like a toy with big buttons and magnified textboxes..
First install ADB (there are plenty of installing guide on the net. If you don't have time to read all that stuffs I've found an installer here on XDA but I didn't tried it before, let me know if it works good ADB installer link).
Then follow this guide and change DPI (it uses ADB): http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/tip-adjusting-dpi-root-t3098690
I suggest to try with DPI between 360 and 400 (default is around 480). Mine is 380.
Give it a try, for me this is the most important change for a better aspect of our Zenfone. If you are not happy it is completely and easily reversible as explained in the second guide.
PS Be aware that a few apps show some strange behavior with custom DPI. Known issues:
-some third party keyboards show bigger and unusable keys [The stock Android and Asus keyboards work fine]
-Whatsapp cannot cut images before sending it [but I cut them before with the editor of the gallery].
3.CHANGE LAUNCHER
You can also continue without substituting launcher but then you will not be able neither to change all your icons nor to perfectly stretch your widgets.
I didn't want to change launcher but in the end I was forced to install an otherone for 2 main reasons:
- with the stock launcher you are not allowed to change all icons (even with the preinstalled Asus app).
- with the stock launcher you cannot manage the grid of homescreen where you put widgets
I've installed Nova Launcher.
4.ICON PACK
The icon pack I'm using is called "flight" (or "Volo") and it's available on the play store.
I've bought the complete version but the free version does perfectly its job.
Apply the theme and then manually change all the icons that were not automatically replaced (if the icon of your app is not available choose one you like from the hundreds of icons available).
PS I've used "flight icon pack" but there are a lot of black and white minimal icon pack available on the play store....just look for "black and white icon pack" or similar.
Just some hints:
- white icons whit round background >> "Gel - Icon Pack"
- minimal white icons >> "Min - Icon Pack"

5.WIDGETS
First screen: no widget, only icons.
Second screen: Jack's music widget. (I've tried Universal Music Widget but it crashes all the time)
Third screen: Stock Asus Meteo Widget
Forth screen: Simple Calendar Widget (it is fully customizable and I'm working to get an even better look.)
Fifth screen: no widget, only icons.
If you have patience and time and want to produce similar widgets you will also like "zooper" or "minimalistic text" (available on the play store).

6.ORGANIZATION

7.[root required]EXTENSIONS
I've used extensions to:
-remove battery icon from statusbar
-add network speed information on statusbar
-add seconds to the clock on the statusbar
-add a download bar integrated on top of the statusbar
-add useful buttons and features to the power menu
-improve battery performance
[coming soon]
8.[root required]GESTURES
With the use of a third party launcher you will loose the double tap to sleep feature but not the double tap to wake.
I've used third party gestures software in order to restore this features and add other useful gestures.
[coming soon]
9.OTHER
-change whatsapp background with this one (open a chat in WA and then options>>background)
[coming soon]

Please, post link of theme. I like it.
nice theme
Ok!
It's not a "real theme" because I've modified dpi, changed the aspect of the status bar and other things that one cannot change with a simple "theme".
I'm going to edit my first post and add instructions. Follow all the steps and you will get the same results.
Double tap
Do you lose the double tap wake/sleep functions when you use another launcher?
yes den u need to use status bar to make it sleep

The double tap to wake is always available.
The double tap to sleep can be restored using Nova Launcher itself (double tap on status bar or double tap on home button if associated to greenify) or any other gestures third party app. However I'll write down all the different workarounds I've found...
I've seen 2 interesting xposed modules that can change the icons and the grid on home.
I'm going to test them. If they work there is no need to change the stock launcher.
