[Q] Unlock issue(galaxy S I9000)

I need some serious help guys. I've been trying to unlock my phone for about 2 days and until today I wasn't able to connect to my computer(had the wrong cord). Now I have successfully rooted my phone but am unable to get the apps I need because I can't access the android market place. The reason I can't is because the phone is locked to bell and I purchased it from a friend and now need to unlock it so that I can use it on telus. Really stuck here. I've been using this video as a guide but once the galaxy unlock apps show up, I am unable to continue because I haven't found a way to get them on my phone!! Please help... many thanks..... I realize now I can't post the link but it is called "Unlock Samsung Galaxy S from stock Android 2.2 Froyo". I found it on this site.
Very confusing here.
Unlocking is not related to the connection on your pc.
So what you have to do.
Root your phone with a kernel (CF root) or another kernel.
Then you will get access to the superuser (root)
Only with that you are able to unlock you phone with a special app.
Access to market you will also get trough wlan. Or you have to load you apk´s directly from you computer to the sgs.
Read the manual if it will not work or read xda.. (kies, usb probklems ect..)
Okay, so I used superoneclick to root my phone. I now have superuser available on my phone now. My real issue is accessing the app that unlocks the phone because I am unable to access the market. The reason I can't access the market is because the phone itself has no data services and is not currently on a network(although it is locked to Bell).
I guess what I need to know is how to load the apk directly from my computer to my phone.. and how do I get the apk's without having a google account connected to the sgs? Thanks for the response
Have you tried to use WiFi?
Yea, I have... I'm unable to access any internet or data through the phone!
Give me your email and i can send you the apk.
But to be honest. I'm sure you will find that on google

[Q] superoneclick

Hello im looking for some info with the optmius 2x (p990) and superoneclick rooting program.
They are-
ONE can you use this to "unlock" your phone? as in us it with diffrent carriers and what not?
Can you remove it if you want?
i have looked around but noting came up with the exact model and unlocking, im sorry i am quite new at the android scene but i do somewhat know the just of it.
No, ir does not unlock your phone. It gives you root permissions, it like administration permissions in windows, so you can install and do a bunch of stuff otherwise you wouldn't be able to.
I don't know how to unlock the phone but if it was easy to do I guess I'd already know

For unl**k all sim could probably work this way
try change rom with smartflash and replace file .ap e .cp and erase entire AP
(erase entire AP command delete all information imei etc ... to rewrite only imei. I have tested and work on p990 because for error I have press on erase AP : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20815755&postcount=26)
this program rewrite the file baseband (network) and get open market software
I'm not sure that it works, and not sure if it is legal!
For all I know, all Android devices are unlocked.
A friend of mine bought a Nexus S locked to a certain network provider in Portugal, got home and just stuck a Vodafone Portugal SIM card in and voilá!, worked without a problem.
Even if it wasn't this easy, you can always flash your BB to a open version, so I really don't see any issue for unlocking a device.
Don't forget: rooting and unlocking are two different things...

[Q] razr i problems - fastboot menu

Hi guys, I am having an issue i cant seem to resolve on my razr i. apologies if this has already been covered in another thread (or 10, which is usually the way with these things because nobody reads the other threads) I have been through a load of other threads but cannot seem to resolve my issue so i started my own.
Right, I have switched from iphone to razr and am not stupid when it comes to jailbreaking etc so thought rooting the razr wouldnt be a problem. when trying to root it it failed and i am stuck at the fastboot menu, however, everything on the menu is disabled so i cant use it. i get the usual message:
fastboot reason: flash failure
fastboot max download size: 100mb
usb connected
if i try to use anything on the menu i get the following message:
fastboot menu disabled.
my phone is not unlocked and not rooted. i have barely done anything to it other than install a couple of free apps. i am unable to progress past this screen. the phone is GB and is on 4.0.4
any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. again, apologies if this has already been covered, none of the solutions i found were able to resolve my issue. as i said, i had no problems jailbreaking my old iphone, i am a bit of a n00b when it comes to droids...

Are you able to run fastboot commands ? Cause in that case you might be able To unlock bootloader and reflash the software .

I am not able to do anything. if i scroll to any of the options on the menu as soon as i hit the volume up key it just returns a message advising the fastboot menu is disabled.
**edit

Had the same problem, I used the recommendation in this thread, 5th post and it worked, but afterwards need to re-download apps from PlayStore:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36612151
Follow the instructions exactly - you need the drivers and RSD lite on Windows PC, then connect the phone via usb cable that came with it; and you'll need a full unzip program (cost) so you can move the unzipped files into RSD lite. Get the right flash file though - there's a list in the linked post if you don't want GB retail which I used. Important: this only works for ICS 4.0.4 and don't try to downgrade to an earlier version than what's currently on your phone e.g. v.39 to v.31, for example.
Good luck.
AW: [Q] razr i problems - fastboot menu
If the solution from mervluk does not work (It didn't work for me either) , you should try if you are able to use the fast boot commands .
To do that simply connect your phone to the PC. Then download fast boot , if you do not already have that. It is in the .zip from the RAZR I root thread.
The go to the downloaded folder. There hold shift and perform a right mouse click. Then choose" start a command prompt here "or something similar (don't know how the option is called in English).
Then type in
fastboot reboot
When the phone reboots you might be able to unlock your phone and flash the software.
BUT BE AWARE! YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WARRANTY!!
So you better try the other solution first. This should be your last option.
If you don't know how to unlock the bootloader look in the RAZR I forum or pn me .

Glad about that. This phone can be a bit of a so-and-so. ics is being updated ota to Jelly Bean 4.1.2, which I've avoided so far to keep fm (although not activated on the supplied software). I did succeed with unlocking the bootloader (loose warranty - important) following the whole complicated procedure on Moto's website - but couldn't myself use the shortcuts on here. (Then had to set up again and re-download everything from the PlayStore). It required the Moto-supplied key. I then rooted, though I think the JB ota download unroots again? You can't use RSD lite with JB.
With JB the procedures are different, and a modified JB European (not for use with GB) firmware is now available on another thread which is impressing some posters. But I think just be a bit cautious as there does not appear to be any fix for the "service code corrupt" bootloader error yet. Looks like the options are very restricted whilst no-one understand the interaction between Google Android and the intel atom chipset.
I have a network unlock key from one of the commercial suppliers (cellunlocker.net), but haven't needed to try and use it yet!

install international firmware on EVA-AL00 (+ some issues)

Hi everybody, I'm new on xda and I just received my P9, chinese version. Great phone by the firt impression, but after a some time spent configuring it I still have some "issues":
- I'm not able to download the googe dialer and contacts apps from the play store
- I only receive notifications from some apps (ie whatsapp and facebook) if they are opened in the multitasking (I know, there is already at least one thread on this topic but I didn't found any solution)
- I can't find a way to change the action associated to the long press of the home button and get rid of hi voice (I reallt want to try now on tap)
If anyone know how to individually solve these problems please tell me
Anyway, hoping to solve them and get rid of all the little residues of chinese language, I'm thinking of trying to install the international firmware: first of all, is it possible? From what I've read I must flash the oeminfo and the dload files, so I suppose that after unlocking the bootloader I have to install TWRP, do I also have to root the phone?
Last thing, how can I backup the current oeminfo and firmware in case anything goes wrong or I decide/need to revert the process?
Thanks for the attention and sorry for my english
Come on guys, can anyone help me?

I have the same problem! I would like to flash the international firmware but I can't find any tutorial. Someone can help us?

Desperate for some help.... Huawei P9 - AL00 Chinese phone
Hi guys,
BUMP this thread.
I too have a Huawei P9 - AL00 - EVA AL00C00B176 - EMUI 4.1 on android 6.0 | I would like to flash the phone with an L09 European firmware (standard). I've been reading through a lot of threads and here is what I've done so far:
used the DC unlocker to unlock my phone and get bootloader code - successful
used the SRKtool to try install TWRP (to get root). It says installed but I cannot boot to TWRP - just boots normally or boots into erecovery - have tried installing TWRP via three methods - fastboot, SRK, Paulobreun, "spanish one", etc. None have worked so far. Have tried switching phone off, on with volume up + power button. NOTHING.
SRK tool is excellent but haven't been able to get past root - ADB server WAITING FOR DEVICE. Fastboot mode is the only mode that seems to work - have once been able to get SRK tool to load correctly in Debug mode.
Have the phone in debugging mode and have tried using the *#*#2846579#*#* to set to manufacturing mode - waiting for device endures. ONLY DC Unlocker seems to connect properly once in manufacturing mode * note - I don't have OEM unlocker option in Debugger.
Please can someone assist guys like us to get these awesome phones working as needed
Many thanks,
The_JooP
It is Volume DOWN + power button. Not up.
And if you have SRK tool, there is a Utility menu where you can boot your phone in Recovery, Bootloader and eRecovery mode.
The AL00 actually has the latest and quickest updates. It just updated to B183 yesterday.
If you want the European version, I think you should re-brand your phone before you flash any European firmware.
There is a tutorial for re-branding:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/vdo-guide-how-to-debrand-huawei-phone-t3410045
Up this thred!
I'm in the same situation with AL-10 Chinese version.
Want to flash Europe/international version.
I downloaded SRK tool and saw there that oeminfo for EVA-L29 is not available.
After flash oeminfo/wipe I can flash the version by dload?

Accordingly to the TWRP installation guide, many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot, so After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo (Volume UP, no need power button in this case) and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install. (source: https://twrp.me/devices/huaweip9.html)
So, you shouldn't let your phone reboot "normally", but you must force it to reboot on TWRP from the beginning.

Volume DOWN is for fastboot, but for enter in recovery mode, Volume UP is correct.

I solved this issue with the right settings in the Permission manager: you have to launch the Permission manager, choosing the Facebook, Whatsapp,... or the application you need to get notifications and be sure that is selected the option "App auto-launch" (in this case if the app is not open in multitasking, it will be by herself).
You have also to be careful to the Phone Manager application (is not a Settings option, is just an application herself) because has the "Power usage firewall (power-intensive apps)" function that if is not well setup, it literally kills the application that are running on background. So in the case you need notifications, you need to allow functions like "System wakeup" and "Keep running after screen off". "Power-intensive prompt" is good to be disabled in the case of whatsapp-like applications.

I also tried everywhere and I didn't found anything. I will try to search if there is any system file that could be modified (of course, will be necessary to have rooted phone).
NOTE:
I have an EVA-AL00 (Chinese version) but I keeped the stock rom and most of the application (I just removed the 100%chinese-unusefullhere applications). I honestly didn't found any big issue that push me to change to an international rom, but if for any reason I will decide to install it, you will be the first to know.

The main point to me is about the integration of the softwares.
I basically use Google for everything. But when you have the Chinese ROM, Uber for example will launch Baidu maps instead of Google's. The MI Fit app, to use with Mi band will not be integrated with Google fit, but other chinesse app. It wouldn't be a problem if the app has English or PT-BR support, but most of the time they don't.

If the app is only in Chinese language or is only based with chinese services I really recommend to uninstall it (you can do the normal Uninstall procedure with most of Apps), apps that I uninstalled immediately are for example Videos (Huawei Videos), HiWallet, HiPay, Baidu, Vmall and few others that had chinese name.
I just tried to use Uber and it launches correctly Google Maps. Of course, I repeat, you have to uninstall Baidu.
If you use Google for everything, probably you are also using Chrome. In this case the stock (Chinese) browser cannot be uninstalled (because is a system app) but instead of "Uninstall" you can "Disable" it (same menu for uninstalling, just different text): after disabling it, Chrome (or any other browser) will became the default one.
Just double checked on my Huawei P9 EVA-AL00C00B183 (but I'm sure is the same with B176 also)
P.S.
I don't know MI Fit, but if we are speaking about the Xiaomi application, we are speaking about a completely different (and quite off topic) smartphone philosophy.

I found google dialer is very hard to install in non-Nexus devices and I suppose for the P9 will be the same. I didn't try 3rd parties dialers, yet, but I want to do as soon as possible. Anyway the stock dialer is working well, except for the "Yellow pages" junk, which has only the title translated and all the rest is Chinese only
Huawei P9 recovery is weird, hold power + vol up is Huawei's eRecovery, power + vol down is FASTBOOT, and power + vol up + vol down is TWRP, hope this helps anyone.
has anyone tried using the OTA links to force update to Nougat on the AL00?
I've been wanting to update my AL00, but the OTA links all seem to be for the international versions (L09/L19) so i just want to know if they'll work for an AL00..

LGv40 freezing/ having hard time to get to the home screen . Any help ?

Hi
I have bought a used lg v40 v405ua variant written on box ( which doesnt show sprint or at&t logos/ bloatware or branding) ; I bought it as stuck in bootloop .
I do not know if before it was flashed to this model , or anything else.
After some patience and a number of factory reset I've managed to go over the red lg logo bootload screen freeze, go through the initial settings page and with wifi OFF and no simcard in to arrive to the home page , without freeze ;
I was also able to navigte settings , and to switch to developer / enable oem unlock ON , and usb debugging ON.
I was able to get IMEI , to see it runs Android 9 after factory reset , to read it is v405ua variant , to enter camera and take a pic .
The phone is currently On shows time and date on double tap and I am able still to navigate it into settings with no slow down or freeze .
If I navigate or get into some app with wifi off , or equally if I turn on wifi and it starts exchanging data or updating (?) , then it slows down instantly, usually stuck on a black screen and the 3 android buttons downside , sometimes I am able to push power button and use power menu to turn it off , the majority of times it is freezed and it needs volume down + power button to restart ;
any restart will get it to the lg red logo boot screen , and freeze there ( and I will need to try factory reset/erase ).
I am no expert at all on android/mobiles/recoveries , I can't imagine if it is software that is corrupt or if it is an hardware problem or what else .
I 've read many different threads about unlocking bootloader , rooting (or changing model and else), and I am not sure as there are many options
what should I try from here ?
ps a side information : if I turn on Bluetooth the icon in the tiles menu' blinks on and off , or when I enter the bluetooth activation page and switch it on it remains a pale blue >> in the meanwhile the phone cant see or be seen by any other bluetooth device .
Any help ? thanks all of you who can help me this out
I recommend you start from scratch.

Use LGUP and Download mode to flash the latest version (Oreo or Pie) of the V40 OS to the phone.

started here :good:https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-lgup-root-t3967858
Download These FIles: DLL LGUP UI_Config
v40 with no root ( my case ) :
Step 1. Install the provided LGUP.msi (you should now have C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP)
Step 2. Install the provided DLL (you should now have C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\Common)
Step 3. Extract the LGUP_UI_Config_m250n_[cxz].zip file anywhere on your computer, then copy or move the file to the common folder (the same one the DLL installs too)
Step 4. Enter download mode and flash any KDZ that is compatible with your device with the Refurbish or Upgrade options.

I did 1. 2. 3.
not sure which "compatible" KDZ should I get , as I don't know which v405UA model is my v40 , .. : supposely there's more v405UA ( different?) models and different KDZ for different v405UA models too ?

My recommendation is to cross flash over to the US version (unless you are not in the US).
Grab either the Oreo or Pie version here:
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmv405qa-firmwares/
[NG]Owner
I am not in the US ( I am in EU )
I am ready at step 3.
OEM developer and USB debugging are switched on , I don't know if I need something else .
+ I still need to understand which "compatible" ( as stated in the lgup thread ) KDZ , among many , to flash it with lgup , and then try the procedure .
no luck until now trying with LGUP 1.15 or 1.16
installed both but they do not start / do not show anything any dialog window any app any alert

That usually means a driver issue. I think you have to have the phone plugged into and recognized by the computer beforre anything will show in LGUP.
As for the kdz, these are the European kdzs: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmv405ebw-firmwares/
[NG]Owner
it was an Antivirus ( AVG )
at least , I removed it and then all went straight .
I flashed it with the v405QAe20 kdz with lgup 1.16 - refurbish option . very fast and straight .
Now I have "v405UA20e" listed settings / phone / software ( no v405QA20e as expected ) and should probably try flashing it to a european version (?)
New problem though ........ the phone doesn't freeze anymore , but now it shuts off on his own from time to time
where to go from here ? root ?

It depends dude, are you trying to use it in EU? If yes then it'd be a good idea to flash a stock rom from that area. It enables radios/bands that are used in your area so that you'd have no issues calling/texting or i'net.
The post right above yours links to the appropriate ROMs for you so you should have all you need.
After you've flashed the ROM, I'd do a factory reset, in the settings app, not in recovery unless you have the original email info, otherwise you might trigger FRP and you wouldn't wanna do that. This might help with your reboot issue, in fact I'd do it twice in a row just in case.
There you go, you're all set.
I did the factory reset. Problem is ( new...completely) phone have hard time in recharging now......this is *completely new* problem. it came out of nowhere only after last self-switch off( and after flashing the new firmware v405uae20) ; before never showed it . When it was off and I plugged it (before the flash), the phone always got the battery icon showing in the center of the black screen /with the percentage of battery reached.
Now it doesn t.
Or it is an hit and miss ( and it doesn't depend on charger or failing usb port) . Before this the phone has remained alive 4 days without much use and no simcard in, without issues
