Have you been seriously hurt in an accident?

I got in a motorcycle accident yesterday and it made me think how easily I could have been killed. All I was thinking about was my inspire 4g and how it cracked in that accident. So I'm wondering have you been in accidents. How were you hurt?

I was saved from any serious injury because.of my hit air vest. The vest inflates when I am ejected off of the bike, kinda like an airbag

It's called hit air. Google that. It's uses a CO2 cartridge that I usually buy from walmart. I'll see if I can find a youtube video

I haven't been in any car accidents or anything, but this is the worst accident I've had: half of a sewing needle broke off in my knee. Pics, so it did happen lol. Anybody want me to post the aftermath pictures (Post surgery)?

Glad to hear your ok.....
I was on a bus that crashed once....
The driver had a heart attack of the motorway and ploughed into one of the roadside overhead signs....
Lots of broken glass, screaming women and children, nobody was seriously hurt except for the driver who had to be cut free as he was pinned I'm his seat by the sign he hit.
After we got out through one of the windows most of us were helping others down because it was quite a drop but some dude started taking photos straight away without doing anything to help so this other guy went over, grabbed his camera and smashed it on the floor
The guy across the aisle from me got cut up really bad because the windows on that side all smashed and showered them with glass and I couldn't help thinking about how lucky I was to have sat on the other side....
I was pissed because id paid nearly £200 for a ticket to see cream and thought I wasn't going to make it. Luckily though after 3 hours in Watford A&E I just made it to london on time....
@mtm... There was a news article about it with a pic but I can't find it so it didnt happen

Few years ago dad was riding into London, behind a MPV in stop go traffic.
A woman coming the other way didn't see him behind the MPV, thought it was a gap in the traffic and floored it to turn down the road beside him.
He was sent flying, bruised lungs, damaged shoulder and broken pelvis.
Thankfully there was a doctor in the car behind so the ambulance was sent out with a better idea of what to expect.
They had to resuscitate him several times on the road.
His pelvis will never mend fully, and for about 6 months when he sat down he said it felt like his organs were falling out through his pelvis.
He now walks bow legged with a slight stoop.
Initially the woman tried to deny liability but eventually pleaded guilty, getting a measly 3 points and £60 fine for nearly killing someone (in the UK the car is the best murder weapon with the lowest penalty).
He did get a reasonable insurance payout thankfully but that did take nearly 4 years.

Haha yeah I actually got hit by a car when I was 7. I also lived on a street that has a brick road. So...? Not too great of an outcome.

Hello friends I have been here on xda reading and posting for a while. I feel that the people here are very helpful and kind. I feel we could help.each other with any thing. Cell phones. Girlfriends. Money. Advice. Anything is possible thanks to all of us. I made a utube video with my girlfriend last nite. And right before we got it on I was taping it with my waterproof defy. She made a comment that she didn't want me to take it cause it would end up on the internet. So I made a joke about not putting her face on it. It went over very well we had a good moment it was fun. So today I placed it on utube so she could she it on her phone. I also told her I was gonna get big hits because I was gonna send it to all my friends. And she laughed @ me a lil bit more then alot. So I sent it to every1 I knew. Apparently I only know 39 people including myself. So now jokes on me. Im hoping xda friends and reader can get me some more views to shut her up. If not take a look @ a pretty lady @ least. Please be nice and leave a funny comment or least thumb it up. Thanks for reading and looking. M_T_M closed the last thread saying it would lead to gun control arguments or something, although nothing like that was ever mentioned. He asked nobody create a new thread about it so just a heads up he will probably close this one too. That said, I have been thinking about the families and those affected all day. I have a friend that just moved to CO and first thing I did this morning was call him because I was not sure what part he had moved to exactly.
Edit: Wow at your speed test, that's amazing.

If it needs to be closed all is well.. I just felt like I should do something. The thing I hate most about this life is that stuff like this happens and there's usually nothing you can do about it.

Believe me we appreciate the sentiment.
I was going to allow it and monitor for any trolling/inappropriate response however I must respect M_T_Ms previous decision and follow suit.
Of course we are all deeply sympathetic and our thoughts go out to those affected, however I would not like to see such a poignant and well intentioned thread ruined by trolls.

Broken collarbones

Not really the place for medical research, but works boring me to tears so I thought I'd throw this out there.
Broke my collarbone a few years back and it never really recovered. It give me massive grief this time of year once the weather turns. Anyone got any ideas what I can do about it?

I have the same issue albeit with my ribs. Barring going to the doctor.....I usually just get drunk. Works every time.

Heat. old injuries really hate the cold.
Try heatpatches or tiger balm. Also, as was suggested before, a proctologist can help you as well.

Ask your proctologist to apply Tiger Balm. That should sort you right out.

Isn't that similar to deep heat?
Been to the doctors this morning and they've said the only course of action other than permanent pain relief is to re break it and put a pin in!

Are you telling us that you didn't see a doctor when it originally happened? Because it sounds like your collarbone healed wrong. If it did, they're right, re-breaking it is the only way.

"Never really recovered" and "I'm an idiot because I broke my bloody collarbone and didn't see a doctor" are two entirely different things.

No, when I did it I was 17, they said there wasn't a great deal they could do with it at the time as the bone was to small to operate on, they put it in a really stiff sling that was somewhat like a removable cast to.hold it still, but every time I moved or was jolted the bone would move, so it took around 3 months to finally start fusing and another couple to heal fully, left me with a huge lump in ky shoulder where it should be, now the bone sits lower and further back ( or at least a big chunk of it does)

I read "never really recovered" as I never bothered to get it looked at (which in my case with my ribs is completely applicable)

And it is amateurish for sure. It's mostly meant to offend me and insinuate lies as truth. I'm am a romanychal, or Gypsy as you would call me. The show is very degrading and we have done everything we can to stop it. I guess I just wanted a place to vent that wasn't biased. I appreciate the moderators letting me go this far. I really love xda and its members for helping me to enjoy my phones the way I want to.
