you can update it through LG update tool...or first get it on stock based ROMs available on dev site.not the custom ROMs but rebuild ones...
normally there should not be a problem if the device is rooted but no idea about how your contract is...so unroot it finally or updating through the LG update from your laptop will unroot it anyway
or if you want to flash the NVflash method, which version you had...i have a few versions in my minus folder...can help u

I don't understand well the exact meaning of ROM and the differece from ROM and firmware. If i have an lg rom but it is not the one i have had on my phone when i got it, updating it will update the firmware on this ROM or the ROM itself? cause there are lots of ROMs depending of your country.
Firmware and rom are the same thing.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
You can flash some older (not the newest LG release) firmware with smartflash tool.
Instructions are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
Then you can use Lg upgrade tool and upgraded it to the latest version to be sure that you have the right version for your country.

You're saying the problem is with the custom ROMs?
Because I'm using custom and I have no problems whatsoever. Why would the ROM work perfectly for most people and not so well for some people other than hardware problems?

Really i don´t know why but in my case yes. I tried a lot of rooms, cm7, cm7.1, cm7 nighties ics4.0.3 , other rooms with gingerbread but only this 20q with the patch for disable FD is allowing my to not lose anymore the signal. Since i put this room i don´t have losing signal problems but the problem with the usb conection yes. My phone don´t connect to a pc from a long time ago.

Did you flash V20P?
OR
Did you Flash CM7 from P925?
I just flashed cm7 from the site for p925. Then I flashed vengeance 03d for p920 with gingerbread baseband. It worked with froyo so not sure if the model # means a lot.
Ok I see. I did both. I did the official gingerbread update with the lg update tool then I rooted then flashed touch recovery. Then flashed cm7.2 releases on 3/15/2011. That's when I lost wireless service. I then got vengeance rom because I thought I needed a gb baseband. All functions of phone still work with the exception of the wireless. Help pleeeeaaassseee!!!
It doesn't want to detect any networks at all. Wifi works like it should.
if you updated with the lg tool you have a gingerbread BaseBand so no matter what rom you flash you keep you BB it doent change it cant be flashed with CWM so what rom are you on now vengeance or CM 7.2?
Vengeance but I still have the 7.2 zip file

By official, you AT&T update, correct?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S II w/ CM9
Yes. I updated to gb with lg update tool. Worked 100%
Then I flashed cm7.2 no data did factory reset still no data. Flashed vengeance for gb baseband and still no data. ThAts how it stands right now.
It won't find any networks at all, AT&T, t-mobile, nothing. Both of those showed up with both of these ROMs before on a different lg thrill that had froyo.
If I can't get it working I'm stuck with the iphone3gs for a while. I'm prepared to answer any questions and follow any instructions. I will flash it back to stock and leave it that way if I must.

I really DON'T want to advertise, but currently Lestatious BioHazard 2.9 supports V20P. You just have to choose that kernel when it asks.
Can you hook me up with a link. I tried that with my other phone but it said the file was invalid. I will try it and if it's no good I got a stock link you sent me previously and ima use that last. Stock is last choice!

Help (lg p920 3d rom)
is there any way to revert from king 3d rom to stock rom? cause im having problems with:
/widgets (when i set widgets,if rebooted, everything i put on it will be double copied 1st and 2nd windows will have the same widgets)
/time and date (if the phone was rebooted the date will be set into 1/1/2000 nd time will be 12:00am)
/purchased items on market such as axcel drum recieving messge like (thi software isnt compatible with your device), when i flashed into this rom, some items i payed for,i cant download it anymore unlike the previous rom i have i can install everything
/other downloadable apps i can download some apps but it force closes or automatic closes
/Saving Contacts whenever i save new contacts or replace, my phone hangs.. so i need to remove battery..
From 2.2.2 Froyo(Stock)
>Gingerbread 2.3.5
>then flashed king 3d rom
Well if you made a backup of your stock rom in clockworkmod, then yeah. Just wipe everything and restore your backup. If you didn't make a backup, then you could either flash to a different rom or you could kdz flash back to the stock rom.
i didnt..
could you give me some list of better rom for lg-p920 optimus 3d?
i was planning to flash cyanogen, but i cant seem to have a better reason to flash it, some thoughts are "would it be more stable than king 3d or it might have some more issues than my present rom"
could you give me a list of roms that runs perfectly on lgp920?
something stable to run on my phone? thanks
---------- Post added at 12:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------
wait.. what do you mean "i could kdz flash back to original rom."?
you mean its possible to revert everything without flashing the LGE stock rom kdz nor using a backup rom?
i tried to download it,found a link to the stock rom download but they are uploaded on fileserve server.. im unable to download it.. pls help..
You'd need to use the LG software (I know, it sucks) but I don't know of any other way without a cmd backup. If it's in a .zip format though, then you should be able to flash it. If not, just search around the forums. There are tons of very stable, very amazing roms made by Thaiaz, Meemo, The Dark Lestat. Just look around.
alright i will.. thank you bro.. ^_^

one last question pls..
if i upgraded into gingerbread and flashed a new rom.. would gingerbread still be there?
i mean... roms (king 3d rom) and operating systems (gingerbread) are different installations right? im new with these things...im a bit confused haha..
==thank you for answering my questions..you really did helped me..and for the others who will read this thread ==
The kdz flash method will flash firmware baseband and bloatware cwm doesn't do baseband so you will still be on gingerbread

Problem reading anything on king 3d rom
Hey I used the rom manager to install the King 3d rom and everything worked fine except now almost all the words are gone so i cant read anything when i open any app even the rom manager app. I tried to restore the original backup i made but it said the md5 had an error while restoring the system. this thing bugs me a lot. why costum gb roms have slow wifi speed? i tried cyanogenmod 7 - slow wifi, then tried cm9 - wifi is ok. but games are very laggy so i'm back at gb with gamerz rom but wifi is slower again, but acceptable. so i'm thinking about restoring original wifi drivers/settings to have normal speed wifi but i don't know is it possible and which files i need to overwrite. to mention i don't have slow wifi, it's 1 MB/sec download, and it needs a few secs to load google, when i'm at ics or stock gb it loads instantly.

Its strange you should mention this as I only got this phone today and I flashed a custom rom and my hsdpa speeds were awful , like 15 k a second max, I tried a few others same result, im now back on stock and its flying, i know it isn't WiFi but its got to be related in weird way !
Custom Rom uses modem that might not always be the best for your region. If you think your stock Rom has better speed, try to download the modem file for that rom and flash it after you flash the custom rom.

Yes these are only for cyanogenmod roms and ics I believe, I'm not sure if the modems can be extracted from the original firmware for use with gingerbread but hopefully there will be a guru who can tell us if it can be done and how to do it, maybe there are some modems for 2.3 on here somewhere, I will have a look as this is something I would like as well ! Hi all,
I have just flashed CM7.2.0 which I downloaded from the official CM website....the flashing everything went fine but it seems unstable signal wise, high battery useage and also trying to turn on and off Airplane mode it sometimes wont work without a reset of the device. I was thinking possibly a Baseband issue?
The only thing I have no idea what baseband I am meant to be running on Gingerbread CM7....I was on the stock LG ICS rom before flashing. It says my baseband is currently 1035.21_20121130
Can anyone recomend the correct baseband for me?
Is the one above left from when I was running ICS?
Am I correct in thinking when flashing the baseband stays as it is....it doesnt come with the new rom?
I am sorry for all the questions but need big help.
Thanks
Tom

Flashing a custom ROM cannot change your BB. Your BB presently is the ICS BB and ICS BB are always not supportive of the GB systems and communication.Your battery drain signal, drops, maybe because of that too
So, you need to change your BB to a GB BB as the CM7.2 is gingerbread stuff.
Changing the BB is only possible with smart flash or KDZ method. Please check tonyp's Baseband thread in the development section for all the answers for BB.
Hope this helps

Today I was charging my S3 (i9305) and turned off the power. I later discovered that my phone was still on even though I had turned it off. I found out that when charging my phone with the power off it rebooted my phone. I don't know if it's a problem with the Rom or phone. Help would be appreciated. (I have attached a picture of what my phone gets stuck on before it reboots). Thanks.

Hi,
Im not sure but maybe this is the old bootloader issue..are you on new or old bootloader? and have you installed agni kernel that comes by default with the rom? cause i thought that the reboot issue only was present in the boeffla kernels for this rom, which i have removed from the rom thread some time ago, because they were not stable.
It is definately not a rom problem, cause im using this rom every day (btw im on new 4.4.4 bootloader) and i didnt had any reboots from the 1st day till this time also not with the 4.3 bootloader, using Agni kernel 4.9 everything works fine, even offline charging works, but from this we already knew that offline charging was working well on new bootloader.

Well the case is that the bootloader is not something you can find separately and flash it for example like a flashable zip, the only way to update the bootloader is by flashing 4.3 or 4.4.4 official firmware from sammobile.com or any other site where you can download samsung official firmwares, and it has the KNOX feature included which really sucks, therefore these bootloaders are also called KNOX bootloader. You can check what bootloader you have at the moment by booting into downloadmode and in left upper corner of the downloadmode screen if there is a line saying ´´KNOX WARRANTY VOID´´ means you already have the new knox bootloader and since the new Android 4.4.4 now there is also a line in blue color saying ´´SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED'' which is the case with me.
If you like to update the bootloader you can do that, in my signature there is a link to ODIN guide, also there is a link in the guide for if you want to learn more about knox bootloader before you do anything, cause when you flash 4.3 or 4.4.4 official firmware the knox bootloader will remain forever with the device, its not something you can delete like an .apk file, the bootloader is part of the device structure.
This knox bootloader seems to cause problems with installing custom roms or applying root etc. (not for everyone though) but im now KNOXED for some time and never had actually any kind of problem installing custom roms or rooting etc. besides that i think that our i9305 is now getting old and 4.4.4 is probably the last official update to come from Samsung, so it doesnt really matter to be knoxed or not knoxed at this time IMHO and most of the people dont care anymore about warranty being void, but if you like to avoid such small issues like device rebooting by itself or any other issue caused by the old bootloader with 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 custom roms, i recommend everyone to update the bootloader if you plan to run 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 custom roms as daily driver.
If you are still not sure about this or you dont understand something, you can always look for more info in the general Q&A thread or just do some research on the internet.
Cheers
Thank you

Hey man sorry for late reply.
I think wifi direct isnt working then, for the audio skipping i think its related to your kernel settings, try other governors for example. I dont have this issue, music playing fine with me.
Air Navigation does not work. Sry bad english
