Hi there
I had gingerbread 2.3.4 and Semaphore kernel and I flashed MIUI 2.3.4 then I flashed Glitch from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1315400
I didn't like glitch because of its bad colors so I decided to reflash my gingerbread rom using odin3.... now odin3 got stock at modem.bin and i had to disconnect my device
my device had a black screen and I tried to flash the same rom and tried other roms from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1102881
but it always stuck on the same place
one froyo was falshed successfully but the screen remained black and the only change happened is that i heard the start up sound but... again a black screeen
I tried to flash rom without "phone" file
it was flashed successfully
bt again I heard the startup sound with a black dead screen
yet the buttons are still lighted
Pleaaaaaaase Help
I tried flashing a wrong rom... now the device can't go in download mode
the usb jig doesn't work
ow even buttons are off
I neeed help...
would i have to take it to samsung Maintenance center?
Can you go in to download mode? If not, your bootloader is pretty much fuc*ed the only solutions i can think of is JTAG

I was on Froyo 2.2 and i tried to downgrade using Odin n it completed but now my Galaxy S doesn't reboot fully, it turns on like normal, the animation comes up too but when the S in the middle of the screen comes it flashes like it normally does but after a mim or so it jus goes black n turns off!, i removed the battery n sim card n tried it again but still nothing, i can go into download mode and recovery mode which i did to wipe the data but that still didnt work, can anyone help please?!
If you can go to download mode, try flashing again.
I tried that but the flashing fails for sum reason =/
You haven't said what you ROM you were flashing. It does sound like a bad flash. Have you tried downloading the ROM again, maybe from a different source, or possibly go to the samfirmwares page and choose something like the JM8 ROM ( and use odin with repartition ticked). I have had a similar problem like this and this route solved the problem.
Best of luck.
What version of odin are you using? I softbricked my sgs trying to flash voodoo lagfix with odin 1.3, then i reflashed with odin 1.7 and that did the trick to bring the phone back to life. Good luck!

I bricked my phone a while back (SGS I9000 2.1) using firmware from samfirmware. It would get to the galaxy S startup screen then reboot (Stuck in that loop). i still had the 3BC at this point.
Being new to flashing using odin i downloaded Odin3 One-Click Downloader (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989) after i applied the fix i realised i do not have this phone. The phone was bricked couldnt get 3BC no conectivity with adb on my pc, the phone was stuck on an AT&T screen and im in the UK.
I built the Jig with the 301K resistor to get into download mode and it worked first time. After doing alot of research on how to flash the I9000 i flashed a random 2.1 firmware and it booted again.
The problem i have is i cannot enter recovery/download mode and when the phone boots it looks like artifacts pop up for a second then it boots to galaxy s screen (green and purple line across the screen, sometimes looks like a tv screen with no channels black and white fuzzy).
Also when the phone is off and i try charging nothing appears on the screen and it dosent turn on with the charger plugged in. Then as soon as i remove the charger it automaticlly turns on. I think this is causing the last issue, when my phone runs out of battery it dies completly and wont turn back on, somtimes if im lucky i can charge it for about 1 Hour, remove the charger and it will automaticlly turn on and quickly plug the charger back in when it boots its got 1% battery. so i dont think my phone charges when off.
I have tyied applying the 3BC fix for the I9000 but no luck it just bricked my phone had to use the Jig again to recover.
If anyone knows how to fix this annoying problem Please help me!!!
I am running Darky's ROM 9.3 Beta 3 with Voodoo 1.3b oc uv kernel 1280MHz
so the jig is working ???
Try to flash an old firmware, something like eclair with all 3 files and pit, then use pit and re-partition in odin and if that works, try to calibrate the battery.. if you have any luck then upgrade to something newer, maybe thru samfirmware.com or officially thru kies.
i hope you get it fixed
ps. have you tried another battery to make sure your current one isnt faulty ??
Thanks will try it now. I think the battery is fine I get an avarage of 24hr usage set CPU min 100 Max 1280.

Hi there, I'm sorry to bother you all but somehow I've managed to brick my phone.
Phone info prior to brick:
gt-i9000m
using a rom developed in darky's rom kitchen
rooted
Phone info on way to brick:
Flashed European gingerbread 2.3.2 (successful)
Rooted (successful)
Phone info where became bricked:
Tried to flash seeARMS gingerbread rom onto phone using clockworkmod
Place update file into root folder of internal SD and entered rom manager app to attempt to flash rom, phone enters boot screen and stays there five minutes.
I at this point pulled the battery and reentered download mode attempting to flash european gingerbread again.. Odin runs and then hangs up while it's trying to execute the boot.ini thing, phone's screen turns off I left it running for 5 minutes to make sure that it wasn't working..
Pulled battery and tried to turn on phone enters black screen of death wear the computer exclamation mark and phone symbol pops up.
I attempt to enter download mode and succeed! Then I try to reflash 2.3.2 but again Odin hangs up at boot.ini and screen turns off.
So anyway, my question is since I can still enter download mode is there any possible way to fix my phone? I will be downloading the stock rom tomorrow and attempting to flash it again using Odin. Any suggestions?
I would flash one of the stock 2.1 roms and start all over.

Alright, thanks is there any chance you know where I could fine one?
I was able to unbrick my phone by removing the battery, holding the power button and letting all the residual energy drain from the unit, then booting into download mode and flashing 2.3.2 using Odin3. It turns out, the revision of 2.3.2 I have is without a recovery mode so I'll have to reflash a stock JL2 firmware before I can use seeArm's 2.3.2.

Hello everybody. First of all, I'm quite new to the whole android world as I got my Galaxy S only three months ago. But I want to take full advantage of it's power so I decided to root it quite quickly. And now I had stumbled upon a problem and had no luck in finding a solution. That's the reason for this thread.
I went through other topics in this forum and it seems no one ever had a problem like this.
I've installed a RomKitchen custom XXJVB rom with Chainfire's kernel (CF Root XW XEE JVB v3.1 CWM3RFS) according to the instructions provided there - I flashed CWM 2.5 with Odin, then updated from CWM Recovery to Gingerbread.
In general, after doing this, everything works fine, the phone got super-fast, no issues there. However, now, during boot the screen displays a TV-like scrambled signal (like white noise... only it isn't white). It's hard to explain so I attached a picture.
It's like the whole screen is covered in coloured pixels. Sometime's a line of pixels moves. A similar thing happens when I try to boot into recovery - it boots but the display is all scrambled. The recovery menu works (when I use the volume buttons the pixels on the screen change their position) but I can't see a thing.
I tried virtually every solution I could think of - I wiped everything, did a factory reset, installed everything again. Still the same. When I revert to stock Froyo 2.2.1 this doen't happen anymore. But I prefer Gingerbread over Froyo.
So, have anyone here seen a similar problem and knows how to fix this? I would be very grateful for any pointers
EDIT: Silly me, guess I haven't searched hard enough :/ It seems I'm missing the new bootloaders.

Yeah, that's it.
Flash JVB stock with bootloader. Load your cooked rom onto internal sd card. Then flash the speedmod kernal in Odin with auto reboot unchecked. Pull the battery, then boot the phone into recovery, and flash your cooked rom.

I am getting this scrambled screen at the beginning of reboot after flash to serendipity VII. My phone will come up fine after the scrambled screen. But I cannot see the cwm page if I selected "recovery". Any help? Is this the bootloader being corrupted? Thx.

Flash this bootloader through odin/heimdall, tick Update Phone Bootloader and click FLASH

Hello,
I just got back my galaxy s from repair and it was locked with gingerbread 2.3. I flashed the phone back to a 2.1 so that I can unlock it. But after flashing it with odin (selecting pit 512 and I9000UGJG8 rom), now I'm stuck on a white screen boot loop. I tried flashing Darky's Ressurection 9.2.......same result!
Has anyone had this problem?? I can go only into "downloading".
I was able to fix it, I used this trick :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140
Its weird , before when I use to get stuck in boot loop, it got stuck in samsung logo...
Try flashing the ezbase rom with ezodin as instructed
